1.The value of joint detection serum Cysc and Hcy for early diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy

Objective The text is to discuss the value of joint detection of serum cystatin C(CysC)and homocysteine(Hcy)in early diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy.Methods According to the Urine Trace Albumin Excretion Rate (UAER),divided 120 dia-betic patients to pure diabetic patient group and early-stage diabetic patient group,and 60 healthy cases was chosen in our hospital as control group.The concertration of serum CysC and Hcy in every group was tested,and the results were statistically analyzed. Results The result of serum CysC and Hcy in pure diabetic patient group and early-stage diabetic patient goup was higher than control group (P <0.05),and the concertration of serum CysC and Hcy was increased with the progress of the diabetic nephropa-thy significantly (P <0.05),the positive rate of joint detection serum CysC and Hcy in diabetic nephropathy was 86.7%,signifi-cantly higher than that of the two separate positive rate of detection.Conclusion Joint detection serum CysC and Hcy for diagnosis of early diabetic nephropathy has certain good value,Is worth the clinical promoted.
2.Effects of Decoration Materials and Furniture on Indoors Air Quality

Objective To understand the effects of various decoration materials and furniture on indoors air quality. Methods Formaldehyde, benzene and ammonia were monitored in indoor air of some residential buildings in Guangzhou. The residential rooms were divided into two groups, one was simply decorated group, the other was completely decorated group and the two groups were compared. The questionnaire was also carried out. Results The average concentrations of formaldehyde of the two groups were 0.338 mg/m3 and 0.027 mg/m3 respectively, the rates of exceeded standard were 57.14%, 6.67% respectively, and the difference between the two groups was obvious (P
3.The effect of ischemia-reperfusion injury on concentrations of free amino acids in rat myocardium and taurine's protective role

By using the model of ischemia-reperfusion injury in the isolated working rat heart,the change of free amino acid concentrations in myocardium and the effect of taurine on the heart were investegated. It was found that concentrations of 17 free amino acids in myocardium, except Cys,decreased,and that 20mM taurine was able to ameliorate the ischemia-reperfusion injury of the heart ;e. g. , the improvement of recovery of cardiac mechanical functions, the decrease in the leakage of LDHand CK from myocardium,in the accumulation of lipid peroxides and calcium,and in the loss of free amino acids in myocardium,as well as the decrease in the occurence rate of ventricular arrhythmias during the reperfusion phase. So, it may be suggested that exogenous taurine has some protective effects against the myocardial is-chemia-reperfuaion injury.
4.Three-dimensional measurement of femoral neck anteversion

Objective To investigate the evaluation of femoral neck anteversion using the digital three-dimensional model induced determination method.Methods Ten healthy volunteers,including five men and five women,aged 18-60 years (mean,43 years) were recruited.Bilateral femur CT scan was taken and processed with Mimics 17.0 software to build the three-dimensional model of the femur.Traditional Photoshop and three-dimensional reconstruction techniques were separately applied to determine the femoral neck anteversion.Anteversion angle and measurement time determined with the two methods were compared.Results Anteversion angle was (17.0 ± 4.2) ° based on the Photoshop method and was (17.0 ± 4.2) ° based on the three-dimensional method (P > 0.05).Measuring time was (1,231.5 ± 152.8) sec with the Photoshop method and (590.0 ± 37.2) sec with the three-dimensional method (P < 0.01).Conclusion Both methods provide accurate measuring of the femoral neck anteversion,but three-dimensional measurement spends far less time resulting in improved measure efficiency.
5.Therapeutic analysis of young blepharochalasis

Objective To evaluate the surgical procedures and clinical results to treat the bleph arochalasis.Methods A series of 43 blepharochalasis in 23 patients were surgically treated.A double eyelid fold incision was made.Surgeon clippd redundant skin of upper eyelid with forceps,so that would be excised was marked out.Then redundant skin and muscles as well as hernia septal fat were removed.The lacrimal glands were found and repositioned into lacrimal glands fossa behind superolateral orbital rim.We choose different methods to perform plastic operation in 23 cases of blepharochala sis according to different topographic anatomic characteristics.Results Postoperatively,not only the patients recovered in a followed-up period of 1-3 years,but all lacrimal glands were normally rep soitioned.Conclusions These methods are effective in patients with blepharochalasis and meet the cosmetic demands.Good clinical results in both function and appearance are achieved.
6.Clinical observation of capecitabine as first-line monotherapy in elderly patients with Ⅱa breast cancer

Objective:To observe the clinical effect and adverse reaction of capecitabine as first-line monotherapy in elderly patients with stage Ⅱa breast cancer.Methods:From June 2002 to June 2005,71 elderly patients with stage Ⅱa breast cancer received chemotherapy(different scheme:capecitabine group and CEF group) after operation.The efficacies and adverse reactions were evaluated and compared between the two groups.Results:The 3-year and 5-year survival rates of patients in capecitabine group were 97.06% and 94.12%,respectively; the relapse rate was 5.88%; all were comparable to those of CEF group. One of the advantages of capecitabine was its oral administration. The adverse effect of capecitabine was mainly hand-foot syndrome,with an incidence of 82.35%,but was tolerable. Aim To explore the effect of Osthole (Ost)on the right ventricle remodeling in monocrot-alinetreated rats and the possible mechanism.Meth-ods ♂ SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group,model group,low dose of Ost treatment group (10 mg·kg -1 )and high dose of Ost treatment group (20 mg·kg -1 ).All rats were given a single dose of MCT 50 mg·kg -1 subcutaneously to establish the right ventricle remodeling except normal control group.Then the rats in Ost treatment group were ga-vaged once daily.After 28 days of administration,the right ventricle(RV)and left ventricle plus septum(LV+SEP)were weighed separately.RV hypertrophy in-dex (RVHI)were measured by the relative weight rati-o of RV to LV +SEP.The morphological changes of right ventricle were executed by HE staining.The pro-tein expression of PPARαand PPARγwere detected by Western blot.Results Compared with the control group,RVHI was increased obviously (P <0.05 ), myocardial hypertrophy and structure disorders were observed in model group.The protein expression of PPARαand PPARγwere down-regulated significantly in model group (P <0.05).Compared with the model group,the value of RVHI (P <0.05),myocardial hy-pertrophy,structure disorders were improved signifi-cantly in Ost treatment group.The protein expression of PPARαand PPARγwere up-regulated in Ost treat-ment group (P <0.05).Conclusion Ost can attenu-ate the right ventricle remodeling induced by MCT in rats,which may be related to up-regulating the expres-sion of PPARαand PPARγ.
8.Expression of cyclooxygenase-2 and c-erbB-2 in human breast cancer and their correlationship

Objective:To investigate the expression and correlation of cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) and c-erbB-2 in human breast cancer.Methods: The expressions of COX-2 and c-erbB-2 in 48 breast cancer patients with breast cancer were detected with immunohistochemistry examination and was analyzed.The relationship between their expression and the clinicopathologic characters of breast cancer was also analyzed.Results: The positive rate of COX-2 was 60.4%(29/48) in these patients;the expression was higher in patients with tumor size larger than 2 cm,lymph node metastasis,and negative expression of ER or PR,but was not related with the ages,the pathologic types and the TNM stages.Expression of c-erbB-2 was identified in(39.6%)(19/48) of these patients;the expression was significantly higher in patients with lymph node metastasis or negative expression of ER and PR,but was not related with the ages,the sizes and the pathologic types.COX-2 was positive in 84.2%(16/19) of patients positive of c-erbB-2 and in 44.8%(13/29) of patients negative of c-erbB-2,with significant difference found between the 2 figures(P=0.006).Conclusion: The high expression of COX-2 in breast cancer is related to the expression of c-erbB-2,suggesting that they may regulate each other and jointly contribute to the tumorigenesis and progression of breast cancer.

10.Establishment of a three-dimensional finite element model of ankylosing spondylitis kyphosis

BACKGROUND: The full three-dimensional finite element model can not only establish a realistic three-dimensionalmodel, but also can simulate the osteotomy on the model. Analysis of biomechanics guides the clinical operation.OBJECTIVE: To establish a three-dimensional finite element model of ankylosing spondylitis kyphosis and provide an effective digital platform for further studies.METHODS: A 30-year-old male patient with ankylosing spondylitis kyphosis participated voluntarily in the current study. CTimages obtained from CT transverse scanning from C1 to the sacrococcyx were imported into Mimics 17.0 software toestablish a three-dimensional geometric model of the posterior spine. The geometric model was then imported into Studio Geomagic 2013 software. For the subsequent optimization of image processing, the posterior spine convex geometry wasestablished on the three-dimensional geometric model. We used Unigraphics NX 8.5 to establish the spinal kyphosis surfacemodel, then added modeling of calcification of the ligaments, partial resection of useless sacral bone, and finally, imported themodel into ANSYS 15.0 finite element analysis software, then added the ligaments and set the parameters of the material,generating a complete three-dimensional finite element model of ankylosing spondylitis.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A three-dimensional finite element model of complete ankylosing spondylitis wassuccessfully established. Using the ten-node approach, we generated 398370 tetrahedral elements, and 668538 nodes.This will provide a reliable digital platform for the next step of biomechanical analysis.
