1."Discussion on Shengyang Sanhuo Decoction with Plum-blossom Needle Therapy for Hemodialysis Patients with Restless Legs Syndrome from ""Yin Fire"" Theory"
Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;24(6):119-120
Restless legs syndrome is one of the common complications of maintenance hemodialysis. At present, there is no exact efficacy of Western medicine treatment. Deficiency of spleen and kidney, and deficiency of qi and blood are the TCM pathogenesis for this syndrome. LI Dong-yuan's theory of Yin Fire based on deficiency of spleen and stomach, down in the kidney, and clear Yang not rising. The creation of Shengyang Sanhuo Decoction can enrich Yang Dao and scatter Yin Fire. Yang three needles can warm yang, tonify qi and invigorate the kidney, and has a yang from yin therapeutic effect. Syndrome differentiation of medicine and acupuncture is consistent with the pathogenesis of restless legs syndrome in hemodialysis patients. It can provide new ideas and new targets for optimization of TCM treatment, and provide low cost, simple and effective treatment mode for primary hospitals.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the effects of alendronate sodium on bone mineral density (BMD) and bone marker in prostate cancer elderly patients after medical castration therapy. METHODS:In perspective study,84 elderly patients undergoing medical castration therapy were selected and divided into treatment group(45 cases)and control group(39 cases)according to ran-dom number table. Control group received medical castration therapy+Calcium carbonate D3 tablets,1 tablet,po,qn;treatment group was additionally given Alendronate sodium tablets 70 mg,po,once a week,1 week after routine treatment,on the basis of control group. Treatment course of 2 groups lasted for 12 months. The levels of 25-OH-D,testosterone,BMD and bone marker were observed in 2 groups, and the occurrence of ADR was recorded. RESULTS:3 cases of treatment group and 1 case of control group dropped out of the study. Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in above indexes between 2 groups (P>0.05). After treatment,25-OH-D levels of 2 groups were increased slightly, but there was no statistical significance(P>0.05);tes-tosterone level of 2 groups were decreased significantly compared to before treatment, with statistical significance (P<0.05). 12 months after treatment,BMD of lumbar vertebra, collum femoris and hip were increased significantly in treatment group, while those were decreased significantly in control group;there was statistical significance in above indexes between 2 groups(P<0.05). The levels of N-terminal midfragment of osteocalcin, procollagen Ⅰ N-terminal propeptide and β-crosslaps were decreased signifi-cantly in treatment group, while those were increased significantly in control group;there was statistical significance in above in-dexes between 2 groups (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Alendronate sodium can prevent bone loss and reduce the rate of bone turnover in elderly patients with prostate cancer receiving medical castration therapy.

Objective To observe protective and repairing effect of Aorui Gel on esophageal mucosa injury in reflux esophagitis rats. Methods Rat models of reflux esophagitis were established by partial pylori ligation plus cardiomyotomy. Model control group,low-,middle-and high-dose Aorui Gel groups, positive control group, excipient control group and sham operation group were set up. Rats were treated with the corresponding drugs 7 days after operation. After treatment for 14 days, the rats'general state, and macroscopic features and pathological features of esophageal mucosa were compared. Results Macroscopic features and pathological features of esophageal mucosa in Aorui Gel groups differed from those in the model control group, inflammation of esophageal mucosa in Aorui Gel groups was alleviated, and pathological features were relieved and arrived to the normal state. Conclusion Aorui Gel can alleviate esophageal mucosa injury in reflux esophagitis rats, indicating that Aorui Gel has protective and repairing effect on esophageal mucosa injury.

Human adenovirus (HAdV) is one of the most important pathogens in infants and young children with acute respiratory infections and other diseases. This article reviews the literature on HAdV, including its molecular biological characteristics, detection and typing, and pathogenic mechanism, the clinical features and epidemiological characteristics of HAdV-related diseases, and the prevention and control of HAdV infections. So far, 67 types of HAdV have been identified, including recombinant variants discovered in recent years. The major epidemic strains that cause acute respiratory infections are HAdV-3 and HAdV-7, both of which belong to the subgroup B. HAdV often leads to acute respiratory infections, but it also causes diseases of other systems. HAdV-related diseases have similar clinical manifestations as those caused by other respiratory viruses, but often accompanied by gastrointestinal symptoms. The pathogenic mechanism of HAdV remains unclear, especially for the new recombinant variants, due to few studies on their association with diseases. Because there are no prospective, large randomized controlled trials of HAdV infections, the treatment of HAdV infections is controversial. Vaccine is the most effective measure to reduce respiratory HAdV infections, but it is still not commercially available.
