Objective To explore the types, degree and distribution regularities of axial direction in astigmatism preschool children and the relationship of astigmatism and amblyopia. Methods Mydriasis optometry was performed for preschool children in our hospital outpatient reception from 2010 to 2011,and the astigmatism in 831 eyes of 477 cases were statistically analyzed. Results The compound hyperopic astigmatism was the most, accounting for 65.8%,followed by mixed astigmatism (13.8%),simple hyperopia astigmatism (9%),compound myopia astigmatism (8.7%) and simple myopia astigmatism (2.3%). Preschool children astigmatism degree distribution was distributed among 0.50 D and 2.00 D, accounting for 42%. For astigmatism axial, the astigmatism with rule, astigmatism against the rule and oblique astigmatism was accounted for 95.9%, 2.4% and 1.7%, respectively. Conclusion Compound hyperopic astigmatism is a main type of astigmatism in preschool children, and astigmatism is closely related to the formation of amblyopia.

ObjectiveTo assess the specificity of P50 auditory-evoked potential in schizophrenic patients with violent and aggressive behaviors, so as to provide objective biological markers for predicting violent behaviors of schizophrenic patients. MethodsA total of135 schizophrenic patients who met the diagnostic criteria of the International Classification of Diseases, tenth edition (ICD-10) were divided into aggressive group (n=70) and non-aggressive group (n=65) according to the assessment results of the Modified Overt Aggression Scale (MOAS), meantime, another 60 healthy individuals matched for age and gender were set as healthy group. Then the P50 auditory-evoked potentials of all selected individuals were measured using EP/EMG system (MEB-9200, Nihon Kohden, Japan). ResultsAmp S2 of the aggressive group was significantly higher than those of the non-aggressive group and healthy control group, with statistical differences [(9.86±6.04)μV vs. (7.06±3.88)μV, P=0.004; (9.86±6.04)μV vs. (7.82±3.87)μV, P=0.031]. The proportion of S2/S1 ratio ≥0.5 was 72.88%, 43.86% and 30.00% in aggressive group, non-aggressive group and healthy group, which was the highest in aggressive group, with statistical differences (P<0.01). The amplitude difference of P50 (S1-S2) of the aggressive group was lower than those of the non-aggressive group and the healthy control group, the differences were of statistical significance [(4.35±9.39)μV vs.(9.89±8.48)μV, P=0.001; (4.35±9.39)μV vs.(13.42±9.81)μV, P<0.01]. ConclusionThe violent and aggressive behaviors in schizophrenic patients may be related to the sensory gating deficit.

Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of plasma exchange(PE) in the treatment of autoimmune hemolytic anemia in children. Methods:The data from 8 hospitals in China during November 2014 to April 2017 were collected, and the clinical characteristics of PE in children with AHA were analyzed retrospectively. Results:A total of 21 children with AHA were included in the study, including 17 cases from PICU and 4 cases from pediatric kidney ward, with 11 boys and 10 girls, and the median age was 3.64(0.25, 11.10)years old, and median hospital stay was 12(4, 45)days.There were 15 cases(71.4%) with infection, 2 cases(9.5%)with autoimmune diseases, 4 cases(19.0%) with unknown.Consciousness disturbance occurred in 4 patients before replacement and recovered to normal after PE.The volume of blood decreased in two cases(9.5%) and completely relieved. There were 20 cases of anemia (95.2%), 15 cases were normal after PE, and 5 cases were improved.Jaundice occurred in 18 cases (85.7%), 12 cases were normal after PE, 6 cases were improved.Hepatosplenomegaly was found in 11 cases, 10 cases were normal after PE, 1 case was improved. After PE, the hemoglobin and red blood cell count increased, while the total bilirubin, indirect bilirubin, urea nitrogen and lactate dehydrogenase decreased, there were significant differences between pre-and post-replacement ( P<0.05). Only 1 case had allergic reaction, which was improved after symptomatic treatment, and PE was continued. After PE, 2 cases (9.5%) had complete remission, 16 cases (76.2%) had partial remission and 3 cases (14.3%) had been discharged. Conclusion:PE therapy can obviously improve the clinical symptoms and laboratory indexes of children with AHA who have failed to respond to conservative treatment. It can be used as a treatment measure for children with severe AHA and has a good safety.
