Objective To study the route of branches of the internal iliac artery for presenting basic applied anatomy to be used in pelvic tumor diagnosis and interventional therapy through angiographic manifestations. Methods The branches of the internal iliac artery were studied by means of dissection on 45 adult cadavers(30 male, 12 female), including the origin, length, external diameter and bifurcation angle; and additionally angiographic characteristics of pelvic tumors in 42 cases together with normal ones of another 50 cases through bilateral selective internal iliac arteriography. Results①The angle between left and right common iliac artery was (58.9??7.3?),and that between the external and internal iliac artery was (27.6??5.3?). Iliolumbar artery and obturator artery were mainly originated from the main trunk of internal iliac artery and the distal portion (50%, 84.8%).②The external diameter of the branches of the internal iliac artery measured on cadavers was significantly smaller than that on patients alive. Conclusions Normal variations occur frequently in the origination, site of orifice and route of the middle and small branches of the internal iliac artery.

ObjectiveTo investigate the amount of bacteria and the expression of amylase and lipases in the drainage fluid in patients with intestinal fistulas with time courses.MethodsThe samples were collected from 16 patients with high intestinal fistulas from July 1998 to January 2008.The amounts of bacteria from the drainage fluid were measured 0,2 and 4 hours after taking out from the patients.At the respective time points,the intestinal juices were also collected to measure the amylase and lipase expressions.After reinfusion of succus entericus,thelevels of albumin,prealbumin,transferring,and fibronectin were measured at 0,7,and 14 days,ResultsThere was no significant increase of bacteria in the drainage fluid within 4 hours ( F(0,2) =18 812.50,P ＞ 0.05 ; F(0,4) =387 625.00,P ＞ 0.05).and there was no change in the expressions of amylase ( F(0,2) =190.60,P ＞ 0.05 ;F(0,4) =631.75,P＞0.05) and lipase within 4 hours (F(0,2) =204.10,P＞0.05; F(0,4) =1080.05,P＞0.05).After succus entericus reinfusion,the fibronectin (F(0,14) =74.24,P ＜ 0.01 ; F(7,14) =59.78,P ＜0.01),transferring (F(0,14) =0.46,P ＜ 0.01 ; F(7,14) =0.39,P ＜ 0.05 ),and prealbumin ( F(0,14) =54.37,P ＜ 0.05) were increased significantly.ConclusionsBacteria and enzymes do not increase in the drainage fluid within 4 hours in patients with intestinal fistulas.Therefore,it is safe and effective to reinfuse succus entericus.

Objective To study the clinical efficacy of computer-assisted stereotactic brain transplantation of human retinal pigment epithelium (hRPE) cells into the patients with Parkinson disease (PD). Methods Under the guidance of computed X-ray tomography and magnetic resonance imaging image mergence, 4 × 106 hRPE cells were transplanted into the putamen and ventriculus laterlis of 17 cases of PD by stereotactic surgery. The transplantation sites were contralateral to the side of main symptoms and signs. The curative efficacy were observed at the 7th day, 1st month, and 3rd month after the transplantation. Results The contralateral symptoms were ameliorated continuously after the transplantation. Three months after the surgery, the total effective rate of cell transplantation was 88. 2 %, and 82. 4 % of the cases got significant improvement. The cases that got ipsilateral improvement soon after the surgery gave a total effective rate as high as 88. 2 % at the 3rd month during follow-up period, and 64. 7% among these cases improved significantly. Only a minority of cases had transient dizziness and hemiparesis, but the duration was short. Conclusion The therapy, computer-assisted stereotactic transplantation of hRPE ceils in the treatment of PD, is safe and efficient.
