The purpose of our studies was to investigate the relation between the condition of the adrenal and the growth of Sarcoma 180 (S_(180)) in mice. The hybrid Swiss mice were used and divided into four groups: (1) the normal mice for control, male and female, each one half, (2) testectomized mice, (3) female mice with natural resistance to S_(180), (4) S_(180)-bearing mice. The tissue slices of adrenal were stained with H. E. method. The adranal cortex was subdivided into eight zones according as I. C. Jones' opinion. The area of each zone in the cortex was measured by microscope and the weight of each adrenal was obtained with the 10~(-4) scales. The results of our studies are explained as follows:1. When the body weight of the normal adult mice increased, the adrenal weight did not increase. But there was obvious difference of adrenal weights between the normal adult male and female, the former was smaller and the later was larger.2. Objective To determine the value of complexed prostate-specific antigen (cPSA) in predicting metastasis in patients with prostate cancer.Methods From January 2012 to April 2014,the clinical data of 74 patients with newly diagnosed prostate cancer in our hospital was retrospective reviewed.The prostate cancer was diagnosed by transrectal ultrasound guided biopsy and postoperative pathologic diagnosis.The patients were divided to 2 groups according to metastases status.There were 38 patients in the group of metastasis and 36 patients in the group of without metastasis.In metastasis group,the bone metastasis was found in 36 cases.There is only one case with lung metastasis and one case with lymph node metastasis.In the group without metastasis,the T stages classification were T1-T2 in 17 cases and T3-T4 in 19 cases.While,10 cases with T1-T2 stage and 28 cases with T3-T4 stage were confirmed in the group with metastasis.There was no statistical significance of T stages and mean age in two groups (P＞0.05).The level of cPSA in the serum was detected by chemiluminescent immunoassay,the level of tPSA,fPSA were detected by electro-chemiluminescent immunoassay,fPSA/tPSA,cPSA/tPSA were evaluated and the corresponding specificity were calculated.The correlation of age with tPSA,cPSA were analysed.The differences in PSA,fPSA/tPSA,cPSA/tPSA were compared between metastasis and non-metastasis group.ROC curve analysis was used to determine the diagnostic value of cPSA and tPSA,In the meantime,area of ROC curves were compared by Z test.Results The age was not related to the value of tPSA (r=-0.09,P=0.12) and cPSA(r=-0.38,P=0.14).The median levels of tPSA,fPSA,and cPSA are 29.88μg/L,2.18 μg/L and 18.86 μg/L in the group without metastasis,respectively.The median levels of tPSA,fPSA,and cPSA were 410.05 μg/L,51.50 μ.g/L and 290.40 μg/L in the group with metastasis,respectively.Significant differences of those results could be found in two groups (P＜0.05).fPSA/tPSA was 0.07 and cPSA/tPSA was 0.79 in the group without metastasis.fPSA/tPSA was 0.08 and cPSA/tPSA was 0.80 in the group of metastasis.fPSA/tPSA (P=0.77),cPSA/tPSA (P=0.64) in patients with metastasis were not greater than in those without metastasis (P＞0.05).The area under the curve of tPSA and cPSA were 0.83 (95％ CI 0.73-0.93) and 0.82 (95％CI 0.73-0.92) respectively.Analysis of ROC curves showed that the AUC for cPSA is not significant different from tPSA (Z=1.64,P=0.10).The specificity of cPSA was 22.2％ which is higher than that of tPSA (19.4％) at a sensitivity of 92.1％ in predicting metastasis comparing with the patients without metastasis.The sensitivity could reach to 90.0％ when the cut off value of tPSA was 9μg/L or the cut off value of cPSA was 7 μg/L.Conclusions In our study,a preliminary validation that cPSA is useful for predicting the metastasis in patients with prostate cancer was made.

Polyacrylic acid was firstly grafted by N-amino-4-N-methylpiperazine-1,8-naphthlimide (AMN) to prepare a amphiphilic polymer, which was self-assembled in water producing nanoparticles called as PAAMN.Then the morphology, structure and fluorescence properties of PAAMN were investigated by various methods including transmission electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (HNMR) and fluorescence spectroscopy.MTT assay was carried out to assess the cell compatibility of PAAMN.Finally, the fluorescence from PAAMN self and HeLa cells incubated with PAAMN was observed by fluorescence microscope.The results revealed that PAAMN had spherical structure, in which naphthlimide fluorphores were immobilized in the polyacrylic acid matrix with the degree of substitution of 4.1%.Under the physiological pH condition, PAAMN excited at 390 nm could emit strong and stable fluorescence at 534 nm.In the range of pH 4.0-10.0, its excitation and emission wavelengths had no obvious change.The fluorescence intensity of PAAMN increased with the decrease of pH values, but the pH sensitivity of PAAMN was much lower than that of AMN.PAAMN had good cell compatibility.From the pictures of fluorescence imaging, it was found that both PAAMN self and cells-engulfed PAAMN could emit green fluorescence upon excited at 390 nm, indicating the potential of the developed nanoparticle for cell imaging.

Objective:To explore the factors affecting the postoperative prognosis of early cervical squamous cell carcinoma and inves-tigate the different radiotherapy techniques. Methods:A total of 100 postoperative patients of early cervical squamous cell carcinoma treated in Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University and Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from March to September 2013 were enrolled in our study. The prognostic factors for these patients were analyzed. After being subjected to differ-ent postoperative radiotherapy techniques, the efficacy and complications of the techniques were assessed for patients, including 50 cases of conventional radiotherapy (CRT) and 50 cases of image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT). Results:The 3-year overall survival rate was 89%, and the 3-year disease-free survival rate was 78%. The 3-year overall survival rates of the CRT and IGRT groups were 78.57%and 89.06%, respectively. The difference between these rates was statistically significant (P=0.034). The 3-year survival rates of the CRT and IGRT groups were 66.67%and 87.36%, respectively. The difference was statistically significant (P=0.042). The incidence of ear-ly and late complications in the CRT group was higher than that in IGRT group, and the difference of P<0.05 was statistically significant. Multivariate analysis showed that postoperative radiotherapy, parametrial invasion, lymph node metastasis, lymphovascular space in-vasion, perineural invasion, and deep stromal invasion were the independent risk factors for the prognosis of patients with early stage cervical squamous cell carcinoma. Conclusion:Early prognosis of cervical squamous cell carcinoma results from the interaction of mul-tiple factors. The 3-year survival rate of the IGRT group was significantly better than that of the CRT group in the early stage of cervical squamous cell carcinoma. IGRT alleviates acute and chronic toxicities and helps improve the quality of life of patients.

Objective To explore the composition of the high risk events in delivery room ,and then investigate the measure-ments improving the nursing quality .Methods Pareto principle was used to analyses the composition of high risk events in delivery room from January 2010 to June 2012 in a third-grade class-A hospital in Jiangsu province .Results Among all the high risk e-vents ,low satisfaction with nursing care took more than 80% proportion of the total events ,it was called the A events .The dysto-cia ,acute production ,bleeding ,umbilical cord prolapse ,etc cumulative constitute 91% -100% proportion(C events) .Conclusion Managers in delivery room must take measures to improve the paritys`satisfaction with the nursing care ,meanwhile ,other high risk events should also be solved .

Objective To identify the correlation between vitamin D prescription and recurrence in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods A randomized controlled trial study was performed in 170 RA patients who were in remission during the past 2 months.According to the level of vitamin D,170 RA patients were divided into normal vitamin D group (84 patients) and deficiency vitamin D group (86 patients).Deficiency vitamin D group were randomly allocated to receive vitamin D treatment(vitamin D treatment group) or without vitamin D treatment (control group).In the 6-month follow-up period,the recurrence status was observed and compared.Results In the 6-month follow-up period,the recurrence rate of RA in normal vitamin D group was 16.7％(14/84),in vitamin D treatment group was 19.0％(8/42) and in control group was 29.5％(13/44),and there was no significant difference (P ＞ 0.05).In vitamin D treatment group,no hypercalcemia and hyperphosphatemia occured.The age,course of disease and remission time in recurrence patients of three groups were no significant difference (P ＞ 0.05).The level of vitamin D in recurrence patients of vitamin D treatment group was higher than that in recurrence patients of control group:(25.5 ± 8.9) ng/L vs.(20.9 ± 8.6)ng/L,and there was significant difference(P＜ 0.05).Conclusion Vitamin D deficiency is not identified to be a risk factor for RA recurrence.Vitamin D does not reduce the recurrence of RA.

Objective To investigate the value of echocardiography application in the diagnosis of large amount of pericardial effusion (PE) in children by retrospective etiology and prognostic analysis.Methods A total of 68 children with large amount of PE admitted in Beijing Children's Hospital,Capital Medical University from March 2010 to March 2016 were reviewed retrospectively,and the echocardiographic presentations,etiology diagnosis,treatment,and prognosis were analyzed.Results Analysis indicated that the etiology diagnosis ratio was 97.1％ (66/68 cases),the effective ratio of the medical treatment was 71.8％ (46/64 cases),and the mortality rate was 7.8％ (5/64 cases).The morbidity was ranked from high to low as follow:large amount of PE included infectious pericarditis 27 cases,tumor associated PE 14 cases,postpericardiotomy syndrome and cardiotrauma 14 cases,systemic diseases 6 cases,vasa lymphatic related diseases 5 cases and idiopathic PE 2 cases.PE resulted from tumor associated PE and vasa lymphatic diseases had lower cure rate than the overall cure rate,and there were statistical significance (28.6％ vs.71.8％,x2 =9.092,P =0.003;20.0％ vs.71.8％,x2 =5.059,P =0.018).Thirty-five children received pericardiocentesis or fenestration drainage.Chylopericardium was restricted to vasa lymphatic diseases.All tumor associated PE had the hemorrhagic PE.The strong echo point in the pericardial cavity might indicate implication for hemorrhagic PE (x2 =5.166,P =0.023).The abnormal mass detected by echocardiography might indicate the tumor related or infectious causes.Conclusions The etiology of large amount of PE could be determined in most of children.As the preferred diagnosis method,echocardiography could help etiological diagnosis combined with clinical manifestation.

Objective To evaluate the in vitro effect on tumor cell uptake,tumor imaging and in vivo biodistribution of 99Tcm-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mRNA antisense PNA probe mediated by cationic liposome.Methods The oligonucleotide with sequence complementary to part of the EGFR mRNA antisense PNA was hybridized in an anti-parallel orientation targeted PNA.PNA hybridization complexes were labeled with 99Tcm by ligand exchange.The assembly of lipofectamine and 99Tcm-labeled heteroduplex was achieved by electrostatic interactions,and the radiolabeled purity was determined by reversedphase HPLC (RP-HPLC).The disparities of cell uptake in SKOV3 cells and the differences of biodistribution and molecular imaging in BALB/c nude mice bearing SKOV3 xenografts between lipofectanine-mediated 99Tcm-EGFR mRNA antisense PNA (group 1) and 99Tcm-EGFR mRNA antisense PNA (group 2) were analyzed.Two-sample t (or t') test and Wilcoxon rank sum test were used for statistical analysis.Results The labeling rates of both group 1 and group 2 were more than 95％ within 6 h.The cell uptake at 1,2,4,6,12,24 h after injection was (28.90±1.12)％,(32.76±1.20)％,(38.20±3.11)％,(41.23±1.60)％,(46.63±1.55)％ and (46.78±2.14)％ in group 1,and was (3.51±0.39)％,(3.90±0.40)％,(4.69±0.18)％,(5.91±0.26)％,(5.30±0.22)％ and (5.39±0.17)％ in group 2 respectively (t'=47.11-58.67,Z=2.80,all P＜0.05).The retention ratios showed significant difference between the two groups (t'=7.25-11.55,Z=2.80,all P＜0.05).The SKOV3 tumor could be visualized in both groups at 1 h post injection but much better visualized in group 1.The T/NT ratios were higher in group 1 at all time points (t =3.96,t'=12.65-14.69,Z=2.83-5.29,all P＜0.05).The T/NT ratios at uptake peak were 5.02 and 3.95,respectively.The probe accumulated mainly in tumor,kidneys and liver.Tumor uptake increased with time ((1.49±0.09) ％ID/g and (2.15±0.21) ％ID/g at 1 h,(3.90±0.65) ％ID/g and (5.00±0.10) ％ID/g at 6 h) after lipofectamine treatment.The ratios of tumor to contralateral muscle were also higher in group 1 (t =11.24,t' =3.96-11.94,all P＜0.05).Conclusions Lipofectamine-mediation can significantly improve the intracellular delivery of radionuclide molecular probe.Lipofectamine-mediated 99Tcm-EGFR mRNA antisense PNA can greatly improve imaging contrast and visualization of EGFR-over-expressing tumors.

Objective To prepare the 99Tcm-labeled human epidermal growth factor receptor type 2 (HER2) affibody molecule ZHER2:342 and evaluate its receptor binding specificity in vitro.Methods The molecular ZHERa:342 was labeled with 99Tcm using the ligand exchange method.The labeling efficiency and radiochemical purity were measured by HPLC.The major factors,such as the mass of SnC12 and NaOH and reaction time were analyzed,and the optimal method was summarized.Cell binding kinetics and cellular retention of the probe were investigated in HER2-expressing SKOV-3 cells and MDA-MB-231 cells with low HER2 expression respectively.HER2 binding specificity of 99Tcm-ZHER2:342 was analyzed by a pre-injection of excess unlabeled ZHER2:342 to saturate HER2 receptors.One-way analysis of variance and two-sample t test were used.Results The optimal labeling procedure was as follows:5 μg (1 g/L) of ZHER2:342 was mixed with 5 μg of NaOH (1 g/L),then 8.8 μg SnC12(1 g/L,solution) was added,followed by 150 μl (37 MBq) 99TcmO4-solution,and finally the mixture was slightly vortexed and incubated for 1 h at room temperature.99TcmZHER2:342 was stable in vitro with a high labeling efficiency of (98.10± 1.73)％.The radiochemical purity was ＞ 98％,and was more than 85％ after the incubation for 24 h in saline and fresh human serum.The cell binding of 99Tcm-ZHER2:342 with HER2-expressing SKOV-3 cells gradually increased over time with a peak of (9.95± 1.02)％ at 6 h.The binding of 99Tcm-ZHER2:342 in SKOV-3 cells was significantly higher than that in MDA-MB-231 cells at every time point (5.68-9.88 vs 0.56-2.11 ; t:from-34.50 to-13.14,all P＜0.01).The labeled molecular probe retained the capacity to bind specifically to HER2-expressing SKOV-3 cells since the cell binding decreased from (9.95 ± 1.02) ％ to (2.11 ±0.27) ％ after receptor saturation (t =-13.14,P＜0.01).Conclusions 99Tcm-ZHER2:342 has a high labeling efficiency,good stability and optimal binding specificity.These characteristics enable it to be a promising molecular probe for HER2-targeting imaging.

Objective: To evaluate the post-operative complication of pulmonary vein stenosis in patients with total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) by echocardiography.
Methods: A total of 66 TAPVC pediatric patients with surgical repair in our hospital were retrospectively studied. The peri-operative and mid-term post-operative echocardiography was conducted to evaluate the complication of pulmonary vein stenosis.
Results: The peri-operative and mid-term post-operative echocardiography presented the increased left ventricular diastolic end diameter (LVEDd) and decreased right ventricular diameter in all 66 patients, P<0.05. There were 6 patients with pulmonary vein stenosis showed high velocity Doppler signals at atanastomosis. The peri-operative echocardiography in those 6 patients showed increased LVEDd, decreased right ventricular diameter and pulmonary artery pressure, all P<0.05. The mid-term post-operative echocardiography in those 6 patients indicated increased LVEDd, P<0.05, while the right ventricular diameter and pulmonary artery pressure were similar before and after the operation, P>0.05.
Conclusion: Echocardiography may monitor the operative effect of TAPVC, the occurrence of post-operative pulmonary vein stenosis could be found by examining right ventricular diameter and pulmonary artery pressure in pediatric patients.
