1.Pharmacotherapy of Nicotine Dependence.
Journal of the Korean Medical Association 2002;45(6):666-675
Cigarette smoking is the most important preventable cause of death in Korea. Smoking should be considered as a chronic disease attributed to nicotine dependence which needs a long term care. Nicotine dependence and withdrawal symptoms are major barriers to smoking cessation and can be successfully managed by pharmacotherapy. There are two types of pharmacotherapy for nicotine dependence, nicotine-replacement therapy(NRT) and nonnicotine-replacement therapy. Nicotine, which can be administered by patch, gum, inhaler, and nasal spray, doubled the smoking cessation rate. NRTs are usually well tolerated. Sustained-release bupropion, an antidepressant, doubled the smoking cessation rate when combined with counselling. Bupropion can induce seizure in less than 0.1% by lowering the seizure threshold. Nortriptyline and clonidine can be used as second line drugs for smoking cessation. They are similar in efficacy compared to NRT or bupropion but they frequently have adverse drug reactions. Combination of bupropion with NRT is more efficacious than NRT alone but not more effective than bupropion alone. There is no convincing evidence to recommend a specific drug for smoking cessation in women. NRT and bupropion can be useful in special situations for adolescent smokers, but evidence is not enough to recommend pharmacotherapy for adolescent smokers. Weight gain is the main barrier to smoking cessation, especially in women. Vigorous exercise reduced weight gain. Nicotine gum, bupropion also temporarily reduced weight gain after smoking cessation, but only while the drug was being administered. As there are sound evidences for the effect of pharmacotherapy in smoking cessation, it is necessary for physicians to integrate it into their daily practices.

4.Progress in the treatment of female sexual dysfunction.
National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(3):195-200
With the progress of society and development of sexual medicine, the therapeutic effects of female sexual dysfunction (FSD) have been improved increasingly. This review summarizes the basic therapeutic approaches to FSD, including psychotherapy, sexual behavior therapy, mechanical skills, life style adjustment, physical exercise, acupuncture, medication, surgery, and gene therapy. It also points out the objective understanding of the limitations of the available therapeutic methods, with stress on patient-oriented comprehensive therapeutic principles and increased attention to recognition education among the patients so as to improve the present status of FSD treatment.

5.Effect of femoral offset on hip joint function reconstruction after arthroplasty in femoral neck fractures
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2008;10(8):711-714
Objective To study the effect of femoral offset reconstruction ON the Harris hip score and the hip ROM (range of motion) after artificial hip replacement in femoral neck fractures. Methods Follow-ups were conducted for 47 patients who had undergone artificial hip replacements for their unilateral femoral neck fractures. We took X-ray pictures to compare the femoral offsets at the affected and unaffected hips. The operated hips were evaluated by the Harris hip score. Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS l2.0 software. Results The Harris hip score of the operated hip was positively related to femoral offset reconstruction(t=7.25,P<0.001).There was a significant and positive correlation between femoral offset and the hip abductor ROM(r=0.80,P<0.001).The rate of femoral offset reconstruction had no significant difference between total hip arthroplasty and bipolar hip arthroplasty (χ2=0,P>0.05).Conclusions Reconstruction of femoral offset after artificial hip replacement in the femoral neck fractures can improve funetional recovery and ROM of the hip. Femoral offset reconstruction is uncorrelated to the selection of total hip arthroplasty or bipolar hip arthroplasty.
6.Nosocomial Infection in Psychiatry Department: A Clinical Investigation and Analysis
Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 1994;0(01):-
OBJECTIVE To explore the incidence of the nosocomial infection in patients with mental diseases,(analyze) the correlative factors and then reduce the incidence.(METHODS) By using the retrospective method, the(inpatient) cases in psychiatry department from Jan 2000 to Dec 2004 were surveyed and statistically analyzed.(RESULTS) There were 313 cases of nosocomial infection from 9 089 inpatients with mental diseases. The infection rate was(3.44%.) The total rate had been dropped year by year. The major sites of the infection were the(upper)(respiratory) tract(34.82%),the gastrointestinal tract(20.45%) and the urinary system(18.53%).The(infection) rate in ladies patient area(3.83%) was significantly higher than that of gentlemen patient area(3.07%)(P
7.Effects of rocuronium on micro-endplate potential and endplate potential in isolated diaphragmatic muscle preparation of rat
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1982;0(01):-
Objective To investigate the effects of rocuronium on the neuromuscular junction of rat diaphragm. Methods One hundred and sixty rats were used in the study which was approved by the Animal Care Committee of the General Hospital of PLA. In isolated non-uniformly stretched muscle preparation (INSMP) of rat diaphragm, micro-endplate potentials (MEPP) and endplate potentials (EPP) were recorded simultaneously with one microelectrode of one endplate. The effects of rocuronium in dosages of 2.5, 5, 10, 20?g/ml on the amplitude and frequency of MEPP and the amplitude of EPP were observed. Results Rocuronium could decrease both the amplitude and frequency of MEPP obviously and the onset time was 1min after drug administration. The amplitude of EPP was depressed by rocuronium in a dose of 5?g/ml at 3min. Neither 2.5?g/ml nor 0.5?g/ml of rocuronium produced any effect on the amplitude of EPP. Conclusion The results indicated that rocuronium might produce a rapid and early presynaptic effect on neuromuscular junction in INSMP in rats.
8.Diagnostic significance of blink reflex in cranial Guillain-Barré Syndrome
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2001;23(2):96-98
Objective To study diagnostic significance of blink reflex(BR) in cranial Guillain-Barré Syndrome (cGBS). Methods A comparative study was carried out on BR in 7 cGBS cases and 39 normal subjects. Results As compared with controls, the cGBS group showed significant differences on latency and amplitude of R1,R2i, R2c component of BR,M wave and R1 conduction time (R1CT) inside the cranial part(P<0.001). Conclusion The result suggested that BR and facial electromyogram were of great significance in the diagnosis of cGBS and might provide an objective index for clinical differential diagnosis.
9.Reliability evaluation of the blast/abnormal lymphocyte alarm tested through white precursor cell (WPC) channel on the Sysmex XN-9000 analyzer
Chinese Journal of Clinical Laboratory Science 2017;35(2):101-104
Objective To evaluate the reliability of the white precursor cell (WPC) channel on the Sysmex XN-9000 hematology analyzer (XN-9000) in giving the abnormal white blood cell (WBC) alarm. Methods A total of 520 blood samples with abnormal WBC alarm from the Sysmex XE-2100 (XE-2100) and XN-9000 were performed the manual peripheral blood smear review, and their results were analyzed. Results The specificity of the XN-9000 WPC channel in the blast alarm was significantly higher than that of XE-2100 (x2 =6.98,P<0.05),while the false positive rate of the XN-9000 (36%) significantly lower than that of XE-2100 (64%,x2 =6.18,P < 0.05).The overall efficiency of the XN-9000 WPC channel in identifying blasts and abnormal lymphocytes (90.4% and 94.4%) was significantly higher than that of the XE-2100 (72.2% and 80.1%,x2 =5.6 and 6.33,P < 0.05).Under the automatic reflex analysis mode of WPC channel, the specificity and overall efficiency of the WPC channel in identifying blasts and abnormal lymphoeytes of all the detected samples were significantly higher than those of the WDF channel (x2 =6.15,4.14,6.02 and 4.88,P <0.05).The total review rate of the XN-9000 (WDF/WPC) was significantly lower than that of the XE-2100 (x2 =4.33,P < 0.05).Similarly,the review rate of the XN-9000 for the blast/abnormal lymphocyte alarm (84/260,32%) was significantly lower than that of the XE-2100 (107/260,41%) (x2 =4.38,P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with the XE-2100,the XN-9000 WPC channel can improve the overall efficiency of the blast/abnormal lymphocyte alarm, reduce the false positive rate and the review rate, and then improve the efficiency of clinical laboratories.
10.Protective effects of artemisinin challenged with CpG DNA in mice
Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2000;0(03):-
AIM: To investigate the protective effects of artemisinin on mice and its inhibition effects on the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines challenged with CpG DNA. METHODS: A total of 60 mice of Kunming species were randomly divided into six groups. Animals received an intraperitoneal injection of D-galactosamine (D-Gal, 600 mg?kg -1) 1 hour prior to intravenous injection of CpG DNA. CpG DNA group received CpG DNA at 4 mg?kg -1 via caudal vein, artemisinin group were orally administered artemisinin at 200 mg?kg -1, CpG DNA plus artemisinin group first received artemisinin at 50, 100, and 200 mg?kg -1, respectively, then received CpG DNA at 4 mg?kg -1, and the control group received the saline only. The mortality was observed within seven days after injection. RAW 264.7 cell lines were cultivated in vitro and stimulated by CpG DNA to release TNF-? and IL-6, then various concentrations of artemisinin were administrated to observe its dose-dependent inhibitory effect, and artemisinin were also added at different time to observe the time-dependent effect. Contents of cytokines in culture supernatant were detected by ELISA. RESULTS: Different concentrations of artemisinin decreased the death of mice challenged with CpG DNA, and the mortality were dropped from 80% to 10% (P
