A biological study was made to estimate the influence of excess dietary zinc, in vivo, on iron and copper status and their antagonism. Chicks were randomly divided into four groups (n= 22 each) according to body weight and were fed on experimental diet with different amounts of zinc, iron and copper for 28 days. The results were as follows; 1. Excess dietary zinc (400ppm) caused retardation of growth rate in experimental chicks, hypochromic anemia, elevation of blood and tissues (liver, kidney) zinc levels and lowering iron, copper and ceruloplasmin content,and eryth-rocyte Cu-Zn-superoxide dismutase activity; 2. Copper alone supplemented up to 40ppm to the excess zinc diet was able to improve the growth rate, body copper status and Cu-Za-superoxide dismutase activity, but no effect on anemia and body iron status; 3. Iron and copper were supplemented up to 400ppm and 40ppm respectively to excess zinc diet at same time, all the parameters were similar to the chicks fed basal diet. These data suggested that supplement of iron and copper at proper proportion to excess zinc diet can prevent the adverse effects of excess zinc on chicks.

Objective To explore the effects of α-keto acid combined with low protein diet on oxidative stress and electrolyte levels in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Methods Ninety-eight cases with type 2 diabetic nephropathy were randomLy divided into the treatment group(low-protein diet with α-keto acid 1 tablet,n=58) and the control group(normal protein intake,n=40). The 24 h urinary albumin excretion rate,glomerular filtra-tion rate ,serum oxidative stress (SOD ,MDA ,AOPPs) and electrolyte levels were measured before and after treatment. Results After 24 weeks of treatment,the 24 h urinary albumin excretion rate of DN patients in the treatment group was significantly lower than that before treatment and the control group (P < 0.05). However, there was no significant change in the glomerular filtration rate of the patients. Compared with the control group , the serum SOD activity of DN patients was significantly increased and the levels of MDA and AOPPs were decreased(P < 0.05)after 24 weeks of treatment. Simultaneously,the levels of serum potassium and phosphorus in the treatment group was decreased ,while the levels of calcium and magnesium were improved (P < 0.05). Conclusion α-keto acid combined with low protein diet can significantly reduce the urinary albumin excretion rate,improve the body′s antioxidant activity,and maintain serum electrolytes balance.

[Objective]To introduce a new technique of ankle arthrodesis with trephine by lateral approach and evaluate its clinical effects.[Method]Ankle arthrodesis with trephine was performed in 20 patients with serious lesions.Lateral incision was adopted and osteotomy of fibula facilitated the exposure of the fusion site.A trephine of appropriate diameter was used for bi-osteotomy,thus inside the trephine gaining two bone blocks were then rotated 90? and replanted in situ.The pruned fibula was fixed with screws as on-lay!grafting.Proper cast was utilized postoperatively to maintain a functional position.[Result]The average follow-up period was 26 months(ranged from 6 months to 4 years).All the wounds healed well at 2 weeks and the callus appeared 4 weeks postoperatively.Sufficient pain relief was obtained in all patients at 12 weeks and appearance improved greatly.A solid union was achieved in all cases through the radiograph.[Conclusion]The use of trephine in ankle fusion by lateral approach is proved to be a simple technique with high union rate.The main advantages of the technique over other methods of arthrodesis include: excellent exposure by regular incision;less disturbance of the original joint,thereby preserving normal height of the joint and length of the extremity;no need for extra graft through in-situ grafting of the bone blocks and rigid on-lay grafting of lateral malleolus for high primary stability.

Objective:To study the application value of different operation methods in the treatment of left hepatolithiasis in special position (the stone is located in the sagittal section of left portal vein and/or near the proximal end of left hepatic vein).Methods:From July 2015 to June 2018, 58 patients with left hepatolithiasis in special position in Department of General Surgery, the First People′s Hospital of Tianmen City of Hubei Province were analyzed retrospectively. According to the different operation methods, they were divided into two groups: left liver excision under laparoscopy and gallbladder incision stone group (left liver excision group, n=28) and laparoscopic left-half liver excision and bile tube excision stone removal group (left half liver excision group, n=30). The operation time, intraoperative bleeding, postopera-tive hospital stay, postoperative biliary fistula, postoperative bleeding, postoperative stone residue and stone recurrence were compared between the two groups.The measurement data with normal distributions were represented as ( Mean± SD), and comparison between groups was done using the t test. The chi-square test and Fisher precision test were used for comparison between counting data. Results:All 58 patients underwent laparoscopic surgery. Left liver excision group surgery time, in-serum bleeding, number of days hospitalized after surgery, number of postoperative bile fistula cases, number of postoperative bleeding cases were (161.53±30.56) min, (203.45±26.69) mL, (9.26±3.3. 86) days, 1 case, 1 case, left half liver excision group (153.16±42.63) min, (198.79±30.82) mL, (9.59±4.01) days 1 case, 1 case, The difference between the two groups was not statistically significant ( P>0.05). The number of postoperative stone residues was more than that of the left liver and outer leaf excision group (4 cases) than that of the left half of the liver excision group (1 case), and the number of postoperative stone recurrence cases was more than that of the latter (1 case), all of which were statistically significant ( P<0.05). The number of stone residues and stone recurrences after left liver excision group was 4 and 5 cases respectively, and the left half liver excision nurses were 1 case and 1 case, respectively, and the difference between the two was statistically significant ( P<0.05). Conclusion:For the left hepatolithiasis in special position (the stone is located in the sagittal section of the left branch of the portal vein and (or near the proximal end of the left hepatic vein in imaging), the lower abdominal left hemihepatectomy + choledocholithotomy is a safer and more effective treatment.

From the perspective of portable monitoring devices,we use an analog front-end AFE4490 design a module of Non-invasive blood oxygen measurement, used to collect human pulse wave signal and peak (valley) value detection and then use the principles of non-invasive oximetry calculated oxygen saturation (SPO2). This design of noninvasive oximetry module has the characteristics of small size, low power consumption, and the results of test show that the measurement of oxygen saturation are correct.

Objective To investigate the surgical treatment of infected femoral pseudoaneurysm caused by injection of heroin. Method Retrospective analysis was made on the clinical data of 14 cases of infected ruptured femoral pseudoaneurysm caused by injection of heroin. Results All 14 cases underwent operation. The ruptured sizes of arteries were 0.5 cm-2.0 cm . All cases were treated by resection of the aneurysm and replacement of iliac-femoral artery with artificial graft. Blood supply and function were good in all limbs after operations. Aneurysm cavities and incision wounds were treated with debridement, drainage and anti-infective treatment. All wounds were healed. 2 weeks and 3 months after operation, the grafts were patency demonstrated by Color Doppler examination. None of them was complicated with anastomosis leakage or thrombosis. Conclusion Thorough debridement of aneurysms and reconstruction of the artery are the effective approach in treating the infected ruptured femoral pseudoaneurysm caused by injecting heroin. Sufficient drainage, anti-infective and anti-coagulation therapy should be considered after the operation.

Objective To observe the expression of small ubiquitin?related modifiers(SUMO)protein in normal cultured human lens epithelial cells(SRA01/04)and discuss regulation effects of SUMO protein on oxidative stress induced by high glucose. Methods The expression and local?ization of SUMO 1,2/3,4 was detected in normal cultured SRA01/04 cells through immunocytochemistry. The mRNA expression levels of SUMO 1?4 were examined by RT?PCR after the SRA01/04 cells treated with high glucose media at different concentrations and time points. Samples were grouped by medium concentrations(glucoses 5.5 mmol/L,12.5 mmol/L,25 mmol/L,50 mmol/L respectively for 24 h)and by treatment time(0 h, 6 h,12 h and 24 h respectively). After highly efficient transfection of GFP?SUMO2 into SRA01/04 cells,the survival and apoptotic rates of transfect?ed and un?transfected cells treated with high glucose was detected by CCK8 method and AV/PI double staining flow cytometry. Results The immu?nocytochemistry results showed that SUMO1,2/3,4 proteins were mainly located in the nucleus of SRA01/04 cells and part of SUMO2/3 was in the cytoplasm. RT?PCR results showed that compared with the low?glucose group,the mRNA expression of SUMO1?4 was increased along the increas?ing glucose concentration in the high?glucose group(P<0.05). Compared with 0 h,the mRNA expression of SUMO1?4 was enhanced at 6 h,12 h and 24 h(P<0.05)in the high?glucose group treated at 50 mmol/L concentration. Compared with the un?transfected cells,the survival rate was in?creased and the apoptotic rate was decreased in GFP?SUMO2 transfected cells in oxidative stress induced by high glucose(P<0.05). Conclusion SUMO protein was positively expressed in SRA01/04 cells and the expression of SUMO mRNA was affected by oxidative stress induced by high glu?cose.

Objective To evaluate the early and mid-term efficacy of endoscopic vein harvesting(EVH) undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG) in patients over 70 years old.Methods Patients' data of CABG were analyzed retrospectively in General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region from June 2011 to January 2013.400 patients were enrolled in the study according to the inclusion criteria.All patients were divided into two groups by the method of harvesting great saphenous vein (GSV):EVH group (n =200) and open vein harvesting(OVH) group(n =200).Each group was divided into two subgroups:group A(age≥70 years old) and group B (age ＜ 70 years old).The number of the group A was 85 in the EVH group and 79 in the OVH group.The number of the group B was 115 in the EVH group and 121 in the OVH group.The intraoperative findings,the quality of GSV and postoperative pain were evaluated,patients were followed up regularly after discharge.Results The postoperative complications occurred in the EVH group such as numbness and edema of lower limb in group A reduced greatly compared with group B(P ＜ 0.05).However,in the OVH group,there were no great difference in group A and group B(P ＞ 0.05) besides the postoperative pain (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The early and mid-term efficacy of EVH undergoing CABG is satisfied,especially in the patients over 70 years old.

Objective:To evaluate the clinical outcomes of 2 kinds of osteocutaneous flap in the treatment of mandibular osteoradione-crosis.Methods:35 cases with mandibular osteoradionecrosis were treated by partial mandibulectomy and bone graft according to de-fect size and patients'requirements.The defects in 7 patients were reconstructed with iliac osteocutaneous flap and 28 with fibular os-teocutaneous flap.All flaps and wounds were monitored regularly.Results:One flap with venin crisis was observed in the patients treated with iliac osteocutaneous flap,its skin island was failed but the bone graft was survived.In the fibular osteocutaneous flap group,3 flaps with vein crisis were observed.2 of them were failed and 1 was rescued after second surgery.The most common compli-cations were infection,delayed wound healing and scar.The appearance and function were all satisfied and limitation of mouth opening was improved after surgery.Conclusion:Both of fibular osteocutaneous flap and iliac osteocutaneous flap can be applied in the defect reconstruction of patients with mandibular osteoradionecrosis.Fibular osteocutaneous flap is a good choice for huge mandibular defect and iliac osteocutaneous flap seems more esthetical.
