Objective To discuss the efficacy of intravesical instillation of sodium hyaluronate for the treatment of cystitis glandularis after transurethral resection. Methods 85 patients (9 male and 76 female, age range 37-70 years, mean age 51) who were diagnosed as CG in China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University underwent transurethral resection. After the operation they were divided into three groups randomly according to different intravescal instillation:sodium hyaluronate for group A,epirubicin for group B and no medicine for group C.The group A started to instill with sodium hyaluronate 40mg once a week for four weeks, and then once a month for four months. The group B did the same way of intravesical instillation of epirubicin. All the patients were followed-up for 12 months. The cystoscopy was done every three months to detect recurrence and the clinical symptom score was evaluated at 1,3,6 and 12 months. Results No patients in group A treated by sodium hyaluronate relapsed but 6 cases and 9 cases in group B and group C respectively.Recurrence rate of group A is significant low compared with group B and C (P < 0.05).The scores of clinical symptom score appendix after 1,3,6 and 12 months for group A were (3.18 ± 1.44),(1.29 ±0.66),(1.25 ±0.65) and (1.21 ±0.63),respectively.It was (3.37 ±1.62),(3.33 ±1.59),(1.37±0.74) and (1.30±0.61) for group B,and (3.47±1.81),(3.40±1.52),(3.27±1.41) and (3.23 ± 1.19) for group C.Compare the score of clinical symptom in the same group, there were significant differences for the score after 3 months compare with the score after 1 month in group A (P < 0.05).But in group B,the significant differences showed after 6 months (P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in group C (P > 0.05) in the whole year. Conclusions Intravesical sodium hyaluronate therapy can effectively decline the recurrence rate of cystitis glandularis after transurethral resection. It could also significantly improve the urinary tract symptoms.

Objective To study application of Chinese general practice assessment questionnaire (GPAQ)consultation version 2.0 in evaluating patients' satisfaction with community health-care service (CHS).Methods First, origihal GPAQ consultation version 2.0 in English was translated into Chinese language by three experts in general practice/family medicine field, then translated it back into English, finally a Chinese version of GPAQ was formed.Ten medical doctors who were on duty on 25 April,2008 at each out-patient clinic from CHS of Daxing,Nancaiyuan,Yongning and Hancunhe were selected randomly as targets for evaluation of service satisfaction.A sample of the first 30 patients(1200 in total)aged more than 16 years who visited the clinic on that day were selected to fill out the Chinese GPAQ consultation version 2.0 to express their satisfaction with the medical doctors they visited, and reliability and validity of the questionnaire was then evaluated. Results Cronbach's alpha ranged 0.734 to 0.813 for each domain of the Chinese version of GPAQ2.0.and cumulated contribution of three common factors with the eigen-value more than one reached 58.722%.Scores of patients' satisfaction withreceptionists, access, continuity, doctor's communication skills andpatient enablement were significantly lower,as compared to those of national bench-mark in the United Kingdom, with t-values of -6.397,-11.729,-6.328,-59.871 and -2.210,and all P<0.05.respectively.Conclusions The Chinese version of GPAO 2.0 achieves good reliability and modcrate validity, and can be used as an instrument for evaluating patient's satisfaction with quality of CHS in China as further revision in the future studies.

Anopheles minimus was once a main malaria vector in Hainan Island and had been e-liminated basically through the campaign of indoor residual spraying launched in 1959. It again became an incriminated vector of some focal malaria outbreaks in recent years. The present study was conducted in a selected county-Danxian and a typical hilly area-Feibar in the west part of Danxian county in 1989-1990.An. minimus was found in 50% and 62. 5 % of the surveyed sites at mountainous and hilly area of Danxian county, but not found in coastal region. An. minimus was found in all 18 sites surveyed in Feibar district constituting 52% of anopheline composition. Man-biting rate made by human-baited collection was 3. 2 before midniaght and 38. 2 when collected through whole night in some sites. However, the behaviour characteristics of An. minimus has changed. It has become exophilic, exophagic, and has an equal preference for man and cattle. The vectorial capacity of An. minimus estimated by quantitative data was in accord with malaria infection rate in Feibar district ,and the malaria infection rate among the inhabitants in three types of residential quarter with different socioeconomic conditions. Malaria infection rates of residential quarter of land-reclamation outcomers, villagers and state farm residents were 10%,2. 9% and 0. 5% respectively during 40 days from July to August,1990.Owing to the fact that An. minimus has become a secondary vector only next to An. dirus, with a wide range of distribution and a considerable different characteristics in behaviour compared to that before spraying campaign , it is suggested that a malaria control programme must be seriously planned to adjust the new problem of malaria epidemiology in Hainan Province.
