1.Progress and hot topics in clinical management of desmoid tumor
China Oncology 2010;20(3):227-231
Desmoid tumor also known as aggressive fibromatosis, are rare fibroblastic tumors which are derived from deep fascia planes or muscuofascia structures.Resectable extra-abdominal and abdominal desmoid tumor should always be treated with the aim of achieving a negative margin through wide radical resection with margins above 2 cm.Ifthis is not feasible,function-sparing surgical resection is suggested.Adjuvant radiation should be considered for patients with positive margins, recirrent tumors or unresectable diseases.Intra-abdominal desmoid tumor is common in patients with familial adenomatous polyposis. It has a high recurring rate after surgical resection and therefore a high dosage of tamoxifen and sulindac are recommended as first-line treatment.Due to the variable nature of the outcome and vague reaction to drug therapy, individualized treatments, including the wait and see policy, has been widely investigated and thought to be a promising strategy for the future.
2.Advances and Updates on pathological diagnosis of lymphoma
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2016;43(14):613-619
The 2008 World Health Organization Classification of Tumors of Hematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissues (4th edition) has greatly advanced the diagnosis, treatment, academic exchange, and research of lymphoma worldwide. A new revised edition will be published soon, in which the diagnosis and management of lesions at the very early stages of lymphomagenesis, the diagnostic criteria for several entities, and the genetic/molecular landscape of numerous lymphoid neoplasms and their clinical correlates have been clarified, refined, detailed, and expanded. Furthermore, several new concepts have been suggested in the upcoming revised edition, although the framework of classification remains the same. These updates will lead to development of more targeted therapeutic strategies and increase our confidence in the era of precision medicine. This manuscript will review the major advances and updates that are helpful for our un-derstanding and improvement in tumor diagnosis.
3.Current pathologic diagnosis and management of Helicobacter pylori-associated gastritis and gastric marginal zone lymphoma with a case report
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2014;23(11):646-653
Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) associated gastritis is one of the most common infectious diseases in China and worldwide.Gastric marginal zone lymphoma,or mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma is a rare neoplasm associated with H.pylori infection and the first neoplastic disease curable by antibiotics therapy alone. The pathologic diagnosis of gastric MALT lymphoma can be reached by histologic examination, immunohistochemical staining, and B-cell clonality studies.Eradication against H.pylori is the choice of therapy for early stage gastric MALT lymphoma.Refractory, localized disease may be treated with low-dose irradiation therapy with high rates of responding and long-term survival.Systemic chemotherapy is recommended for advanced stage gastric MALT lymphoma or high-grade transformed large B-cell lymphoma.A recent case with recurrent chronic active gastritis and gastric MALT lymphoma after H.pylori eradication therapy was reported.Recent advances in the studies of pathologic diagnosis and therapy of the disease were reviewed.
5.Evaluation on Transverse Process Fractures of the Lumbar Spine
Journal of Practical Radiology 2000;0(02):-
Objective To evaluate the relationship between transverse process fractures of lumbar spine and blunt abdominal trauma. Methods 169 cases of blunt abdominal trauma were reviewed.Number and type of lumbar transverse process fractures associated intra-abdominal injuries were recorded. Results 148 fractures in 81 cases showed transverse process fractures on CT (single fractures in 43,multiple fractures in 38).Of them, the fractures were at right-sided in 28 patients,left-sided in 33 and bilateral in 20.Transverse process fractures of L 1 vertebra were most common(n=60).Transverse process fractures were associated with abdominal trauma in 15 cases (18%), both was statistically significant (?
6.Effect of ferulic acid on cholesterol efflux in macrophage foam cell formation and potential mechanism.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2015;40(3):533-537
The formation of macrophage-derived foam cells is a typical feature of atherosclerosis (AS). Reverse cholesterol efflux (RCT) is one of important factors for the formation of macrophage foam cells. In this study, macrophage form cells were induced by oxidized low density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) and then treated with different concentrations of ferulic acid, so as to observe the effect of ferulic acid on the intracellular lipid metabolism in the ox-LDL-induced macrophage foam cell formation, the cholesterol efflux and the mRNA expression and protein levels of ATP binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1) and ATP binding cassette transporter G1 (ABCG1) that mediate cholesterol efflux, and discuss the potential mechanism of ferulic acid in resisting AS. According to the findings, compared with the control group, the ox-LDL-treated group showed significant increase in intracellular lipid content, especially for the cholesterol content; whereas the intracellular lipid accumulation markedly decreased, after the treatment with ferulic acid. The data also demonstrated that the mRNA and protein expressions of ABCA1 and ABCG1 significantly increased after macrophage foam cells were treated with different concentrations of ferulic acid. In summary, ferulic acid may show the anti-atherosclerosis effect by increasing the surface ABCA1 and ABCG1 expressions of macrophage form cells and promoting cholesterol efflux.

International Journal of Pediatrics 2014;(5):511-514
With the continuous development of imaging techniques, patients with congenital heart dis-ease,especially in complicated congenital cardiac malformations, have more choices for detection methods of ear-ly diagnosis. Nowadays, the widely used diagnostic imaging methods included echocardiography,CT,MRI,cardi-ac catheterization, and prenatal ultrasound examination. Clinicians should choose the appropriate means of ima-ging test depending on the situation. This article will focus on the clinical application of imaging diagnosis in complicateol congenital heart disease.

Journal of Practical Radiology 1991;0(03):-
Objective To analyze the typical and atypical X-ray findings and improve the understanding of the atypical features of breast cancer . Methods The mammographic manifestations of 61 patients with breast cancer were retrospectively analyzed . Results The X-ray findings were as follows: mass (n=39); microcalcification (n=30);localized tortuosity or disturbance of mammary gland architecture (n=4), star sign (n=3),asymmetrical and localized increased density (n=3) without mass and/or microcalcification. Conclusion Mass and microcalcification are very important and typical signs for diagnosing breast cancer, but some atypical X-ray findings can be found, including: localized disturbance of mammary gland architecture, star sign, asymmetrical and localized increased density, sometimes one of these X-ray findings is the only sign of malignancy. To recognize atypical X-ray findings of breast cancer is valuable for improving diagnostic rate.
9.Analysis of X-ray Findings of Diaphragm and Other Related Features in Hyperthyroid Cardiopathy
Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(08):-
Objective To analyze X-ray findings of diaphragm and other related features in the diagnosis of hyperthyroid cardiopathy. Methods Forty cases without any other disease were taken chest plain film before therapy. The X-ray findings were analyzed. Results In all of X-ray features, low and flat diaphragm;barrel chest;increased and wide lung marking, which presented as network-like structure with mottling in bilateral inferior lung were closelv related to pathologic changes.Pneumonemia;pulmonary stasis;prominence of pulmonary artery segment;dilatation of right inferior pulmonary artery were related to othe change of heart and pulmonary circulation. Conclusion X-ray findings are closely related to the severe degree of pathologic changes in hyperthyroid cardiopathy. It is valuable for clinical diagnosis and treatment to recongnize these X-ray findings accurately.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(01):-
Objective To explore the effect of breast-conserving operation for the treatment of early-stage breast cancer. Methods From November 1999 to Octorber 2001, the patients with early-stage breast cancer were treated with breast-conserving surgery followed by radical irradiation according to the patients' will. The cosmetic results and quality of life were analyzed after surgery and radiation. Results In all the patients received operation treatment from 1999 to 2001, eighteen patients were treated with breast-conserving surgery with breast conservation rate of 10.2%, of which 7 cases with quadrantetomy plus axillary lymph node dissection (ALND), 8 cases with lumpectomy plus ALND and 3 cases with lumpectomy. Pathological staging was as follow: 4 cases in stage 0, 12 cases in stage Ⅰ, and 2 cases in stage Ⅱ. All cases were followed-up. The cosmetic results were good in 94%(17/18) and fair in 6%(1/18). All the patients had not local recurrence and distant metastasis. Conclusions Breast-conserving surgery followed by radiation therapy is superior to mastectomy in terms of improving breast cosmesis and quality of life. Postoperative radiation therapy does not affect the cosmetic result.
