Objective:To observe the expression of nuclear factor-kappa B( NF-κB) in rats with acute lung injury ( ALI) caused by oleic acid ( OA) and investigate the protective effect of puerarin ( Pue) in ALI. Methods:Twenty-four rats were randomly divided into three groups:the control group, OA group and Pue group. Morphological changes in lung tissues were observed under a light mi-croscope and the expression of NF-κB in lung tissues were examined. Results:Morphological changes in lung tissues showed that pul-monary inflammation was relieved in Pue group compared with that in OA group. Compared with the control group, the expression of NF-κB was increased obviously in OA group (0. 39 ± 0. 07 vs 0. 12 ± 0. 04, P<0. 05), and that was decreased obviously in Pue group (0. 24 ± 0. 05), which was still higher than that in the control group (P<0. 05). Conclusion:Puerarin can alleviate the inflammation reaction in ALI through inhibiting the expression of NF-κB.

Objective To investigate the effect of different intestinal cleaning methods on bowel preparation for laparoscopic peritoneal vaginoplasty. Methods One hundred patients undergoing laparoscopic peritoneal vaginoplasty were divided into experiment group and control group with 50 cases in each group .For bowel preparation, the experiment group was managed with oral sodium phosphate salt solution of 45 mL and the control group with oral senna leaf of 30 g in boiled water. The two groups were compared in terms of intestinal cleaning degree, adverse reactions and postoperative exhaust time. Results The incidence of adverse reactions in the former group was significantly lower than the control group.Degree of bowel cleaning satisfaction was significantly better than that of the control group and the postoperative exhaust was significantly earlier than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The method of oral sodium phosphate salt solution for bowel preparation for laparoscopic peritoneal vaginoplasty can improves the intestinal cleanliness, reduce incidence of intestinal adverse reaction and promote postoperative exhaust so that it can improve postoperative intestinal restoration of kinetic energy.

Journal of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(5):929-933
Objective To prepare celastrol ethosomes and to observe the permeability characteristics of the ethosomes which act as the transdermal delivery carriers of celastrol in vitro. Methods Celastrol ethosomes were prepared by ethanol injection method, and then the encapsulation efficiency, particle size, polydispersity index ( PDI) and zeta potential of the ethosomes were analyzed. TP2A intelligent percutaneous penetration instrument was used to compare the skin penetration properties of celastrol ethosomes, celastrol solution and the mixture of blank ethosomes with celastrol solution. Results The prepared celastrol ethosomes were spherical, and the average particle size was (401.3 ± 5.5) nm, PDI was 0.21± 0.02, steady zeta potential was (-2.75 ± 0.1) mV, and average encapsulation efficiency was ( 80.6 ± 0.7) %. The amount of accumulative penetration of celastrol ethosomes at 48 h was 76.86 μg·cm -2 and the permeation rate was 1.640 9 μg·cm -2·h -1, which were significantly higher than the celastrol solution and the mixture of blank ethosomes with celastrol solution. Conclusion The prepared ethosomes have high encapsulation efficiency, uniform particle size and stable quality, and are beneficial to the transdermal absorption of celastrol.

Objective To determine the relationship between zinc and nutritional status or immunity in patients with end-stage renal disease undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). Methods Forty-five stable CAPD patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis were enrolled in this study. The dietary zinc intake and serum zinc levels were investigated, and the results were compared with the gender- and age-matched healthy populations (n = 45). The relationship between dietary zinc intake and serum zinc levels and subjective global assessment (SGA) score, blood cell counts, serum albumin (ALB), prealbumin (PA), C-reactive protein (CRP),and lymphocyte subsets were analyzed. Results The percentages of inadequate dietary zinc intake (P= 0. 007)and low blood zinc (P = 0. 036) were significantly higher in CAPD patients than in healthy group. CD8 levels were significantly lower (P = 0. 000) while CD4/CD8 ratio was significantly higher (P = 0. 033) in CAPD patients than in healthy group. In CAPD patients, correlation analysis showed that dietary zinc intake was significantly correlated with serum prealbumin levels (r = 0. 577, P = 0. 000), but was negatively correlated with SGA score (r = - 0.354,P = 0. 015) and CRP (r = - 0.354, P = 0. 015); however, it was not significantly correlated with lymphocyte subsets and CD4/CD8 ratio. Serum zinc level was significantly positively correlated with hemoglobin (r= 0. 411, P=0.005), hematocrit (r=0.345, P=0.023), WBC (r=0.318, P=0.035), SGA score (r=0.417, P=0. 005), and CRP (r=0.342, P = 0. 027), but was not significantly correlated with lymphocyte subsets and CD4/CD8 ratio. Conclusions Zinc deficiency is common among patients with CAPD. Adequate dietary zinc intake can facilitate protein synthesis and improve the overall nutritional status. High serum zinc concentrations are beneficial for the synthesis of hemoglobin and the improvement of anemia.

Objective To investigate the skin reactions induced by to pical 0.1% tretinoin and its vehicle in mice. Methods 0.1% tretinoin and its v ehicle were applied separately on mice backs, once a day for 30 days. The skin r eactions, including erythema and scaling, were observed macroscopically and meas ured by biological instruments. Results Macroscopically the skin reactions of erythema and scaling induced by topical tretinoin occurred on day 3 after applic ation, reached its peak on day 6 and disappeared on day 12,and neither erythema nor abnormal scaling appeared in spite of continuing application until day 30.The erythema value measured was enhanced significantly on day 1 after applicatio n,reached its peak on day 6,maintained until day 9 and became normal on day 11.From then to day 30,it maintained at the normal level. The scaling value measu red enhanced significantly on day 3 after application, reached its peak on day 9 and became normal on day 27.Topical application of the vehicle induced neither skin reaction nor any change of erythema and scaling value. Conclusions Topic al application of 0.1% tretinoin induces skin reaction characterized by erythema and scaling. The reaction, transient but not related to the vehicle, experience s a process of "occurrence-peak-disappearance".

Chinese Journal of Medical Ultrasound (Electronic Edition) 2014;(1):44-47
Objective To summarize the echocardiographic characteristics and clinical signiifcance of prenatal diagnosis of coronary artery ifstula (CAF). Methods Images and follow-up results of ifve fetuses with CAF diagnosed by fetal echocardiography between January, 2011 and December, 2012 in our department were reviewed. Results Echocardiographic characteristics of CAF were a dilated coronary artery in the four chamber view and the left ventricular outlfow tract view. Track the course of the dilated coronary artery can conifrm the oriifce of the ifstula. Among the ifve cases, the oriifce of the ifstula included the aortic root of left ventricular outlfow tract, right atrium side of interatrial septum, the entrance of superior vena cava to right atrium, right ventricular apex and right ventricle cone. The colour Doppler lfow imaging showed turbulence in the dilated coronary artery. The spectral Doppler with the sampling gate in coronary artery showed the characteristic bidirectional lfow pattern. One case was associated with other complex intracardiac abnormalities and one case with persistent left superior vena cava. Among the ifve cases of CAF diagnosed by fetal echocardiography, one case was missed and four cases were conifrmed by postnatal echocardiography. Conclusion Coronary artery ifstula has special fetal echocardiographic characteristics. The fetal echocardiography plays an important role in early detection, diagnosis and treatment of CAF.
