Objective To discuss the clinical value of 18 F-FDG PET imaging in postoperative and postradiotherapeutic intracranial glioma during follow up study. Methods 18F-FDG PET imaging in 16 cases of postoperative and postradiotherapeutic intracranial glioma was compared with CT and/or MRI. Results Contrast CT or MRI showed prominent irregular circular or nodular enhancement in 14 of 16 cases (64%),can not distinguished from postopertative changes, radioinjury, tumor residue or recurrence.Among them, 9 cases showed tumor residue or recurrence based on significantly increased FDG uptake, 5 were confirmed by pathologic study. The other 5 cases of cerebral necrosis and 2 cases with postoperative cerebral malacia demonstrated FDG uptake defects. Conclusions 18F-FDG PET imaging has significant dominance in characterizing lesions for differentiating residue or recurrent disease from radioinjury in intracranial glioma. Combined with CT and MRI can provide both anatomical and functional informations.

Objective To study the biological characteristics of cypermethrin?resistance strain and?susceptible strain of Ae?des albopictus under different controlled temperatures in the laboratory. Methods The two strains were raised at three different temperatures 20 25℃and 28℃respectively and the biological characteristics of the two mosquito strains such as reproduc?tion development and life expectancy were observed and recorded in the laboratory. Results The life expectancy of both strains became shorter as the temperature raised and the resistant strain 69.37%± 0.01% 77.04%± 0.07% lived shorter than the susceptible strain 85.24%±0.03% 88.23%±0.05% in average. Under 25℃ the hatching rate of resistant strain decreased by 25.88% and the pupation rate decreased by 11.18%. In the three temperatures all the life expectancy expanded as the tem?perature went up the periods for the susceptible strain were 19.75±0.10 23.65±0.07 d and 25.08±0.08 d under 28 25℃and 20℃. While life expectancy for the resistant strain decreased to 17.21±0.09 20.95±0.09 22.58±0.10 d. Under the same tem?perature the development timing of the resistance strain was longer than that of the susceptible strain and the period was the longest under 28 ℃ 156.2 h 137.1 h . In the three temperatures all the development periods expanded as the temperature went up the susceptible and resistant larvae developed 137.1 d and 163.3 d 247.7 d and 156.2 d 182.3 d and 263.2 d under 28 25℃and 20℃. The differences show statistic significance P<0.05 . Conclusion The resistance of A. albopictus to cy?permethrin results in the decrease of adaptability to the environment change and the disadvantage of reproduction at different temperatures.

OBJECTIVE:To provide theoretic basis for the design and synthesis of novel high-activity biaryl aminothiazineβ-amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme 1 (BACE1) inhibitor, the research and development of new AD therapy drugs. METHODS:Totally 41 molecules of biaryl aminothiazine BACE1 inhibitors were selected. By SYBYL-X 2.0 software package, CoMFA and CoMSIA method were used to construct 3D-QSAR model of derivatized compounds. Surflex-dock molecular docking was applied to analyze binding mode of the compounds with BACE1. RESULTS:The q2 value of 3D-QSAR model established by CoMFA and CoMSIA method were all higher than 0.5,indicating good predictability. The established three dimensional contour plots could manifest the effect of substituents at different sites on activity of compounds. Surflex-dock analysis showed that biaryl aminothiazine and amino acid residues as ASP80, ASP276 and TYR246 in BACE1 had a key effect on hydrogen bonds. CONCLUSIONS:3D-QSAR model established on the basis of biaryl aminothiazine derivatized compounds show good predictability, which provides guidance for the structure optimization of the compound. TYR246 may be another potential active functional residue of biaryl aminothiazine inhibitor compound molecule combined with BACE1. Through 3D-QSAR analysis and molecular docking, new biaryl aminothiazine BACE1 inhibitor can be designed and synthesized so as to research and develop new drugs for AD.

A method was developed for the determination of zeranols (α,β-zearalanol,α,β-zearalenol,zear-alanone,zearalenone) with RRLC-MS/MS in the plant tissue. The samples were extracted with acetonitrile and reextracted with aqueous alkaline solution, cleaned up with MAX column and then determined by RRLC-MS/MS using multiple reaction monitoring ( MRM) scan mode. The results showed that the working curves were linear in the range of 0 -20 μg/kg. The limits of detection ( LOD) of zeranols were 0.5 μg/kg and the limits of quantification (LOQ) was 1. 0μg/kg. Extraction recoveries for zeranols ranged from 75. 8% to 105.4% and RSD was between 2.4% and 12.1%. The method is suitable for the determination of zeranols in the plant tissue.

Objective:To clarify the role of Heat shock proteins (HSPs) on the cardiac function during acute myocardial infarction (AMI) after bone marrow cell implantation (BMT), we examined the expression of HSP32 and HSP70 in a rat model of myocardial infarction. Methods: Myocardial infarction model was induced in the inbred Lewis rats by left anterior descending artery ligation, and 5?10 6 of bone marrow mononuclear cells (BM MNCs) were injected into an ischemic zone. On days 1, 3, 7 and 14 post infarct, the differentiations of transplanted cells and the expressions of HSP32 and HSP70 were determined by immunofluorescence or RT-PCR. The cardiac function was evaluated by echocardiography. Results: Immunofluorescence microscopy of hearts from BMT group revealed that expressions of HSP32 and HSP70 were promoted within cardiomyocytes in the infarction zone and the peri infarct zone, and expressed within some transplanted bone marrow cells as well. RT-PCR also showed the mRNA expression levels of HSP32 and HSP70 in BMT group were significantly higher than those of the control group, peaked on day 3 post infarct (5.0 fold and 2.9 fold, respectively, P

OBJECTIVE1-Bromo-3-chloro-5,5-dimethylhydantoin (BCDMH) is a solid oxidizing biocide for water disinfection. The objective of this study was to investigate the toxic effect of BCDMH on zebrafish.
METHODSThe developmental toxicity of BCDMH on zebrafish embryos and the dose-effect relationship was determined. The effect of BCDMH exposure on histopathology and tissue antioxidant activity of adult zebrafish were observed over time.
RESULTSExposure to 4 mg/L BCDMH post-fertilization was sufficient to induce a number of developmental malformations, such as edema, axial malformations, and reductions in heart rate and hatching rate. The no observable effects concentration of BCDMH on zebrafish embryo was 0.5 mg/L. After 96 h exposure, the 50% lethal concentration (95% confidence interval (CI)) of BCDMH on zebrafish embryo was 8.10 mg/L (6.15-11.16 mg/L). The 50% inhibitory concentration (95% CI) of BCDMH on hatching rate was 7.37 mg/L (6.33-8.35 mg/L). Histopathology showed two types of responses induced by BCDMH, defensive and compensatory. The extreme responses were marked hyperplasia of the gill epithelium with lamellar fusion and epidermal peeling. The histopathologic changes in the gills after 10 days exposure were accompanied by significantly higher catalase activity and lipid peroxidation.
CONCLUSIONThese results have important implications for studies on the toxicity and use of BCDMH and its analogs.

Objective:To investigate the changes of perioperative serum osteosclerosis protein (SOST) and Dickkopf-3 (Dkk-3) in elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture. Methods:Thirty elderly patients who underwent reduction and fixation of femoral intertrochanteric fracture in Baoding Second Hospital from May 2017 to December 2017 were prospectively selected as the observation group; 30 healthy subjects in the same period were selected as the healthy control group. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the expression of serum SOST and Dkk-3 at 1 d before operation and at 1, 3, 5 d after operation and compared with the same period of healthy physical examination(normal control group). Spearman rank correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between SOST and Dkk-3 and disease activity score (ASDAS) and spinal imaging evaluation score (mSASSS).Results:There was a positive correlation between Dkk-3 level and ASDAS score in the observation group ( r = 0.331, P = 0.012); the level of SOST was negatively correlated with the scores of ASDAS ( r = - 0.162, P = 0.017). The levels of serum SOST and Dkk-3 in the observation group were lower than those in the healthy control group: 1.29(1.00, 2.40) μg/L vs. 1.96(1.63, 2.65) μg/L, (6.11 ± 1.15) μg/L vs. (9.81 ± 1.76) μg/L, P<0.05. The levels of serum SOST and Dkk-3 in the observation group increased first and then decreased on the 1st, 3rd and 5th day after operation. The level of serum Dkk-3 increased to the highest level on the 3rd day after operation, and then decreased gradually, but it was still slightly higher than that before operation. The level of serum SOST in the observation group increased to the highest level 1st day after operation, and decreased at 3rd and 5th day after operation. The perioperative serum levels of SOST and Dkk-3 in the observation group were positively correlated, the correlation coefficient was the largest at 1 day after operation ( r = 0.571) and the lowest before operation ( r = 0.119). Conclusions:The perioperative serum levels of SOST and Dkk-3 in elderly patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture increased first and then decreased. The change of serum SOST level is more sensitive and can be used as a sensitive index to reflect the change of osteogenic ability.

Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2012;37(5):527-531
OBJECTIVE:
To establish a scientific foundation for cosmetic supervision and administration based on the analysis of the sanitary quality of cosmetics in Hunan Province during 2010.
METHODS:
According to Cosmetic Sanitary Standards (set by the Ministry of Health, People's Republic of China), 150 random samples of cosmetics in Hunan were assayed both for microbial items (including total plate count, fungus and yeast, fecal coliform, staphylococcus aureus, pseudomonas aeruginosa) and chemical items (including 17 kinds of prohibited substances and 14 kinds of restricted substances).
RESULTS:
The total rate of cosmetics failing to meet the standards was 22.0% of the 150 samples; specific rates for failing perfumes, skin care products (eye cream) and deodorant products were, relatively, 70.6%, 60.00%, and 44.4%. Four kinds of prohibited substances, including diethyl phthalate, acrylamide, asbestos and neodymium, as well as 2 kinds of restricted substances, including triclosan and formaldehyde, were found to exceed standards. None of microbial items exceeded standard levels.
CONCLUSION
The sanitary quality control of cosmetics is lax. Administrative departments should not only reinforce their post-production supervision with respect to cosmetics, but also consolidate their control over the process of cosmetic production in order to solve the problem of toxic residues or illegal and intentional adulterations.
