China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(11):-
Objective:To observe effects of Panax pseudo-ginseng saponins on protein expression of VEGF, bFGF in myocardium in acute myocardial infarction rats. Methods: The acute myocardial infraction (AMI) model was established in one hundred and forty Wistar rats, and the rats were randomly divided into five groups: the western medicine group mobilized by subcutaneous injection of G-CSF50?g.kg-1.d-1, sham-operated group and model group treated by subcutaneous injection of normal saline 50?g.kg-1.d-1, the Chinese medicine group mobilized by intraperitoneal injection of Xuesaitong (ingredients of Panax pseudo-ginseng saponins) 150mg.kg-1.d-1, the integrative group mobilized by subcutaneous injection of G-CSF 50?g.kg-1.d and intraperitoneal injection of Xuesaitong 150mg.kg-1.d-1. Except for the sham-operated group, each group was divided into three sub-groups by three time points of 1d, 7d and 14d. G-CSF was used once a day for 7 days. Xuesaitong was injected once a day until the rats were killed. The parameters cardiac function in rats with myocardial infarction were detection by color doppler ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus in different times, the expression of VEGF, bFGF in Marginal zone of myocardium in rats with myocardial infarction were detected by immunohistochemistry in different time. Pathological and ultrastructural changes of marginal zone in rats with acute myocardial infarction were observed by electron microscopy and light microscopy. Results:Panax pseudo-ginseng saponins can improve the level of left ventricular systolic function such as EF,FS,it can inhibit the increase of left ventricular LVDD and LVDS,it can improve expression levels of VEGF,bFGF of marginal zone in acute myocardial infarction rats. It also can reduce the damage to cell ultrastructure and promote revascularization in the site around MI area. Panax pseudo-ginseng saponins can protect the myocytes in rats with myocardial infarction. Conclusion:Panax pseudo-ginseng saponins can protect myocardium from ischemic injury in rats after AMI by way of improving expressions of VEGF and bFGF in myocardial cells and promoting angiogenesis in the infarcted of myocardium.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of combined splenorenal shunt and portaazygous devascularization on bleeding esophageal varices. Methods We summarized 120 cases suffering from esophageal variceal bleeding treated by splenorenal shunt plus portaazygods devascularization, from April,1978 to April,1997.Results The operative mortality was 4.2%,no short-term postoperative bleeding, and long-term postoperative bleeding rate was 9.5%,postoperative hepatic encephalopathy rate was 4.8%.Five,ten and fifteen years survival rate were 83.6%,64.5% and 54.5% respectively. The portal hemodynamics was observed by means of Doppler flowmeter,DSA,and intraoperative portal pressure measurement in some of the patients. Conclusion The result showed that combined shunt and portaazygous devacularization not only preserve the advantage of devacularization but also decrease the portal pressure and blood volume, alleviating portal hyperhemodynamics while preserve hepatopetal blood flow to some extent.

patients with chronic alcoholic polyneuropathy (CAPN ) were described. They were all male with age rainging from 33 to 70 years (mean age 53. 7). The cardinal symptoms are. pain and numbness in the extremities, stocking and glove decreased of pain and temperature sense in the legs and arms, the loss of vibration sense and muscule atrophy. The motion nerve conducting velocity (MCV) and sensory nerve conduction velocity (SCV) all are slowed in varying degrees. Superficial peroneal nerve biopsy identified myelin degeneration of myelinated nerve fibers, axonal degeneration or disappearance, degeneration of Schwann cell and also involved perineurium. The change was due to avitaminosis for long-term drinking.

Abstract: In order to investigate immune protection against swine-origin influenza virus (S-OIV) A H1N1, the helper-dependent adenovirus vector (HDAd) system was exploited to construct recombinant HDAd encoding hemagglutinin (HA). The HA gene was synthesized and cloned to the HDAd backbone. Then, the HDAd/HA DNA molecules were transfected into 293Cre4 cells with calcium phosphate. The cells were infected by helper virus 16 hours after the transfection. The 293Cre4 cells were coinfected with HDAd/HA and the helper virus for large-scale preparation of HDAd/HA. The HDAd/HA was obtained and purified twice with CsCI density ultracentrifugation and observed morphologically under transmission electron microscope, and the expression of HA protein was analyzed with RTPCR. Recombinant HDAd/HA expressing HA protein was successfully constructed which could pave the way for in vivo investigation on immunogenicity and efficacy against S-OIV A H1N1 infection.
