The marrow stromal cells of adult New Zealand rabbits cultivated and induced in vitro were used to form MCCAB by mixing, seeding and solidifying methods with the aid of alginate. The MCCABs were auto-transplanted intramuscularly into the rabbits for 4 to 8 weeks. The alginate-cancellous bone matrix composites or the cancellous bone matrix alone were implanted as control. The effectiveness of bone formation was assessed by means of roentgenography and histology. The results showed that the osteogeneses of MCCABs were better than those of the alginate-cancellous bone matrix composites and of the cancellous bone matrix. In the MCCABs, both intramembranous and cartilaginous osteogenesis were seen with the former predominating. In the control, only slight cartilaginous osteogenesis was seen. The results suggested that the osteogenesis of the MCCABs constructed by using tissue engineering method was obvious when transplanted intramuscularly, therefore, this kind of tissue-engineered bone could be an effective way for clinical application.

Around the world, the supply of health services faces challenges, especially in developing nations that suffer from inadequate infrastructure and aging equipment, frequent shortages of medicine and supplies, and low capacity and efficiency of primary health care. At present, more and more governments adopt public-private partner-ships to achieve public policy goals. Among those, Brazil, South Africa, and India have made greater achievements in changing the roles of local government, increasing the supply of primary health care and health care quality, pro-moting health care equality, meeting the needs of multi-level medical services, and promoting health capabilities by using public-private partnerships. This paper provides an overview of public-private partnership practices in the three countries, discusses their reform experiences, and concludes with implications which may be helpful for promoting and scaling up PPP in primary health care in China.

Objective To study the clinical efficacy of electromyography biofeedback on dystonia after hepatolenticular degeneration. Methods 40 patients with dystonia after hepatolenticular degeneration were divided into treatment group (n=20) and control group (n=20).All patients were treated with copper-cleaning, clonazepam and benzhexol hydrochloride etc., and acupuncture. The treatment group wastreated with electromyographic biofeedback in addition. They were assessed with modified Ashworth scale, modified Barthel index, and ankledorsiflexion active range of motion. Results The lower extremities function of all patients improved after treatment (P<0.05) and thetreatment group improved more than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Electromyography biofeedback is more effective to improvethe lower extremities function and activity of daily living in patients with hepatolenticular degeneration following dystonia.

In this paper, we propose an image-based key frame gating method to reduce motion artifacts in intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) longitudinal cuts. The artifacts are mainly caused by the periodic relative displacement between blood vessels and the IVUS catheter due to cardiac motion. The method is achieved in four steps as following. Firstly, we convert IVUS image sequences to polar coordinates to cut down the amount of calculation. Secondly, we extracted a one-dimensional signal cluster reflecting cardiac motion by spectral analysis and filtering techniques. Thirdly, we designed a Butterworth band-pass filter for filtering the one-dimensional signal clusters. Fourthly, we retrieved the extremes of the filtered signal clusters to seek key frames to compose key-frames gated sequences. Experimental results showed that our algorithm was fast and the average frame processing time was 17ms. Observing the longitudinal viewpictures, we found that comparing to the original ones, the gated sequences had similar trend, less saw tooth shape, and good continuity. We selected 12 groups of clinical IVUS sequences [images (876 +/- 65 frames), coronary segments length (14.61 +/- 1.08 mm)] to calculate vessel volume, lumen volume, mean plaque burden of the original and gated sequences. Statistical results showed that, on one hand, both vessel volume and lumen volume measured of the gated sequences were significantly smaller than those of the original ones, and there was no significant difference on mean plaque burden between original and gated sequences, which met the need of the clinical diagnosis and treatment. On the other hand, variances of vessel area and lumen area of the gated sequences were significantly smaller than those of the original sequences, indicating that the gated sequences would be more stable than the original ones.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2014;(9):2015-2019
This study was aimed to investigate structured approach of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptom information. Combining results of the Chinese Symptomatology Research and literature review, this study proposed a dual structure model of symptom. A total of 440 symptoms, which were screened out from the Chinese Terms in TCM and Pharmacy, were used for symptom structured attempt. The results showed that 9 symptoms and 9 attributes were identified, 201 main concept words of symptoms were extracted, and 420 symptoms with the dual structure model were structured. It was concluded that structural information model of TCM symptoms proposed in this study was feasible. However, the research methods and results are exploratory, which requires further verification.

Objective To measure and calculate the dose distribution (tissue absorbed dose) of mouth floor area while using 125I to treat sublingual gland carcinoma. Methods Phantom of head and neck was used to place the 125I radioactive seeds to simulate the sublingual gland carcinoma treatment.125I radioactive seeds of 29.6 and 25.9 MBq per seed were used as two groups, with 31 seeds in each group, and prescribed dose (peripheral matched dose) was 120 Gy.Thermoluminescence dosimetry (TLD) was used to measure the absorbed dose value in the simulated target and adjacent area.Gafchromic Eriochrome Black T (EBT) film was used to draw the dose distribution curve. Results Dose absorbed in the target area, target area center and the adjacent area one centimeter away from target reached 160 Gy,390-500 Gy,and 90-170 Gy,respectively.Dose of the skin ranged from 25 to 81 Gy,dose of mandible ranged from 7.9 to 67 Gy.No radiation cold spot was found. Conclusions 125I seeds could achieve an effective therapeutic dose distribution of the target area for sublingual gland carcinoma.Dose absorbed in the adjacent tissue is under safety limit. The radiation dose at mandible is lower, reducing the possibility of radiation damage to the bone.

Pathological types of gastric cancer in stage Ⅲ C include T4a-SEN3,T4b-SIN2,T4b-SIN3.Celiac artery metastatic lymphadenopathy fused into blocks, usually from bottom to top.Limited operation space revealed anatomical and pathological factors, the dissection of the celiac artery lymph nodes, processing the left gastric artery root difficulty.Application of novel celiac artery lymph nodes dissection path, avoiding the limitation of the celiac artery lymph node dissection space exposure factors,so that the dissection of the celiac artery lymph nodes is more complete, processing the left gastric artery root easily, reduce the amount of bleeding, shorten operation time, increase the average lymph node dissection and the Ⅲ C gastric cancer resection rate.
