Objective To evaluate the value of susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI)sequence in the diagnosis of metastatic en-cephaloma pre and after radiotherapy by comparing the appearance of the SWI and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging(T1 WI). Methods Thirty-eight lung cancer patients with brain metastases underwent SWI and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging re-spectively before and 2-3 months after radiotherapy.Evaluated the two methods by score(the score ranged from 0-3,0 represen-ted no showing,1 represented not showing clearly,2 represented could judging,3 represented showing obviously). Results Before radiotherapy,SWI detected 1 61 lesions of metastases and could obviously show tumor vascular in brain metastases (mean score 2.73±0.05).Contrast-enhanced T1 WI detected 1 61 lesions(mean score 1.93±0.04 ).SWI showed significantly higher score than enhanced T1 WI(P <0.05)through paired sample t test. After radiotherapy,SWI found 98 lesions (mean score 1.47±0.1 1 )and en-hanced T1 WI found 140 lesions (mean score 1.80±0.07),enhanced T1 WI had significantly higher score than SWI(P <0.05).Con-clusion SWI is superior to contrast-enhanced T1 WI to show the metastases before radiotherapy and can show tumor vascular in brain metastases obviously.SWI is inferior to enhanced T1 WI after radiotherapy. It has some value and may provide a new method for evaluating effects of radiotherapy.

Objective:
To investigate the trends in the disease burden of leukemia in Jiangsu Province from 1990 to 2019, so as to provide insights into leukemia control in Jiangsu Province.
Methods:
The prevalence, incidence, death and disability adjusted life years (DALYs) of leukemia in Jiangsu Province from 1990 to 2019 were retrieved from the 2019 Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD 2019) database, and standardized by the age structure of Chinese populations in 2000. The trends in the disease burden of leukemia in Jiangsu Province from 1990 to 2019 were analyzed using average annual percent change (AAPC).
Results :
The average annual standardized prevalence, incidence, mortality and DALY rate of leukemia were 63.63/105, 9.76/105, 4.10/105 and 194.83/105 in Jiangsu Province from 1990 to 2019, respectively. The average annual standardized prevalence (AAPC=1.420%, t=5.644, P<0.001) and incidence (AAPC=0.806%, t=3.505, P<0.001) of leukemia appeared a tendency towards a rise, while the average annual standardized mortality (AAPC=-1.589%, t=-14.714, P<0.001) and DALY rate (AAPC=-1.849%, t=-9.046, P<0.001) of leukemia appeared a tendency towards a decline in Jiangsu Province from 1990 to 2019. Higher average annual standardized prevalence (65.27/105 vs. 62.38/105, P<0.001), incidence (10.32/105 vs. 9.29/105, P<0.001), mortality (4.69/105 vs. 3.57/105, P<0.001) and DALY rate of leukemia (216.94/105 vs. 172.80/105, P<0.001) were estimated among men than among women. The crude prevalence of leukemia peaked among patients at ages of 0 to 14 years and 60 to 74 years, and the crude incidence, DALY rate and mortality of leukemia peaked at ages of 0 to 14 years and 75 years and older.
Conclusions
The mortality and DALY of leukemia appeared a tendency towards a decline and the prevalence and incidence appeared a tendency towards a rise in Jiangsu Province from 1990 to 2019; however, there were high disease burdens of leukemia among men, children and the elderly.

Objective:In this study,a series of experiments were conducted to research the mechanism of anticancer and preliminary molecular effects of PAMs on the HEPG-2 cancer cells. Methods:Morphological observation and MTT assay were used to explore the inhibition and killing effect of PAMs acting on HEPG-2.AO/EB staining and Annexin V-FITC/PI staining were employed to observe the apoptosis of HEPG-2 treated with PAMs.The expression level of Foxm1,bcl-2 and others genes in HEPG-2 cells were detected by using qRT-PCR and western blot.Wound healing and transwell experiments determined if PAMs can inhibit the migration of HEPG-2.Results:PAMs can inhibit and kill HEPG-2 cells in time and dose-dependent manners, and the cytotoxic effects were closely related to the cell apoptosis. The mRNA expression of foxm1,bcl-2 and surviving gene were remarkably decreased in HEPG-2 cells after the treatment of PAMs.PAMs decreased the FoXM1 protein expression in HEPG-2 cells, while up-regulating thep53 protein expression.,and it could also inhibit the migration of cancer cells. Conclusions:The possible molecular mechanism for the killing of HEPG-2 cancer cells by PAMs was proposed.By down-regulating the expression of foxm1 and up-regulating the expression of p53,the transcriptional expression of their downstream target genes survivin and bcl-2 was inhibited or reduced, hence enhancing the cancer cell apoptosis. This study provides an important foundation for the development of anti-cancer Chinese folk medicine based on PAMs.

Objective To investigate the resistance profile of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates in Huashan Hospital, Fudan University. Methods The MICs of fluoroquinolones were determined by agar dilution method against 112 clinical strains of K. pneumoniae. Multilocus sequence typing (MLST) were applied to 48 K. pneumoniae strains. The characteristic sequence type (ST) associated with antibiotic resistance was identified by PCR. Results Lower percentage (<40%) of K. pneumoniae strains were susceptible to fluoroquinolones. Majority (86.2%) of ciprofloxacin non-susceptible K. pneumoniae strains belonged to CC1 (ST11), ST494 or CC4 (ST15 and ST655), indicating the potential of clonal dissemination. ST494 (18.8%) was the second commonest sequence type, next only to ST11. ST494 strains harbored the genes encoding beta-lactamases, oqxAB, qnrD, aac-(6')-lb-cr and armA and had a single point mutation in gyrA. Therefore, ST494 strains were highly resistant to cephalosporins, fluoroquinolones and aminoglycosides and 22% of the strains were resistant to carbapenems. However, all the ST494 strains were susceptible to tigecycline and tetracycline. Conclusions ST11 and ST494 are the commonest STs of K. pneumoniae conferring multidrug resistance in this hospital. These STs may contribute to the high resistance rates of K. pneumoniae to fluoroquinolones. The susceptibility of ST494 strains to tigecycline and tetracycline allows us to consider the promising potential of such drugs in managing K. pneumoniae infections.

BACKGROUND:Periodontitis is an inflammatory and destructive disease with plaque biofilm as the main pathogenic material, which occurs in the gingiva, periodontal ligament, alveolar bone and cementum. The antigen of bacterial complex and its secreted toxin and enzyme directly lead to the destruction of periodontal tissue and trigger the host's immune response, causing indirect damage to the body tissue.Silence information regulatory factors(Sirtuins,SIRTs)play an important role in anti-aging,anti-oxidative stress, regulating inflammation, and mediating autophagy, and are closely related to the occurrence and development of periodontitis. OBJECTIVE:To review the research status of Sirtuins in periodontitis. METHODS:The first author used the computer to search the relevant research regarding the role of Sirtuins in periodontitis in PubMed,Web of Scene,CNKI and WanFang databases. The key words were"Sirtuins,Sirtuin1-7,periodontitis"in English and Chinese. After literature screening,57 articles were included for review and analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:SIRT1,SIRT2,SIRT3,and SIRT6 participate in regulating the occurrence and development of periodontitis.Inhibition of SIRT1 expression may be the target of periodontitis treatment, while overexpression of SIRT1 can inhibit periodontitis and protect periodontal tissue. The activator of SIRT1 can reduce the inflammation of periodontal tissue and improve the systemic pathological changes caused by periodontitis.SIRT2 is involved in nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase-mediated periodontal inflammation and plays a role in the treatment and prognosis of periodontal diseases.SIRT3 can improve age-related periodontal disease.Gastrodin promotes the osteogenic differentiation of periodontal ligament stem cells through the up-regulation of SIRT3.The activator of SIRT3 reduces the damage of periodontitis to periodontal and renal tissues by regulating the level of autophagy in the cells.SIRT6 can inhibit the inflammatory reaction of periodontal tissue and inhibit the differentiation and mineralization of cementoblasts.SIRT6 is beneficial to the prognosis of periapical periodontitis. The relationship between SIRT4,SIRT5,SIRT7 and periodontitis is rarely reported.

Drug resistance presents one of the major causes for the failure of cancer chemotherapy. Cancer stem-like cells (CSCs), a population of self-renewal cells with high tumorigenicity and innate chemoresistance, can survive conventional chemotherapy and generate increased resistance. Here, we develop a lipid-polymer hybrid nanoparticle for co-delivery and cell-distinct release of the differentiation-inducing agent, all-trans retinoic acid and the chemotherapeutic drug, doxorubicin to overcome the CSC-associated chemoresistance. The hybrid nanoparticles achieve differential release of the combined drugs in the CSCs and bulk tumor cells by responding to their specific intracellular signal variation. In the hypoxic CSCs, ATRA is released to induce differentiation of the CSCs, and in the differentiating CSCs with decreased chemoresistance, DOX is released upon elevation of reactive oxygen species to cause subsequent cell death. In the bulk tumor cells, the drugs are released synchronously upon the hypoxic and oxidative conditions to exert potent anticancer effect. This cell-distinct drug release enhances the synergistic therapeutic efficacy of ATRA and DOX with different anticancer mechanism. We show that treatment with the hybrid nanoparticle efficiently inhibit the tumor growth and metastasis of the CSC-enriched triple negative breast cancer in the mouse models.

Objective:
To understand the consciousness of the cancer early detection among urban residents and identify the influencing factors from 2015 to 2017.
Methods:
A cross-sectional survey was conducted in 16 provinces covered by the Cancer Screening Program in Urban China from 2015 to 2017. A total of 32 257 local residents aged ≥18 years old who could understand the investigation procedure were included in the study by using the cluster sampling method and convenient sampling method. All local residents were categorized into four groups, which contained 15 524 community residents, 8 016 cancer risk assessment/screening population, 2 289 cancer patients and 6 428 occupational population, respectively. Self-designed questionnaires were used to collect population, socioeconomic indicators, self-cancer risk assessment, regular participation in physical examination and other information. The multivariate logistic regression model was used to identify the factors of people who had not regularly participated in the regular physical examination in the past five years.
Results:
The self-assessment results of 32 357 residents showed that there were 27.54% (8 882) of total study population with self-reported cancer risk, 45.48% (14 671) without cancer risk and 26.98% (8 704) with unclear judgement on their own cancer risk. Among population with cancer risk, 79.84% (7 091) considered physical examination accounted. In the past five years, there were 21 105 (65.43%) residents participated in regular physical examination and 11 148 (34.56%) participated in non-scheduled one, respectively. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that compared with unmarried and western region residents, divorced, middle and eastern region residents had a stronger consciousness to participate in the regular physical examination (

All local residents were categorized into four groups, which contained 15 524 community residents, 8 016 cancer risk assessment/screening population, 2 289 cancer patients and 6 428 occupational population, respectively. The general demographic characteristics, the consciousness of the cancer early diagnosis (whether people would have a willingness or encourage their relatives/friends to confirm the abnormal results once which were detected from the physical examination) and other information were collected by using the self-designed questionnaire. The non-conditional logistic regression model was used to identify the relateol factors related to the consciousness of the cancer early diagnosis.
Results:
As for residents with abnormal result from the physical examination, 89.29% (28 802) of residents would choose to seek medical treatment for further diagnosis. If their relatives/friends had abnormal results from the physical examination, 89.55% (28 886) of residents would encourage their relatives/friends to confirm the diagnosis in time. The non-conditional logistic regression model analysis showed that compared with the public institution staff/civil servants, annual household income less than 20 000 CNY, the western region and the cancer risk assessment/screening intervention population, the company staff, annual household income about 40 000 CNY and more, and the residents from the middle and eastern region had a stronger consciousness to seek further diagnosis; while the unemployed residents and community residents were less likely to seek further diagnosis (
