1.Review of semiconductor laser in medical applications
Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 1993;0(06):-
The application of semiconductor laser in medicine has extended rapidly with the development of its series techniques. Semiconductor laser has its own advantages, such as small body, light weight, low price and optional wavelengths. The application of semiconductor laser is limited within two fields, which covers other lasers' application fields. One is the utilization of its optic property for tissue detection and disease diagnosis, and the other is the utilization of its biological effect for disease therapy. The two kinds of application are both specified in this paper.

Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2015;37(5):344-347
Objective To observe the effects of computer assisted training combined with the actual environment training on vascular cognitive impairment with no dementia (VCIND) after stoke. Methods Sixty elderly patients with VCIND after stroke were randomly divided into a research group and a control group, each of 30.All patients were given routine medication and rehabilitation training, while the research group was additionally provided with computer assisted training and the actual environment training lasting two months. All patients' cognitive function and activities of daily life (ADL) in both groups were assessed using the Montreal cognitive assessment scale(MoCA) and modified Barthel index(MBI) before and after treatment. Results After two months of treatment, the total score of MoCA (22.80 ± 4.63) and the scores of seven subprojects including visual space (4.00 ± 0.93),naming (2.67±0.62),attention(4.13 ±0.74),language(2.33 ±0.62),abstract thinking(1.60± 0.83),delayed memory(2.93 ±0.70) and orientation(5.13 ± 1.19) in the research group were significantly higher than those before treatment and those of the control group. However,in the control group, only the total score and the scores of naming, language and delayed memory in the control group significantly were higher than those before treatment. After treatment, the scores of MBI in both group were significantly promoted, reaching (61.53 ± 7.13) and (52.20 ± 4.93) for the research and control group respectively, with the former improving more significantly than the latter. Conclusion The computer assisted training combined with the actual environment training helps to improve cognitive function and ADL for patients with VCIND after stoke.Such combined therapy is worth of promoting in clinical practice.

Aiming at the disadvantages of traditional medical high value consumable management mode, bar code management is the only way which must be passed to the high value consumables in hospital management under the new situation. The bar code management system development in theMilitary Medical Projectmaterials management platform, scientific optimization of high value consumables management process, fully embodies the characteristics and advantages of bar code management. Not only to achieve a one relation between the high value consumables and patients, can also be integrated management supplies out of storage, charging and the financial sector, to achieve high value. The bar code in the ID, is the only identity code high value consumables, which maintained the patient's vital interests, and ensure that the hospital infection control requirements, the high value consumables in hospital benigndynamicmanagement system.

In order to improve the storage and transmission efficiency of dynamic photoplethysmography (PPG) signals in the detection process and reduce the redundancy of signals, the modified adaptive matching pursuit (MAMP) algorithm was proposed according to the sparsity of the PPG signal. The proposed algorithm which is based on reconstruction method of sparse adaptive matching pursuit (SAMP), could improve the accuracy of the sparsity estimation of signals by using both variable step size and the double threshold conditions. After experiments on the simulated and the actual PPG signals, the results show that the modified algorithm could estimate the sparsity of signals accurately and quickly, and had good anti-noise performance. Contrasting with SAMP and orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP), the reconstruction speed of the algorithm was faster and the accuracy was high.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(21):216-218
BACKGROUND: The dynamic characteristics of electroencephalogram (EEG) include a decrease in the chaotic dimension, the correlation dimen sion, the Lyapunov exponent, the chaotic complexity, the freedom of EEG and an enhanced synchronization and periodicity of the EEG from several minutes to tens of minutes before epileptic seizures. All these characteristics prefigure the forthcoming seizures. Some studies have proven that the non linear dynamical system can be used as a feasible approach to explore the potential variables for describing the chaos portrait of EEG. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the electric characteristics of EEG signal in the epileptic seizures in rat model by investigating the nonlinear dynamical variables, such as the approximate entropy (ApEn) and correlation dimen sion. DESIGN: Observational and experimental study based on animals. SETTING: Department of Medical Engineering, Department of Gastroen terology, Second Artilleryman General Hospital of Chinese PLA; Department of Physics, Faulty of Biomedical Engineering, Fourth Military Medical Uni versity of Chinese PLA. MATERIALS: From September 2001 to January 2002, this study was conducted at the Complexity Laboratory of the Biomedical Department of the Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese PLA. Six male SD rats, weighing 150- 200 g, were selected.INTERVENTIONS: After intraperitoneal injection of chloral hydrate (0. 5 mL), the male SD rats were deeply anesthetized. When their EEG signal became stable, bemegride injection was diluted at 1:1 with saline and was given on a volume of 0.5 mL to the rats intraperitoneally. After a while, the epileptic seizures started marked by a spasm with a deep roar. The entire epileptic seizures were recorded. According to the shape of EEG waves and the corresponding symptoms of the rats during their seizures, data of the four phases, referring to normal condition, preictal phase, ictal phase and postictal phases of epileptic seizures, were selected for nonlinear analysis. The variations of the ApEn and the correlation dimension were calculated.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: In the four phases of the seizures, before seizures, preictal phase, ictal phase and postictal phases, the changes in the ApEn and correlation dimension were observed.RESULTS: All the 6 rats entered the statistical procedure. During epilepsy, the ApEn and correlation dimension of the EEG signal in ictal phases (0. 447 ±0. 126, 2. 166 ±0. 377) decreased significantly while those in preictal phases(0. 807 ±0. 182, 4. 773 ±0. 319) and postictal phases (1. 241 ±0. 125, 6. 042 ±0. 373) (t = -3. 984to 17. 902, P <0. 01). The ApEn and the correlation dimension of the EEG signal in preictal and ictal phases had significant difference with those observed under normal conditions (1.313 ± 0. 090, 6. 405 ± 0. 694) (t = -5. 228 to 12. 740, P < 0. 01 ).CONCLUSION: The changes in ApEn and correlation dimension showed by nonlinear dynamical approach in this study reflect the characteristics of EEG signals in preictal time, ictal time and postictal timeof the epileptic seizures and the differences among them. Additionally, they also reveal the laws in the changes of the complex ictal EEG signal.
