1.A novel protein peptide associated with ischemic heart disease: dermcidin
Chinese Critical Care Medicine 2017;29(6):568-571
Dermcidin (DCD) was found in isolated human skin sweat glands with antimicrobial effect, and was defined as a kind of new small molecule antimicrobial peptide. It was a part of human sweat glands in the skin as the immune system's innate defense. With the studies of DCD, its extensive biological functions are gradually discovered. Since 2010, a number of studies have shown that DCD may be a new risk factor for atherosclerosis. And the role of DCD in ischemic heart disease has drawn increasing attention in particular its relationship with insulin secretion and glycemic control, nitric oxide (NO) synthesis and hypertension, platelet aggregation and acute myocardial infarction (AMI). In those experiments, it was also confirmed that aspirin had antagonistic and reverse effects on various biological functions of DCD. Further research on the role of DCD in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases may lead to the prevention, early warning, prognosis evaluation and treatment breakthrough of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events.

Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine 2006;0(15):-
Objective To evaluate whether high sensitivity C-reactive protein is associated with microvascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods A total of 321 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were recruited.According to the results of 8 h urine albumin excretion rate, ophthalmoscope examination and nerve conduction velocity test, nephropathy, retinopathy and neuropathy were defined respectively. To evaluate differences of the serum hsCRP levels of those with and without nephropathy, retinopathy and neuropathy. Results Only diabetic nephropathy correlated with the serum hsCRP level. With increment of urine albumin excretion rate,hsCRP level was increased.Pearson correlation analysis indicated that hsCRP correlated positively with urine albumin excretion rate(r=0.448,P=0.002),triglyceride(r=0.385,P=0.008),and body mass index(r=0.261,P=0.004).Stepwise linear regression showed that hsCRP and UAER,TG and BMI existed linear correlation. Conclusion hsCRP is associated with diabetic nephropathy and its level is correlated with the degree of diabetic nephropathy.
6. Meta-analysis of the effect of acupoint injection on pain improvement and joint function in patients with knee osteoarthritis
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2020;24(18):2879-2887
BACKGROUND: A large number of clinical research data show that acupoint injection has the advantages of good therapeutic effect and few adverse reactions in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, but there is a lack of related multicenter and large-sample clinical trial. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of acupoint injection on the pain improvement and joint function in patients with knee osteoarthritis by meta-analysis. METHODS: CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, CBM, PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library databases were searched for the randomized controlled trials concerning the acupoint injection for treating knee osteoarthritis published before May 2019. The observation group was acupoint injection or acupoint injection combined with other treatments. The control group was the treatments different from acupoint injection. The language was either in Chinese or English. After screening, the data included in the study were extracted by Review Manager 5.3 software for meta-analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Sixteen randomized controlled trials were included, involving 1 287 patients (648 cases in the observation group, and 639 cases in the control group). (2) Meta-analysis results showed that the overall effective rate, cure rate, Lysholm score and Japanese Orthopaedic Association scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group [OR=3.23, 95%CI (2.19, 4.76), Z=5.91, P < 0.000 01; OR=1.86, 95%CI (1.35, 2.58), Z=3.74, P=0.000 2; MD=7.87, 95%CI (2.66, 13.08), Z=2.96, P=0.003; MD=9.16, 95%CI (4.18, 14.13), Z=3.61, P=0.000 3]. The Visual Analogue Scale score, WOMAC score, Lequesne index score, and the incidence of adverse reactions between two groups showed no significant difference [MD=-1.11, 95%CI (-2.29, 0.07), Z=1.84, P=0.07; MD=-7.56, 95%CI (-17.26, 2.14), Z=1.53, P=0.13; MD=-0.46, 95%C I(-1.62, 0.71), Z=0.77, P=0.44; OR=1.31, 95%CI (0.31, 5.57), Z=0.37, P=0.71]. (3) These results indicate that the efficacy of acupoint injection for treating knee osteoarthritis is accurate. Because the literature quality included in the study is not high and bias may exist, more high-quality randomized controlled trials are still needed to verify the conclusions.

Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui 2015;(7):954-957
Objective To observe the role of cannabinoid receptor-2 (CB2) in acute experimental colitis in mice, and to explore its effect on the endoplasmic reticulum stress ( ERS ) in the intestinal mucosa . Methods 32 SPF mice were randomly divided into normal group, model group,CB2 agonist group and CB2 antagonist group. Disease activity index( DAI) and colon histopathological score( HS) were evaluatd. The levels of TNF-α and IL-10 in colon tissue were detected by ELISA. The expression of CB2 and ERS markers GRP78, CHOP in colon tissues were de-tected by immunohistochemical. The mRNA levels of GRP78 and CHOP were detected by RT-PCR. Results Com-pared with the normal group, the level of TNF-αwas significantly higher and the level of IL-10 was significantly low-er(P<0. 05) in the model group, the expressions of GRP78, CHOP and its mRNA were significantly higher(P<0. 05). Compared with the model group, the expression of CB2 in the CB2 agonist group was significantly higher(P<0. 05),the level of TNF-α dropped and the level of IL-10 increased(P<0. 05),and the expressions of GRP78, CHOP and its mRNA were significantly reduced(P<0. 05). The level of IL-10,TNF-α and ERS markers had no significant difference bewteen CB2 antagonist group and the model group ( P>0. 05 ) . Conclusion Severe endo-plasmic reticulum stress exists in intestinal mucosa of experimental colitis mice. The CB2 agonist activates CB2 ex-pression,reducing colitis in mice. Its mechanism may be related to inhibiting ERS in intestinal mucosa.
