Objective To understand the change of erythrocyte immunity and matondialdehyde (MDA) in perioperative patients with mammary cancer. Methods30 patients were divided randomly into two groups:group A(general anesthesia) and group B(epidural block). To estimate the activity of erythrocyte complement receptor I (CR- I ) and the lever of MDA, the venous blood were collected at the time points of before anesthesia, after anesthesia, during operation, and on the 1st, the 3rd, the 5th postoperative day. ResrltsCompared with before anesthesia, the RBCC3bRR, RBCCaR and RFER in group A were decreased statistically at the time points of after anesthesia, during operation, and on the 1st, the 3rd postoperative day(P <0.05 or P <0.01). Above mentioned index in group B were reduced significantly only during operation and on the 1st postoperative day. Between two groups, above mentioned index in group A were lower than those in group B(P<0.05).Compared with before anesthesia, RFIR and MDA in group A were higher at the time points of after anesthesia, during operation, and on the 1st, the 3rd postoperative day(P<0.05 or P<0.01).but above mentioned index in group B rose only on the 1st postoperative day.CR- I and MDA in two groups restored to the lever of be fore anesthesia on the 5th postoperative day. ConclusionThe perioperative immunological function of erythrocyte is obviously depressed by general anesthesia and epidural block, especially the former. This depression is relevant to the disorder of erythrocyte immunity regulating function and the lever of plasma MDA.

Objective To study the clinical values of dynamic changes of yon Willebrand factor (vWF) and ADAMTS13 (a disintegrin and metalloprotease with thrombospondin repeats-13 ) in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. Methods Twenty-nine patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage admitted to Department of Neurosurgery from April 2010 through April 2011 were enrolled for retrospective study. They could be categorized into 3 sets of grouping:delayed cerebral ischemia group ( DCI group) and non-delayed cerebral ischemia group ( no DCI group ),cerebral vasospasm group ( CVS group ) and no vasospasm group (no CVS group),and good prognosis group and poor prognosis group, and another 20 healthy subjects as control group. All patients were examined with CT,DSA,or/and CTA to identify the intracranial subarachnoid hemorrhage resulted from aneurysm rupture. The exclusion criteria included:(1)the time from onset to admission was longer than 72 hours or patient was in imminent danger of death; (2)patients had surgery, interventiona] or conservative treatment outside the hospital; (3) patients were under the treatment of antiplatelet medicine such as aspirin, clopidogrel,or other anticoagulants such as warfarin, etc ; (4) patients had blood diseases, impaired kidney or liver function, pregnant,or with recent infections.Venous blood were taken one day,4 days and 10 days after SAH to determine plasma concentrations of ADAMTS13 and vWF by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (TCD) was used to measure mean blood flow velocity of middle cerebral artery (VMCA).Glasgow outcome scale (GOS) score was measured before discharge. Data were analyzed by using SPSS version 13.0 software. Results The levels of vWF were significantly higher in DCI group,CVS group and poor prognosis group compared with those in the control group 1 day,4 days and 10 days after SAH.There were differences in vWF between DCI group and no DCI group 1 day and 4 days after SAH ( P < 0.05 ).There were significantly differences in vWF between CVS group and no CVS group, and between good prognosis group and poor prognosis group 4 days and 10 days after SAH ( P < 0.01 ).In DCI group and poor prognosis group, the level of plasma ADAMTS13 was significantly lower 1 day after SAH than that in the normal control group (P <0.01) and in the no DCI group (P <0.O1 ); and there were no differences in ADAMTS13 between CVS group and no CVS group. Conclusions In the early stage, the increase in plasma vWF and decrease in ADAMTS13 activity are associated with DCI,and the decrease in ADAMTS13 activity can be used to predict the outcome.

Objective To analyze the genotype of varicella-zoster virus (VZV) strains isolated from patients with chickenpox or zoster and to differentiate them from Oka vaccine strain by molecular analysis. Methods In the present study, single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP) based VZV genotypes were analyzed in 19 VZV isolates using the polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphisms analysis of DNA fragments of the open reading frames 38, 54, 62, and the 1t5 repeat region. Results The genotypes of 19 VZV isolates including two different groups with 52.7% of Pst Ⅰ+ Bgl Ⅰ+ R5A and 47.3% of Pst Ⅰ+ Bgl Ⅰ+ R5B, which is very different from those found in North America, Europe and Japan. All the Chinese isolates are wild-type strains with ORF62 Sma Ⅰ-. No Oka vaccine strains were revealed among the isolates. Conclusion Chinese VZV strains reported in this study showed different molecular characteristics from those circulating in Europe, North America and Japan. The SNPs in ORF62 and ORF38 may be used to distinguish VZV wild-type strains and vaccine strain in clinical isolates in China.

[ABSTRACT]AIM:ToinvestigatethedifferenteffectsofERK1/2/PPARα/SCAD(short-chainacyl-CoAdehy-drogenase) signal pathways on the cardiac hypertrophy induced by insulin-like growth factors 1 ( IGF-1) or phenylephrine ( PE) .METHODS:The neonatal rat cardiomyocytes induced by IGF-1 were used as the model of physiological cardiac hypertrophy , and those induced by PE were used as the model of pathological cardiac hypertrophy .The surface area of the cardiomyocytes, the expression of p-ERK1/2, PPARαand SCAD, the activity of SCAD and the content of free fatty acid in the cardiomyocytes were measured .RESULTS:Compared with the control cells , the surface area of the cardiomyocytes in-duced by IGF-1 and PE were both increased .Compared with the controls , the expression of SCAD and PPARα, and the activity of SCAD in the cardiomyocytes induced by IGF-1 were increased , while the expression of p-ERK1/2 was de-creased.However, the cardiomyocytes treated with PE showed decreased expression of SCAD and PPARα, decreased activ-ity of SCAD and increased expression of p-ERK1/2.Meanwhile, the decrease in free fatty acid in IGF-1-induced cardio-myocytes and the increase in PE-induced cardiomyocytes indicated that the fatty acid utilization was increased in the cardio -myocytes induced by IGF-1, but decreased in the cardiomyocytes induced by PE .CONCLUSION: The changes of p-ERK1/2, PPARαand SCAD in the cardiac hypertrophy induced by IGF-1 or PE indicate that the effects of ERK 1/2/PPARα/SCAD signal pathways are different between physiological cardiac hypertrophy and pathological cardiac hypertro -phy , and that SCAD may be a molecular marker of these 2 different cardiac hypertrophies and a potential therapeutic target for pathological cardiac hypertrophy .
