Objective To investigate the relationship between the expression of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and the angiogenesis in human malignant melanoma (MM). Methods Tissue sections from 31 MM patients were examined. The protein expression of eNOS and VEGF was detected using immunohistochemistry technique and morphological quantitative analysis. Microvessel density (MVD) was also counted by immunostaining with anti-FⅧRAg antibody. Results (1)The positive staining of eNOS and VEGF was detected in 71.4% (24 cases) and 83.9% (26 cases) of MM respectively. As negative control there was no staining in the nevus pigmentosus tissue sections. (2)There was a positive correlation between the expression of eNOS and VEGF in MM. (3)The positive correlation was also found between the MVD and the expression of eNOS and VEGF in MM. The number of MVD was higher in MM than that in nevus pigmentosus tissue. (4)The lymphatic metastasis was not correlated with the expression of eNOS and VEGF. Conclusion The number of the MVD increases along with the high expression of eNOS and VEGF in MM.

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic effect of Yangxue Tongluo Recipe (YTR) combined with immunosuppressive agents in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

METHODSTotally 88 RA patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group [47 cases, YTR combined Methotrexate (MTX) + Leflunomide (LEF) treatment] and the control group (41 cases, MTX + LEF therapy). All patients received 12-week treatment. Clinical symptoms and signs, laboratory tests [erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), rheumatoid factor (RF), and C reactive protein (CRP)], and adverse reactions were observed before and after treatment.

RESULTSThe total effective rate was 91.5% (43/47 cases) in the treatment group, and the total effective rate was 75.6% (31/41 cases) in the control group. There was statistical difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). The morning stiffness, the rest pain, the number of tender joints, the number of swollen joints, tender joint index, swollen joint index, ESR, RF, and CRP were significantly improved in the two groups after treatment (P < 0.01). Besides, clinical symptoms and signs, ESR, RF, and CRP were more improved in the treatment group after treatment, when compared with those in the control group (P < 0.05). Gastrointestinal discomfort was the main adverse reaction in the two groups, but the occurrence was lower in the treatment group than in the control group (P > 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSThe clinical efficacy of YTR combined MTX + LEF in the treatment of RA was better than using Western medicine alone. It was more safe with less adverse reactions.

Abnormal eye blinking in children is a disease of frequent eye blinking in children, more than 15 times per minute, without facial spasms and neurological diseases, with relatively independent clinical symptoms. If combining with organic or neurological disease, we consider it as children eye blinking syndrome. It's a common and frequently encountered disease in pediatric ophthalmology. The etiologies include body and psychological disorders, such as refractive errors, ocular surface and ocular adnexal disease, bad habits, lead pollution, tic disorders and so on. We think that most of abnormal eye blinking in children firstly caused by oculopathy, neurological disorders and psychological illness are the important factors for increasing or making it repeatedly happen. Recognizing and identifying the etiologies of abnormal eye blinking in children, so as to take a targeted theray and avoid misdiagnosis and delayed treatment.

Objective To know the nursing scientific research status in recent years,and to reveal the differences between Chinese nursing scientific researches and foreign nursing scientific researches,in order to promote the rapid development of nursing cause in China.Methods Five Chinese journals of nursing and four foreign nursing journals were analyzed covered China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI),PubMed and Google data ranged from 2008 to 2013.By adopting bibliometrics method,regional distribution,the number of people participation,the cooperation between units,the source of financial funding,research content and nature of Chinese nursing research papers were analyzed,and also compared to research content and nature of foreign nursing journals.Results The amounts of published papers were 1 527 pieces.The geographical distribution of research papers were all spread over 28 provinces,autonomous regions sand municipalities directly under the central government,most of which was Guangdong province [12.64％ (193/1 527)];The majority of research papers were completed by single unit and more than five people,which about [68.4％(1 045/1 527)],[38.6％(589/1 527)],respectively;Provincial level of research papers were more than national level [81.4％(1 243/1 527) vs.18.6％(284/1 527)];The papers focused on the clinical nursing research [37.8％(577/1 527)] and clinical basic nursing research [34.6％(529/1 527)].Almost researches were descriptive research,while 40.7％(622/1527) of which were clinical analysis.Foreign nursing scientific researches paid more attention to psychological research and nursing profession which were related to humanities and investigation was major method used;Compared with the foreign nursing papers at the same time,the number of Chinese nursing research papers increased rapidly (P ＜ 0.05);Papers were completed more than five units rapidly increased compared with the pre-upgrade,as well as the national subjects,the difference was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions The number of nursing research programs tended to increase year by year and the enthusiasm of nurses participating in scientific research was higher than before.Different units needed to further strengthen cooperation in scientific research.The research content and direction were diversity,which had not yet formed central tendency.The research method was still limited to descriptive studies,and the creativity of the research methods was needed,especially laboratory research.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of modification and care improvement in endotracheal tubes (ETTs) to prevent ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) in patients receiving mechanical ventilation (MV).Methods PubMed,China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) were searched,literature information was extracted and classified according to the inclusion criteria,the data were statistically analyzed.Results Totally 46 clinical research articles and 6 laboratory research articles were involved,the data showed that polyurethane (PU) cuff [23.809％ (35/147)],silver-coated ETTs [4.830％ (37/766)],subglottic drainage duct [19.492％ (759/3 894)],discontinuous subglottic drainage[13.603％ (256/1 882)] were associated with a decreased incidence of VAP compared with polyvinyl (PVC) cuff [40.179％ (45/112)],non-silver-coated ETTs [7.537％ (56/743)],conventional ETTs[45.733％ (1 088/2 379)],continuous subglottic drainage [25.000％ (503/2 012)],the differences in the incidence of VAP were statistically significant,respectively,P＜ 0.05.The incidence of VAP in cylindrical PU cuff was 25.000％ (8/32),the tapered PU cuff was 21.875％ (7/32),the difference in the incidence of VAP was not statistically significant.Conclusions The modification of the ETTs and the care improvement can effectively reduce the incidence of VAP.

Objective To measure the concentration of the amniotic fluid EPO(AFEPO) and investigate the relationship between AFEPO levels and fetal hypoxia. Methods Their AFEPO and the umbilical vein serum EPO (UVSEPO) were measured thirty pregnancy induced hypertension pregnancies (PIH group) , 30 gestational diabetic pregnancies (Diabetic group) and 25 normal pregnancies (control group) were terminated by cesarean section by using a chemiluminescent enzyme labeled immunometric assay (CELIMA). Meantime, umbilical artery pH (UapH), base excess(UaBE) and UapO2 and so on were also measured. Results The mean concentrations of AFEPO and UVSEPO in PIH (1.42?0.33 and 1.63?0.37) and Diabetic group (1.53?0.25 and 1.81? 0.34) were significantly higher than those in control group (0.91?0.11 and 1.13?0.14), ( P

Objective To assess the role of intervention of dexmedetomidine in lung tissue and plasma of septic rats induced by lipolysaccharide.Methods Forty SD rats weighing 250-300 g were divided into 4 groups:control group (n =10)with saline (1 ml·kg-1·h-1 )infused through the tail veins of rats for 6 h;dexmedetomidine (DEX)group (n =10)with dexmedetomidine,injected 6.5 μg ·kg-1·h-1 for 10 min followed by 5 μg·kg-1·h-1 ,continuously infused through tail veins for 6 h;li-polysaccharide (LPS)group (n = 10 )with lipolysaccharide (7.5 mg/kg)infused through the tail veins of rats;LPS+DEX group (n =10),after infusion of LPS,rats were treated with dexmedeto-midine (bolus 6.5 μg·kg-1·h-1 ,10 min;5 μg·kg-1·h-1 ,continuous infusion)through the tail veins for 6 h.ELISA and Western blot were performed to assess the protein expression of IL-1,IL-6, TNF-αand TLR4;the wet/dry ratio (W/D)of lung tissue in each group was measured and the injury scores were recorded through the Murakami method.Results There was no statistical significance between the control group and DEX group in plasma level of inflammatory factors,pulmonary TLR4 expression,wet/dry ratio and injury score of lung tissues,however,compared to the control group, there was a significant elevation in the above-mentioned biomarkers,W/D and injury score of lung tis-sue (P <0.01).Compared to the control group,there was no statistical significance in the LPS+DEX group.Compared to the LPS+DEX group,the biomarkers mentioned above,W/D and injury score of lung tissues were significantly elevated in the LPS group (P <0.01).Conclusion The irrita-tion of LPS can trigger the elevation of inflammatory factors in plasma,TLR4 expression in lung tis-sues in rats,while the intervention of dexmedetomidine can significantly alleviate this tendency. Dexmedetomidine can suppress the inflammatory reaction and pulmonary edema in septic rats.
