Acta Anatomica Sinica 1989;0(S1):-
Gossypol has been shown to cause a side effect hypokalemia. This study was designed to evalulated the possible role of gossypol in relation to renal potassium loss by using histochemical method for comparative analysis of gossypol and gentamicin, a well known tubulo-toxic agent, as positive control with respect to nephrotoxic demage in rats and guinea pigs. The results indicated that gossypol had obvious effect on reabsorption function by inducing transitional decrease of membrane enzymes activities of renal tubular cells but had no effect as comparable with gentamicin to cause structureal damage of tubular cells.

Objective To evaluate the safety of a surgical appwach for transabdominal cardial carci- noma. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 326 patients undergoing transabdominal esophagastrostomy or esophagojejunostomy from 1998 to 2006 via the EEA(end-to-end anastomosis)stapler. Results By the surgi- cal approach for transabdominal cardial carcinoma, the average length of reseete esophagus above the carci- noma was about 6~8 cm realized the low average of remnant carcinoma at the margin and operation mortality and anastomotic leakage, which was lower than those in the thoraeotomy appmaeh significantly. Conclusion The transabdominal approach makes a clear operative field in posterio-inferior mediastinum,it is beneficial for radical resection of eardial carcinoma and intramediastinal esophagogastric or esophagojejunal mechanical anastomosis, and it fits to the old,the weakening and with the disease of heart and lung.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2008;28(5):572-5
The expression and possible role of integrin-focal adhesion kinase signal pathway in invasive pituitary adenomas were explored. Forty-nine human pituitary adenomas were detected for the expression of integrinbeta1 (INTbeta1) and focal adhesion kinase (FAK) by immunohistochemistry, and their correlation with the invasiveness of pituitary adenomas as well as between themselves was analyzed. The results showed that INTbeta1 was expressed in 46 cases (93.9%) and FAK in 36 cases (73.5%), respectively, and their expression levels were highly correlated with tumor invasiveness, but not with the tumor types. It was suggested that the integrin-focal adhesion kinase signal pathway plays a role in the invasiveness of pituitary adenomas.

Objective To compare the clinical value of three-dimensional dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (3D DCE MRA) and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in diagnosing inferior vena cava diseases in suspected case of Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS).Methods Radiological findings of 91 suspected BCS cases obtained from 3D DCE MRA and DSA in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University were retrospectively analyzed.DSA test was considered as golden standard, which assess the capacity of 3D DCE MRA in diagnosing inferior vena cava diseases, including sensitivity, specificity and accuracy.Kappa test was utilized to compare the coincidence ratio of 3D DCE MRA and DSA in diagnosing inferior vena cava diseases. Results Among 91 suspected BCS cases with 3D DCE MRA,a total of 17 cases without inferior vena cava diseases were misdiagnosed as inferior vena cava stenosis, two patients with inferior vena caval obstruction was misdiagnosed as falsely negative.Seventy-two patients with 3D DCE MRA were confirmed via DSA in diagnosing inferior vena cava diseases, sensitivity was up to 97.7% (58/60),false positivity 54.8% (17/31),specificity 45.2% (14/31),respectively.Fair coincidence ratio of 3D DCE MRA and DSA in diagnosing inferior vena cava diseases (Kappa =0.474,P < 0.05).Conclusions There could be clinical value of 3D DCE MRA for its high sensitivity and low specificity in diagnosing inferior vena cava diseases, and favorable coincidence ratio was discovered between 3D DCE MRA and DSA.Comprehensive consideration is needed for suspected cases of inferior vena cava stenosis detected by 3D DCE MRA,and further analysis may figure out potential causes of misdiagnosis and decline false positive events.

Colorectal cancer is currently the third most common cancer worldwide, and there are still half of the patients undergoing recurrence and metastasis after surgical treatment,so it is necessary for colorectal cancer patients to receive radiation therapy routinely.Due to the side effects brought by radiotherapy,it is of great importance to solve how to minimize the radiation dose in radiation therapy and improve radiation sensitivity. In recent years, people discovered that microRNAs can not only be involved in the origins of colorectal cancer and progress, but also play a increasingly important role in cancer radiosensitivity.MicroRNAs can regulate tumor radiosensitivity by influencing tumor microenvironment and function on target genes.DNA damage response caused by radiation includes the activation of ATM,histone modification and chromatin remodeling, cell cycle arrest, damage repair and apoptosis.microRNAs can regulate tumor radiosensitivity through above processes. This review focuses on the mechanism of microRNAs in affecting DNA damage repair and prospects the future of microRNAs in influencing the sensitivity of cancer radiotherapy in clinical application.
