Objective To compare the efficacies of several commonly-used penetrating needling methods in treating post-stroke strephenopodia. Method Eighty-three patients with post-stroke strephenopodia were randomized into four groups, a control group intervened by conventional needling method (n=20), and the rest three groups were additionally intervened by different penetrating needling methods: penetrating group 1 [Qiuxu (GB40) towards Zhaohai (KI6), n=21], penetrating group 2 [Taibai (SP3) towards Shugu (BL65), n=21], and penetrating group 3 [Jiaoxin (KI8) towards Fuyang (BL59), n=21], to compare their effects on the function of ankle and lower extremity. Result The penetrating needling methods and conventional needling method all can significantly improve the function of ankle in patients with post-stroke strephenopodia (P<0.01). The effectiveness of penetrating group 1 was more significant than that of the rest groups (P<0.01), the effectiveness of penetrating group 2 was more significant than that of penetrating group 3 and the control group (P<0.05,P<0.01), and there was no significant difference in comparing the effectiveness between penetrating group 3 and the control group (P > 0.05). The penetrating needling methods and conventional needling method all can significantly improve the motor function of lower extremity in patients with post-stroke strephenopodia (P<0.01). The effectiveness of penetrating group 1 was more significant than that of the other groups (P<0.01), the efficacies of penetrating group 2 and 3 were more significant than that of the control (P<0.01), and there was no significant difference in comparing the effectiveness between penetrating group 2 and 3 (P>0.05). Conclusion Needling from Qiuxu towards Zhaohai and from Taibai towards Shugu can produce significant effects in improving ankle function and the motor function of lower extremity in patients with post-stroke strephenopodia, while needling from Jiaoxin to Fuyang doesn’t have notable advantage compared to the other penetrating needling methods and conventional needling method.

Objective To discuss the clinical value of 18 F-FDG PET imaging in postoperative and postradiotherapeutic intracranial glioma during follow up study. Methods 18F-FDG PET imaging in 16 cases of postoperative and postradiotherapeutic intracranial glioma was compared with CT and/or MRI. Results Contrast CT or MRI showed prominent irregular circular or nodular enhancement in 14 of 16 cases (64%),can not distinguished from postopertative changes, radioinjury, tumor residue or recurrence.Among them, 9 cases showed tumor residue or recurrence based on significantly increased FDG uptake, 5 were confirmed by pathologic study. The other 5 cases of cerebral necrosis and 2 cases with postoperative cerebral malacia demonstrated FDG uptake defects. Conclusions 18F-FDG PET imaging has significant dominance in characterizing lesions for differentiating residue or recurrent disease from radioinjury in intracranial glioma. Combined with CT and MRI can provide both anatomical and functional informations.

Objective To assess the clinical efficacy of foam sclerotherapy with lauromacrogol for varicose veins of the lower extremities. Methods During the period from February to July 2011,we retrospectively analyzed 20 patients with varicose veins of the lower extremities, who were treated with lauromacrogol foam sclerosing agent injected directly at varicose veins, and in 5 extremities injected at the great saphenous vein(GSV) through a catheter at the same time.Elastic bandages were applied at the site of the injected varicosities after the therapy. The clogging of the varicose veins, the improvement of the clinical symptoms and the adverse reaction were observed. Results Lauromacrogol foam sclerosing agent was successfully injected under the guidance of fluoroscopy in 20 patients with 28 affected extremities. The average volume of foam sclerosing agent in each affected extremity was 7.8 ml. All patients presented selflimiting minor complications, including swelling and pain, which was obviously alleviated by the externallyapplied Mucopolysaccharide Polysulfate Cream. Two patients presented cough that was relieved after inhaling oxygen. Most of treated varicosities demonstrated pigmentation after the first week, which gradually disappeared after the four-month use of vitamin E capsule.A second foam sclerotherapy was carried out for 3 affected extremities of 3 patients two months after the first therapy. Two cases of leg venous ulcer were healed within a few weeks. All patients could walk immediately with no deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, anaphylaxis,or transient visual disturbance. Obvious abnormal varicose veins as well as the soreness and fatigue of the lower extremities disappeared in all patients at the 10th-month follow-up.The grading of the disease was significantly improved by the treatment (Z =5.103,P < 0.01 ).Conclusions The efficacy of lauromacrogol foam sclerosing agent in the treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities is confirmed, with advantages of lower complication, ease of treatment, repeatability, and outpatient treatment.the filling-defects technique under fluoroscopy is a method for tracing the sclerosing foam, and can effectively prevent the decp vcin thrombosis.

A method was developed for the determination of zeranols (α,β-zearalanol,α,β-zearalenol,zear-alanone,zearalenone) with RRLC-MS/MS in the plant tissue. The samples were extracted with acetonitrile and reextracted with aqueous alkaline solution, cleaned up with MAX column and then determined by RRLC-MS/MS using multiple reaction monitoring ( MRM) scan mode. The results showed that the working curves were linear in the range of 0 -20 μg/kg. The limits of detection ( LOD) of zeranols were 0.5 μg/kg and the limits of quantification (LOQ) was 1. 0μg/kg. Extraction recoveries for zeranols ranged from 75. 8% to 105.4% and RSD was between 2.4% and 12.1%. The method is suitable for the determination of zeranols in the plant tissue.

This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of closing the small bowel in an ex vivo porcine model with high-frequency welding device. A total of 100 porcine small bowels were divided into two groups, and then were closed with two different methods. The fifty small bowels in experimental group were closed by the high-frequency welding device, and the other fifty small bowels in comparison group were hand-sutured. All the small bowels were subjected to leak pressure testing later on. The speed of closure and bursting pressure were compared. The 50 porcine small bowels closed by the high-frequency welding device showed a success rate of 100%. Compared with the hand-sutured group, the bursting pressures of the former were significantly lower (P<0.01) and the closing process was significantly shorter (P<0.01). The pathological changes of the closed ends mainly presented as acute thermal and pressure induced injury. Experimental results show that the high-frequency welding device has higher feasibility in closing the small bowel.

Objective To investigate the alexithymia, mental health condition and their relationship in female rheumatoid arthritis patients. Methods Fifty-four female patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 50 healthy women were enrolled and assessed with Chinese version of the 20-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) and the symptom checklist-90(SCL-90). Disease duration and DAS28 of the patients were also recorded and calculated. The data were statistical analyzed by t test between the two groups and other block groups. The association between TAS-20, SCL-90, duration and DAS28 was assessed using Spearman corre-lations. Results ① The TAS-20 total score and Tf1, Tf2, Tf3 factors score of female rheumatoid arthritis patients were significantly higher than those of the control group (57±9, 51±7, t=4.15, P<0.01); it was also the same with the total score and factors score of SCL-90 (beside the paranoid factor) between patients and control groups (165±50, 138±41, t=3.06, P<0.05). ② Correlation analysis showed significantly positive correlation between Tf1 factor and all factors of SCL-90, also between Tf3 factor and obsession-compulsion, interpersonal sensitivity, phobias and paranoid factors(P<0.05). ③ Only hostility factor was different between the higher TAS-20 total score group and the lower one. However, the obsession-compulsion, anxiety and phobias factors scores of the higher Tf1 score group were significantly higher than those of the lower one (P<0.05); The higher Tf3 score group was significantly different from the lower one in obsession-compulsion, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, hostility, paranoid and psychoticism factors (P<0.05). The Tf1 factor score of higher SCL-90 total score group was significant higher than that of the lower one (P<0.05). ④ There were significantly positive correlation between duration and depression and paranoid factors, also between
DAS28 and anxiety and paranoid factors (P <0.05). Conclusion There is obvious alexithymia and psychological problems in female rheumatoid arthritis patients; the Tf1 and Tf3 factors of TAS-20, duration and DAS28 are all major factors related to the psychological state.
