Methoxyadiantifoline 10 mg/kg i.v. significantly increased the arrhythmia- inducing dose of aconitine in anaesthetized rats, and that of ouabain in anaesthetized guinea pigs. It markedly prevented ventr icular fibrillation induced by chloroform. Methoxyadiantifoline is also effective in preventing reperfusion-induced arrhythmias in anaesthetized rats. It was demonstrated that methoxyadiantifoline slowed heart rate significantly, and prolonged P-R and Q-Tc interval of ECG in rats.

BACKGROUND: The p27, one of the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors in renal disease, regulates cell growth through affecting cellular events. Abundant evidence has suggested that p27 has great role in regulating re nal cell proliferation, hypertrophy, differentiation and apoptosis, etc. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationship of protein 27 expressions in renal tissue with cell proliferation and apoptosis. DESIGN: Completely randomized grouping design, control animal experi ment. SETTING: Nephrology Laboratory, Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. MATERIALS: This experiment was carried out at Nephrology Laboratory of Internal Medicine, Tongji Hospital and Micro-Pathology Center in Tongji Medical College from September 2004 to January 2005. A total of 48 adult male SD rats were enrolled, all belonged to cleaning grade. METHODS: ①Establishing diabetic models: diabetic rat models were es tablished with streptozotocin, 60 mg/Kg, given through intraperitoneal in. Jection in the experimental group. Blood glucose and urine glucose from caudal vein were measured after 48 hours. Animals in experimental group whose random serum glucose at least 16.7 mmol/L and urine glucose ()- ()-() were regarded as successful models. ②Six rats in experimental group and the control group, respectively were sacrificed in the experimental pe riod of the 3rd, 7th, 14th and 28th days. Before sacrificed, creatinine clearance (Ccr) was measured. Concentration of Retinal binding protein (Rbp) in urine was measured. Proteinuric elements were analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrlamide gelelectrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). ③Renal tissues were observed pathologic changes through light microscopy and electronic mi croscopy. ④Expression of p27 and proliferation cellnuclear antigen (PC NA) were detected by immunohistochemical staining method, and apoptosis was determined by Terminal deoxynucleotidy 1 transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL). We use positive glomerular cells / total glomerular cells to present positive rate and apoptosis rate. ⑤The data were analyzed for statistically significant group difference using unpaired t test and Spearman correlative-analysis. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Renal function, urine protein, p27 ex pression in glomerular cells, positive rate and apoptosis rate of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) expression and compared with the control group. RESULTS: Totally 48 rats were involved in the result analysis. ①Changes of pathology: At the 7th day after establishing models, glomerular hypertro phy was found through light microscopy and focal fusion of epithelial foot processes through electron microscopy. At the 14th day, mesangial region, which kept expanding through electronic microscopy, was seen under electron microscope. At the 28th day, slight segmental hypercellularity be gan to show in light microscopy. ②Ccr and Rbp levels of diabetic rats were higher significantly than those in the control group at the 7th, 14th and 28th days (t=2.143-3.004,P ＜ 0.05 ). The results of SDS-PAGE showed that middle and low molecular protein could be observed in every group from the 3rd day. ③The level of p27 expression in glomerular cells were lower obviously at the 3rd day(t=2.536,P ＜ 0.05), but higher at the 7th, 14th and 28th days in diabetic rats, which was higher remarkably than that in the control group (t=2.704-2.823,P ＜ 0.05). The number of PCNA positive cell in diabetic glomerulus became the largest at the 3rd day, then decreased continuously, it was still higher than that in the control group at the 7th dan 14th days (t=2.681,2.525,P ＜ 0.05), but became normal at day 28. The number of TUNEL positive cells in glomerulus also increased significantly at the 3rd day (t=2.764,P ＜ 0.05), but it was smaller than that in the control group at the 7th, 14th and 28th days(t=2.096-2.627,P ＜ 0.05). ④The level of p27 expression and the number of PCNA positive cells in glomerulus were negative correlated (r=-0.446, P ＜ 0.05). The level of p27 expression and the number of TUNEL positive cells in glomerulus were also negative correlated (r=-0.517, P ＜ 0.05).CONCLUSION: Functional impairment of reabsorption induced by proximal convoluted renal tubule and high filtering of glomerulus in early diabetics occurs synchronously. Protein p27 may be participated in the occurring and developing of diabetic nephropathy by checking of proliferation and apoptosis of renal cell in the early stage of diabetes.

The lack of organs has been an crucial limiting factor for Chinese organ transplantation,thus it is in urgent need to effectively increase the number of donor organs.This article holds that,besides through publicity and education to promote unpaid voluntary organ donation,some incentive mechanisms are also required to serve as useful complements.Therefore,organs' origin can be expanded to a certain extent,and the intense supply and demand in organ transplantation can also be eased.Unifying organ transplantation practice in China,this paper explains the necessity of organ donation incentive mechanisms from both theoretical and practical significances,reveals the main elements of the incentive mechanisms,and explores the realization means.

Methoxyadiantifoline ( MAF) is a new alkloid isolated from Thalictrum Omeience W.T.Wang.During 3 min reperfusion after 10 min of coronary ligation, MAF 5 ?mol/L significantly decreased the incidence of isolated rat hearts with ventricular arrhythmias ( VF and VT ) . It delayed the onset of ventricular fibrillation and shortened its duration and markedly prolonged the time of normal sinus rhythm. It also significantly decreased the release of LDH from the myocardium in isolated rat hearts. In addition , MAF 5 ?mol/L could decrease the heart rate and coronary resistance. The results suggest that MAF possessed protective effects on the reperfusion injury in isolated rat hearts.

Objective To Identify B-cell epitopes on monkey B virus envelope protein gD.Methods Base on bioinformatics software, secondary structure, hydrophilicity, surface accessibility, antigenic index and flexibility of monkey B virus envelope protein gD was analysed and some potential peptide epitopes were forecasted.Then, the interactions between synthetic peptides and BV positive sera were detected by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay ( ELISA) .At last, The sensitivity and specificity of synthetic peptides was evaluated used 20 samples of Standard sera by ELISA.Result Seven epitopes were forecasted by Bioinformatics analysis. Four synthetic peptides, sequence as 46 LPPLEQKTD54 , 106 RGAPEATRSDA116 , 291 PELAPEERGTSRTPGD306 and 361 AVYLVRRRGR370 could be reacted with positive sera pool.The sensitivity of 4 synthetic peptides changed form 40% to 70% and the specificity were 100% for 4 synthetic peptides. Conclusion There are at least four linear epitope on B virus gD protein.

Objective To investigate sexual life associated with hysterectomy of young women and its related factors.Methods Data from 199 patients with hysterectomy were collected.Statistical analysis was performed between the postoperative recovery condition among them,including daily life and sex life.Results There was significant difference on sexual life quality of the patients by hysterectomy among patient age,occupation,education,postoperative time,disease and complication (P ＜ 0.05).The age of 41-50 years and 51-60 years old patients' quality of life satisfaction was significantly higher than that of age ≤40 years old patients (OR =3.8,95 ％ CI 1.36-10.66; OR =3.6,95 ％ CI 1.24-10.43).The patients of the occupation of service sectors,workers,and patients with free occupation have a decreased satisfactions compared with that of farmer patients (OR =0.46,95 ％ CI 0.12-1.75; OR =0.75,95 ％ CI 0.27-2.12; OR =0.94 95 ％ CI 0.45-1.98).There was a increasing satisfactions in administrative and the intellectuals (OR =1.11,95 ％ CI 0.34-3.62; OR =1.33,95 ％ CI 0.35-5.10).Patients with primary school educations as a reference for comparison,the quality of life of patients with associated college and above degree were increased than patients with primary school (OR =1.15,95 ％ CI 0.43-3.04),and were decreased in the patients of the high and middle school (OR =0.98,95 ％ CI 0.46-2.11; OR =0.63,95 ％ CI 0.26-1.54; OR =0.15,95 ％ CI 0.02-1.27).The quality of life satisfaction of long period patients (7-12 months,13-24 months,24 months after the operation)was significantly higher than that of short period patients with 6 months(OR =1.94,95 ％ CI 0.65-5.83; OR =6.32,95 ％ CI 2.17-18.38; OR =8.47,95 ％ CI 2.92-24.56,P ＜ 0.001).Conclusion The doctors need focus on relative knowledge education of perioperation.It is important to inform patients and their spouses to have the knowledge of female physiology,fully understanding the impact of the extent of surgery on sexual life of patients to enhance the confidence and improve the life quality of patients.

[Objective] To investigate the effect of Kun'an Granule (KG) on serum hormone level in rats with hyperprolactinemia [ Methods ] Rats were randomized to five groups: group A ( mimic operation) , group B (model control), group C (bromocriptine), group D (low-dose KG) and group E (high-dose KG). Except group A, the other four groups were implanted with pituitary for modeling. Group C was treated with bromocriptine 1 mg/kg, group D with gastric infusion of KG 4 g/kg and group E with KG 12 g/kg. The treatment lasted 34 days. Serum levels of prolactin (PRL), testosterone (T), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and estrogen (E2) were detected before and after treatment and the differences between groups were compared. AIM: To study the possibility that yellow wine improves the pathological changes of atherosclerosis in vivo. METHODS: Six weeks old LDL receptor knockout mice (n=48) on a high-fat and L-methionine diet developed plasma hyperhomocysteinemia and atherosclerosis. The animals were randomly divided into yellow wine group, red wine group, ethanol group and control group (n=12 in each group) and were sacrificed after 14 weeks. The levels of plasma lipids and homocysteine in serum were examined. The morphological changes of aorta artery and the atherosclerosis of aorta sinus were observed under microscope. The expression and activation of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) were determined by the method of immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: No significant difference of plasma total cholesterol, triglyceride or high density lipoprotein cholesterol among groups was observed. Plasma homocysteine was significantly decreased in yellow wine group as compared to other three groups (P<0.01). Compared to ethanol and control groups, use of yellow wine and red wine significantly reduced the atherosclerosis lesion area (P<0.01). However, no significant discrepancy between the yellow wine group and red wine group was found. Compared to control group, the expression of MMP-2 in yellow wine group, red wine group and ethanol group decreased by 26.3%, 27.6% (P<0.01) and 5.7% (P>0.05), respectively. The activity of MMP-2 in yellow wine group, red wine group and ethanol group decreased by 31.7%, 32.5% (P<0.01) and 6.7% (P>0.05), respectively. CONCLUSION: Yellow wine and red wine inhibit the expression of MMP-2 and improve the pathologic changes of atherosclerosis, indicating that they have benefic effects on cardiovascular system.

Objective To investigate the current status of compliance with hand hygiene among health care work-ers (HCWs)in a comprehensive hospital in Xi’an.Methods Status of hand hygiene among HCWs in 73 clinical de-partments was observed directly.Results 404 moments for hand hygiene of 404 HCWs were observed,255 times of hand hygiene were implemented,181 times of hand hygiene were correct,the total compliance rate was 63.12%, and correct rate was 44.80%.Compliance rate and correct rate of hand hygiene of HCWs in intensive care unit were both higher than general wards (91.89% vs 60.22%,χ2 =14.485,P <0.001;81.08% vs 41.14%,χ2 =5.671,P=0.017).Among HCWs of different occupations,compliance rate and correct rate of hand hygiene of nurses were both the highest (73.76% and 60.18% respectively),while auxiliary persons were both the lowest (40.90% and 10.20% respectively);among five moments for hand hygiene,compliance rate was highest after body fluid and blood exposure (80.00%),correct rate was highest before aseptic procedure (62.96%).Conclusion There is a high compliance rate and low correct rate of hand hygiene among HCWs in this hospital.Compliance rate and correct rate of hand hygiene among HCWs in different departments,different occupations and different hand hygiene moments are varied,compliance with hand hygiene among HCWs should be paid extensive attention.
