Objective To explore whether the dopamine D1 and D2 receptors were involved in pathogenic mechanism of Parkinsonian mice induced by paraquat. Methods The models of Parkinson's mice were induced by oral paraquat. The levels of dopamine D1 and D2 receptor proteins and the expression of receptor mRNAs in striatum were examined by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization, respectively. Results Mice treated by oral paraquat (10mg?day -1 ?kg -1 ) for four months displayed marked hypoactive behavior. The levels of dopamine D1 and D2 receptor proteins in the striatum were significantly decreased by 28% and 29%, respectively (P

China Medical Equipment 2013;(10):36-38
Objective:To explore the effect of rehabilitation nursing on muscle spasm of patients in persistent vegetative state (PVS). Methods:To adopt the rehabilitation nursing methods on 98 PVS patients, including the arrangement of comfortable body position, passive motion, massage, etc.and then to evaluate the patients’ spasm situation with the universally emendatory MAS (motor assessment scale) methods. Results:Under the rehabilitation nursing and correlative curing, the patients’ limbs muscular tension had been improved evidently(x2=17.04, x2=14.04, P<0.01). Conclusion:Good limb position and physical movement rehabilitation nursing training do not need special equipments or techniques. If only the nursing personnel could master the training methods and skills, they could help the PVS patients to control and to decrease the muscle spasm and then to help them ease the pain.

Objective:To evaluate the curative effect of mirror therapy combined with rehabilitation training in the treatment of stroke hemiplegic upper limb motor dysfunction. Methods:To choose 48 patients, were randomly divided into control group, 24 cases in each group to observe, are basic rehabilitation training, observation group joint mirror therapy, using FMA, ARAT, BMI, respectively, evaluation of patients with general motor function, upper limb motor function, daily life ability, numerical measurement of radial carpal extensor emg. Results:After the treatment, the control group, the observation group the FMA level, ARAT level, MBI level, EMG level was higher than that before treatment, the observation group than that in the control group, the observation group FMA, ARAT, MBI, the difference of EMG signals is higher than that of control group, with significant difference(t=14.14,t=4.55,t=5.84, t=9.14;P<0.05).Conclusion: mirror therapy combined with rehabilitation training is really helpful to upper extremity motor functional recovery of stroke patients with hemiplegia, is of positive significance to improve the living ability of the patients.

BACKGROUND:Numerous diseases like cardiac hypertrophy and intervertebral disc degeneration are known to be implicated in the changes of mechanical stress acting on surrounding tissues or cells, and autophagy contributes to the pathogenesis of these diseases. OBJECTIVE:To review the effects of mechanical factors on autophagy in different tissues and the underlying molecular mechanisms, thereby providing references for the research of autophagy and the prevention and treatment of related diseases. METHODS:A search of Web of Science and PubMed databases was performed for the literatures addressing the effects of mechanical factors on autophagy using the English keywords ofautophagy, mechanicaland the articles were summarized systematically. Finally, 52 literatures were enrolled according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Mechanical factors make great effects on autophagy of various cells, such as myocardial cells, endothelial cells, chondrocytes and skeletal muscle cells. Autophagy is a self-protective reaction, and the mechanical stress of physiological conditions induces autophagy to maintain cellhomeostasis, normal function and survival. The mechanism of autophagy induced by mechanical stress may involve PI3K-AKT-mTOR, oxygen free radical, AKT-FoxO and other pathways, and the definite mechanism needs to be further studied.

Objective To evaluate a new gene therapy for the treatment of experimental occlusive arterial disease Methods Magnetic nanospheres were produced, VEGF gene was cloned for subsequent construction of eukaryotic expression plasmid The magnetic gelatin microspheres used in targeted gene therapy were prepared by emulsion crosslinking method The microspheres were injected intrafemorally in rabbits through contralateral femoral artery, and the ischemic limb was placed in a magnetic field Angiography was performed on day 10 and day 30 respectively The capillary density and the capillary to muscle fiber ratio were determined histochemically Results Compared to the controls there was significant collateral artery development in VEGF transfected group The capillary density and the capillary to muscle fiber ratio were significantly higher for the VEGF transfected group than for the control group. The capillary density of control was (125?23)/mm 2, and in VEGF group was (298?27)/mm 2, P

Objective To investigate the proper selection of methods of hepatic vascular control during(resection) of liver carcinoma. Methods Ninety-foury cases of liver carcinoma underwent hepatectomy using 4 different types of hapatic vascular control in our hospital. The operative time, amount of intraoperative blood loss, transfusion, and postoperative drainage, changes of postoperative liver function and complications were analyzed and compared between the 4 groups. Results Of the 94 cases,38(40.4%) underwent routine Pringle′s maneuver,34(36.2%) had selective hemihepatic vascular exclusion,18(19,1%) without(hepatic) inflow occlasion and 4(4.3%) had total vascular exclusion during hepatectomies. All tumors were entirely removed and operations were performed smoothly.Postoperative complications occurred 24 case-times and 2 patients(2.1%) died. Conclusions The selection of method of hepatic vascular control during(hepatectomy) for massive liver carcinoma should be comprehensively determined, based on the size and location of tumor, preoperative liver function, diffculty of hepatectomy and findings at intraoperative exploration.Proper method manner of hepatic vascular control is crucial for successful operation and uneventful recovery of the(patient).

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2012;28(4):410-419
NAD(P)(H)-dependent oxidoreductase catalyzes the reduction of ketones or aldehydes to prepare a wide variety of valuable chiral alcohols or amines. However, expensive cofactors are absolutely required for the biocatalytic processes with oxidoreductases, which severely hinder their industrial applications. Consequently, the issue on reducing cofactor costs has become one of the major focuses in the field of biocatalysis. With the substantial development in recent years, a number of strategies have been proposed and implemented to solve the cofactor issues in the oxidoreductase catalyzed biocatalysis, including the establishment of cofactor regeneration system, the improvement of endogenous cofactor availability via metabolic engineering and the development of biomimetic agents to replace cofactors. In this review, recent trends and advances on these strategies are presented, and respective advantages and shortcomings are also discussed with a number of examples.
