Objective To observe the effects of Chinese herbal meridian and vessel deoppilant compound on the dysfunction of endothelium-dependent dilation (EDD) of simple obesity patients, and explore its mechanism. Methods Sixty-five obese patients with dysfunction of EDD (denoted by FMD: flow mediated brachial artery vasodilatation rate) were found through the prehminary high-resolution vascular ultrasound check, and randomized into the therapy group (treated with Chinese herbal meridian and vessel deoppilant compound) and the control group. The therapy group took Xinxiang Shuluo 2# capsules three times a day, 3 gram each time, and the control group was given the same doses of starch capsules. The experiment lasted 12 weeks. Before and after the experiment, FMD and inner diameter of brachial arteries (DO) of all the patients were measured, and the changes of total cholesterol (TC) and trigiyceride (TG) in serum were compared. Results FMD of the therapy group was significantly higher than the control group (P

Objective To study the effects of resveratrol against toxicity induced by arsenic trioxide in rats. Methods Arsenic trioxide was given to SD rats intraperitoneally for 4 weeks.Resveratrol was injected intraperitoneally to the animals 4 h before arsenic trioxide challenge at dose of 30,60,or 120 mg?kg-1?d-1.Four weeks later, the contents of malondialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD),nitric oxide(NO),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) in serum, lung, spleen, liver and brain tissues were measured. Results Compared with the normal control rats, arsenic trioxide challenge resulted in increases of NO and MDA contents in serum, lung, spleen, liver and brain tissues, and decreases of GSH-Px and SOD levels in the rats received arsenic trioxide only.Resveratrol significantly inhibited these changes induced by arsenic trioxide in rat serum, lung, spleen, liver and brain tissues in a dose-dependent manner. Conclusion Resveratrol can protect antiperoxidase activity and inhibit peroxide productions.
5.Spiral CT Manifestations of Blunt Liver Trauma
Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2003;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the spectrum of spiral CT imaging findings of blunt liver trauma. Methods Clinical data of 17 patients with blunt liver trauma were retrospectively collected. All patients underwent standardized spiral CT examination of the upper abdomen, which include plain scan, arterial phase and portal venous phase acquisition. The morphology, density and integrity of liver parenchyma and intrahepatic venous structures were carefully observed, as well as regions of porta hepatis, peritoneal cavity and retroperitoneal space. Results Twelve cases (70.6%) developed hepatic parenchymal laceration. There were 9 cases (52.9%) of traumatic hematoma, among which 5 were intraparenchymal and 4 were subcapsular. One case (5.9%) showed active bleeding within an intrahepatic hematoma, while two cases (11.8%) had injury (laceration) of hepatic veins. There were 7 patients (41.2%) who demonstrated the so-called “halo sign” around the intrahepatic portal branches. Thirteen patients were associated with peritoneal fluid (blood) collection, 3 with hematoma or hemorrhage of the right adrenal gland, 8 with plural effusion and 3 cases with rib fractures of right lower chest. Conclusion CT imaging findings of blunt liver trauma include parenchymal laceration, intraparenchymal and /or subcapsular hematomas, active hemorrhage, and tear of hepatic veins. Plain CT scan and contrast-enhanced dual-phase acquisition is very important for the comprehensive evaluation of patients with blunt liver trauma.

8. Advances in the research of reciprocal interconnections between DNA methylation and microRNA regulation in hepatocellular carcinoma
Tumor 2012;32(6):471-474
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the major type of primary liver cancer and also one of the most malignant tumors in human beings. The mechanism of HCC development has not been clarified. Epigenetic mechanism may play a key role in the development and progression of cancer. The research on the regulation of miRNAs (microRNAs) and the methylation of DNA belongs to the scope of epigenetics. Studies have shown that DNA methylation and miRNA may play a crucial role during the hepatocarcinogenesis respectively or synergistically. MiRNAs comprise many species of short non-coding RNA which regulate the gene expression post-transcriptionally. Studies have demonstrated that DNA methylation and histone modification not only regulate the expression of protein-encoding genes, but also regulate the expression of miRNAs. Some miRNAs such as miR-125b, miR-1-1, miR-124, miR-203 and miR-191 aberrantly expressed in HCC were regulated by epigenetic mechanism. Furthermore, another subset of miRNAs controls the expressions of key molecules in epigenetic pathways, and sequentially alters the epigenetic status of the whole genome. This review summarizes the advances in the research of reciprocal interconnections between DNA methylation and microRNA regulation in the development and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma. © 2012 by Tumor.
