The Cobb's and Ferguson's methods are widely used in order to measure scoliotic angle using the X-ray photograph. Since the scoliotic angle is detected on the bases of the positions of only two and three spines, the measured value includes various kinds of errors. Thus, the present study was designed to examine accuracy and reliability of the Cobb's and Ferguson's methods. The scoliotic angle corresponding to the Cobb's and Ferguson's method were computed using the least square approximating curve that was obtained on the basis of the positions of spines from thoracic to lumbar vertebrae.
As a result, it was found that the scoliotic angle by means of the clinical Cobb's method was closely correlated to that by the least square method with positive correlation coefficient of 0.98. On the other hands, the Ferguson's method showed less relation to the least square method. Thus, it was confirmed that the Cobb's method was more reliable for diagonsis of the scoliosis.

Objectives:
This review aims to introduce preoperative scoring systems to predict lymph node metastasis (LNM) and ongoing clinical trials to investigate the therapeutic role of lymphadenectomy for endometrial cancer.
Methods:
We summarized previous reports on the preoperative prediction models for LNM and evaluated their validity to omit lymphadenectomy in our recent cohorts. Next, we compared characteristics of two ongoing lymphadenectomy trials (JCOG1412, ECLAT) to examine the survival benefit of lymphadenectomy in endometrial cancer, and described the details of JCOG1412.
Results:
Lymphadenectomy has been omitted for 64 endometrial cancer patients who met lowrisk criteria to omit lymphadenectomy using our scoring system (LNM score) and no lymphatic failure has been observed. Other two models also produced comparable results. Two randomized phase III trials to evaluate survival benefit of lymphadenectomy are ongoing for endometrial cancer. JCOG1412 compares pelvic lymphadenectomy alone with pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy to evaluate the therapeutic role of para-aortic lymphadenectomy for patients at risk of LNM. For quality assurance of lymphadenectomy, we defined several regulations, including lower limit of the number of resected nodes, and submission of photos of dissected area to evaluate thoroughness of lymphadenectomy in the protocol. The latest monitoring report showed that the quality of lymphadenectomy has been well-controlled in JCOG1412.
Conclusion
Our strategy seems reasonable to omit lymphadenectomy and could be generalized in clinical practice. JCOG1412 is a high-quality lymphadenectomy trial in terms of the quality of surgical procedures, which would draw the bona-fide conclusions regarding the therapeutic role of lymphadenectomy for endometrial cancer.

Objective: The “One-half Rule” for OTC drug sales has been eliminated, and furthermore, “Remote-controlled sales” of OTC medicines by qualified sellers is under discussion. The number of registered sales clerks is greater than the number of pharmacists selling OTC drugs. Although this is a result of the different employment status of pharmacists and registered sales clerks due to their salary structure and role in the store, it can be said that registered sales clerks are the main people to deal with the general public when they purchase OTC drugs. Therefore, we conducted a survey of registered sales clerks in order to understand their actual work and their awareness of the revision of the system, and to estimate the impact on customers and patients. Methods: The questionnaire was administered at an external training session held by the Tokyo Metropolitan Druggist Association from April 16 to 18, 2022.Results: Valid responses were obtained from 319 participants. Responses were obtained for the ratio of work as a registered sales clerk before becoming a qualified, after qualification (present), and what they think would be an ideal work ratio. The percentage of “pharmaceutical consultation and sales” increased from 7.7 to 15.9, and finally 26.4% before, at present, and ideally, respectively. It was clear that the acquisition of the certification increased the percentage of specialized tasks and that the respondents would like to further increase this percentage. Awareness of the “One-half Rule” and “Remote-controlled sales” was 43.6 and 23.8%, respectively. Conclusion: It was inferred that the introduction of “Remote-controlled sales” would improve convenience but dilute interpersonal work, which would hinder the operation, maintenance, and management of the store, including courteous customer service that cannot be handled through a screen. Therefore, from this study, we believe that registered sales clerks express doubt about the introduction of “Remote-controlled sales”.
