Objective To evaluate tumor angiogenesis and clinical significance by contrast-enhanced CT in case of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods 30 patients with NSCLC underwent dynamic thoracic CT, and histopathological slides were carefully prepared for VEGF immunohistochemical staining. Maxium attenuations of dynamic CT were compared with VEGF expression levels and lymph-node metastases. Results The mean peak attentation was (36.28?6.41)HU, VEGF positive expressions were in 21 patients, and negative expressions were in 9 patients. VEGF expression levels in patients with NSCLC stage II and III were higher than those in stage I , and in lymph node metastases group, the expression levels of VEGF were also higher than those in non-metastatic nodes. CT enhancement of NSCLC was positively related to VEGF expression, neoplasm stage and lymph-node metastases. Conclusion CT enhancement of NSCLC can reflect tumor angiogenesis and correlate to lymph-node metastases closely, help lung cancer diagnoses, neoplasm stage, and serve as a supplement to the present staging system for lung cancer in biological behavior.

Objective:
To investigate the level of injury first aid skills and its influencing factors among parents of preschool children in Dongxihu District, Wuhan City, so as to provide insights into carrying out targeted health education work.
Methods:
Parents of preschool children from kindergarten in Dongxihu District were selected using multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method. Basic information of preschool children, parents' demographic information, and parents' knowledge of injury first aid skills were collected through questionnaires. The level of injury first aid skills among parents was analyzed and its influencing factors were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 1 148 questionnaires were allocated and 1 131 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 98.52%. The respondents included 242 men (21.40%) and 889 women (78.60%). The parents surveyed were mainly mothers, with 862 accounting for 76.22%. The level of injury first aid skills was 39.43%. Among the individual injury first aid skills, the proportions of mastering the treatment of cardiac arrest and arm fracture were relatively high, which were 94.69% and 94.16%, respectively, while the proportion of mastering the correct steps of cardiopulmonary resuscitation was the lowest, at 31.21%. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that the grade of children (middle class, OR=1.374, 95%CI: 1.021-1.847; senior class, OR=1.561, 95%CI: 1.147-2.125), age (30 to 34 years old, OR=1.712, 95%CI: 1.170-2.505), education level (high school/technical secondary school and below, OR=0.664, 95%CI: 0.515-0.857), and having learned injury first aid skills (OR=1.653, 95%CI: 1.284-2.129) were influencing factors of injury first aid skills among parents of preschool children.
Conclusions
The level of injury first aid skills among parents of preschool children is relatively low. The first aid ability of parents whose children are in small classes, older, less educated, and have not learned injury first aid skills should be specifically improved.

Objective To evaluate the difference of PC values based on GBZ 97-2002 and on GBZ 97-2009 for lung cancer cases in Chinese uranium miners. Methods Using 19 lung cancer data ascertained in the past epidemiological study,PC values were calculated according to GBZ 97-2002 and GBZ 97-2009.Results In the 19 lung cancer cases, those cases that could not be judged as radiogenic cancers based on GBZ 97-2002,but may be judged as radiogenic cancers with GBZ 97-2009.The probability was enlarged by 1.1 times at least. The major reason was that the used value was the upper limit of 95% in GBZ 2009 but the median in 2002.Conclusions Compared to GBZ 97-2002,the criteria value of PC in GBZ 97-2009 drops obviously.

Objective To evaluate the effects of Ulinastatin (UTI) on the expressions of TNF-α,IL-6 and neurons apoptosis in cerebral cortex of rats after cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).Methods Thirty-six healthy male adult Wistar rats were induced ventricular fibrillation untreated for 7 min and then received CPR.The animals were infused UTI 100 000 U/kg or phosphate-buffered solution (PBS) at once after ROSC.At 2,4 and 8 h after ROSC,cerebral cortex were removed to determine the mRNA expressions and levels of TNF-α protein and IL-6 protein, the translocation ratio of NF-κB p65 from cytoplasm to nucleus and the apoptotic neurons. Results The plasma levels of TNF-α (ng/mL) in animals of UTI group were (17.7 ± 1.4),(21.9 ± 2.1) and (17.1 ± 0.6) at 2,4 and 8 h after ROSC respectively, and significantly lower than those in PBS group at the given intervals.Mean while, the levels of IL-6 (ng/mL) were (208.9 ± 14.1),(281.5 ±25.9) and (251.8 ± 15.3) at 2,4 and 8 h after ROSC respectivèly in animals of UTI group, and lower than those in PBS group. The expressions of TNF-α mRNA and IL-6 mRNA and protein levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in UTI group were both lower than those in PBS group at given intervals, respectively. The translocation ratio of NF-κB p65 from plasma to nucleus in PBS group at each given interval after ROSC was significantly higher than that in UTI group. The number of viable neurons in cerebral cortex in UTI group was higher than that in PBS group, while the number apoptosis neurons was fewer in UTI group. Conclusions UTI attenuated the general inflammatory response after ROSC in rat, decreased the activation of NF-κB pathway, and subsequently attenuated the expression of TNF-α and IL-6,and finally decreased the neurons apoptosis.

Objective To explore the applicable conditions for using urine plutonium monitoring data to assess personal internal doses,in order to provide references for the occupational health management and the urine plutonium monitoring in nuclear sector. Methods Using some plutonium mixtures from DOE nuclear facilities,as an example, the urine plutonium levels were estimated through simulation calculation at 1 mSv effective dose arising from either acute or chronic inhalation of plutonium compounds, respectively. The results were compared with the typical detection limit of radiochemical separation and α-spectrometry.The feasibility of urine plutonium monitoring for dose assessment of internal radiation exposure was discussed. Results Only for type M plutonium compunds,1 mSv detection limit can be achieved using radiochemical separation and α-spectrometry within 10 d after inhalation. Conclusions Before the monitoring plan of urine plutonium is made, detection limits of monitoring method should be considered.Internal dose could be accessed using workplace air monitoring and working hours when necessary.

Based on the study of solid cancer incidence in survivors of the atomic bomb disaster (atomic bomb survivors) from 1958 to 1998, the Radiation Effects Research Foundation (RERF) performed an additional 11-year follow-up (1999—2009) to further investigate the 50-year solid cancer incidence of atomic bomb survivors from 1958 to 2009. Considering influencing factors such as gender, smoking, drinking, body mass index, and medical exposure, we updated the radiation risk estimate for solid cancer and found a new problem of the relationship between gender-specific dose response, exposure age and cancer incidence during the study, which provides guidance for future research.

Objective To analysis the change of hip joint in healthy infants by ultrasound, and establish the normal reference value of the developmental dysplasia of the hip(DDH). Methods A total of 8 000 healthy infants from 0 to 24 weeks were collected from the Multi-center study of 10 children′s medical centers. Among them,3 855 infants(2 065 females and 1 790 males) with complete data and follow-up were included in this study. All subjects were divided into 6 groups ( <4,4~7,8~11,12~15,16~19 and≥20 weeks group). α angle, femoral head length and width, femoral head coverage ratio by acetabulum ( FHC) were measured in the coronal view on the neutral position;distance from pubis to femoral head ( P-H) and distance from ischium to femoral head ( I-H ) were measured in the transverse view on neutral position;distance from femoral head topubis ( H-P) was measured in the posterolateraltransverse view on the flexion position. The results of each group changes with age were analysised. Results ① The α angle of healthy infants from 0 to 20 weeks were increased with age,the difference among the groups were statistically significant( P <0.05),but there was no significant difference between 16~19 and ≥20 weeks group( P >0.05). ②The femoral head length and width of all age groups were increased with age,the difference among all the groups was statistically significant( all P <0.05). ③ FHC from 0 to 20 weeks were increased with age,the difference among the groups were statistically significant( P <0.05) except between 16~19 and ≥20 weeks group( P >0.05). ④ The P-H and I-H in all age groups showed no statistically significant ( all P>0.05). ⑤The H-P of all age groups were increased with age,the difference between the groups were statistically significant(all P <0.05).Conclusions The development of hip joints have the certain regular developmental pattern in healthy infants less than 5 months of birth and are relatively constant after birth more than 5 months. The ultrasound normal reference value of the hip joints can be used for the early diagnosis of the DDH.
