2.Association between γ-glutamyl transpeptidase-to-platelet ratio and hepatic fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B
Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2017;33(3):548-552
Early and accurate diagnosis of hepatic fibrosis and application of antiviral therapy are the key to improving the prognosis of patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB).Liver biopsy and transient elastography cannot be widely used for the diagnosis of hepatic fibrosis in clinical practice, and therefore, the serological diagnostic model has become a hot research topic in recent years. This article introduces a new serological diagnostic model,γ-glutamyl transpeptidase-to-platelet ratio (GPR),which has a high value in the diagnosis of hepatic fibrosis in CHB patients;however, the accuracy of GPR varies between different populations and different areas.GPR is also an excellent predictor for the prognosis of hepatitis B-associated liver cancer. It is pointed out that GPR has a promising future in the diagnosis of hepatic fibrosis in CHB patients, but due to a lack of clinical research data on GPR,further studies are needed to support its application in China.

Journal of International Oncology 2013;(4):255-259
Studies show that heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) can promote the tumor neovascularization via interacting with angiogenic factors, such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and stromal cell-derived factor-1.On the other hand,HO-1 may suppress angiogenesis in tumors via inhibiting the transcription of NF-кB.In a word,HO-1 may participate in the pathophysiological process of tumor angiogenesis, and may be a new target for cancer treatment.

Journal of International Oncology 2012;(12):883-886
HIC1 (hypermethylated in cancer 1) encodes a transcriptional repressor, and extensively resides in various kinds of normal tissue.HIC1 gene is located in chromosome 17p13.3,in which loss of heterozygote or super-methylation is frequently found in a variety of human cancers. As a new tumor marker,HIC1 has been confirmed down-regulated in a wide variety of solid cancers because of HIC1 promoter hypermethylation, and may be associated with tumor prognosis. As a tumor suppressor,HIC1 participates in the development of tumor process through various ways, and is involved in cell proliferation, tumour growth, and angiogenesis. Therefore, the abnormal hypermethylation or the loss of expression of HIC1 in tumor cells or abnormal function could be one of the important mechanisms of tumor development, and may become a new potential therapeutic targets for cancer.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the synergistic effect of retinol and leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) on maintaining pluripotency of murine embryonic stem cells (mESCs). Methods The mESCs were randomly divided into two groups, and they were all cultured with the same LIF concentration (100U/ml). Retinol was added into mESCs medium in experimental group, and retinol was not added in control group. 14 days after culturing, the changes in cell morphology were observed under an inverted microscope with alkaline phosphatase staining. The mRNA expression of Oct4 and Nanog was analyzed by RT-PCR, and the proteins for Oct4 and Nanog were determined by Western-blot for the assessment of the pluripotency of mESCs. Results 14 days after culturing, 78% of mESCs in the experimental group formed good cell colonies with good stereoscopic appearance, and they showed strong alkaline phosphatase (AKP) staining. While in the control group, only 35% of mESCs were in undifferentiated mode, and the cells were weakly positive with AKP staining. The quantity of undifferentiated mESCs in experimental group (7.02?0.34) was higher than that in control group (4.28?0.37, P
