Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(12):892-894
Cytokeratin 8 ( CK8 ) belongs to the keratin family of intermediate filament cytoskeletal proteins. A lot of researches have demonstrated that abnormal expression or post-translational modifications of CK8 may affect its activity and consequently affect the development and progression of tumors. Therefore, investigating the role of CK8 in tumorigenesis may contribute to the prevention and treatment of tumors.

4.EFFECTS OF DITHIZONE ON Zn METABOLISM IN MATERNAL RATS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF BRAIN OF THEIR PUPS
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(02):-
The changes of zine content in serum and feces observed after intragastric administration of a certain dose of dithizone to the pregnant rats in their third trimester for one week, and the developing status of brain of their pups were studied. The result showed that the total fecal exerction of zine during 24 hours increased and serum zine content decreased significantly aftcr continual administration of dithizone for one week in maternal rats. It suggested that dithizone may be used for making animal model of zine deficiency. The body and brain weights, brain protein content and RNA/DNA ratio of the newborn delivered by the zine-deficiency maternal rats decrcased significantly. This indicates that the maternal zine dificiency in third trimester gives side effects on the development of their fctal brain.
5.Relationship between ultrastructural features with the expression of connexin 43 in the uterine junction zone and pathogenesis of adenomyosis
Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2010;45(10):762-766
Objective To investigate the relationship between the ultrastructural features combined with the expression of connexin ( Cx43 ) protein in uterine junction zone and pathogenesis of adenomyosis. Methods From Nov. 2008 to Nov. 2009, 30 patients with adenomyosis (including 14 cases with proliferative endometrium and 16 cases with secretory endometrium) as study group matched with 30 women with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (GIN) Ⅲ treated by hysterectomy as control group were enrolled in this study in Affiliated Hospital to Inner Mongolia Medical College. The expression of Cx43 in uterine junction zone of patients with adenomyosis was detected by immunohistochemisty staining. The ultrastucture of eutopic endometrium, uterine junction zone and outer 1/3 myometrium in both groups without history of dilatation and curettage, C-section and uterine surgery were observed by using transmission electron microscopy. Results ( 1 )The expression of Cx43 in proliferative and secretroy uterine junction zone were 0.133 ±0.018 and 0.137 ± 0.021 in study group and 0.154 ±0.016 and 0.141 ±0.018 in control group, which reached statistical difference (P <0.05). However, it didn't show significant expression of Cx43 between proliferative and secretory uterine junction zone in study or control group ( P > 0.05 ). The expression of Cx43 in proliferative and secretory of eutopic endometrium of 0.067 ± 0.017 and 0.062 ± 0142 in study group were significantly lower than 0.094 ±0.005 and 0.080 ±0.005 in control group. It didn't show statistical difference of Cx43 expression between proliferative and secretroy eutopic endometrium in both group. The expression Cx43 in outer myometrium of proliferative phase were 0.184 ± 0.022 in study group and 0.188 ± 0.028 in control group, which did not show significant difference (P >0.05). It also did not exhibit statistical difference of Cx43 expression in outer myometrium of secretory phase (0.178 ± 0.022,0.191 ± 0.025,P >0.05). (2) Morphological changes: the area of uterine smooth muscle cells of the uterine junction zone of (24. 3 ± 1.6) μm2 in study group were significantly increased than (21.8 ±2.0)μm2 in control group (P < 0.01 ). The length of the cell membrane dense plaques of (1.07 ± 0. 17 )μm in study group was significantly increased than (0.71 ±0.07) μm in control group (P <0.01 ). The myocytes exhibited cellular hypertrophy and disordered arrangement and fewer caveolae. There was cylindrical and dentate, chromatin margination, more heterochromatin in which muscle cells of nuclear surface of the uterine junction zone. Less cytoplasmic myofilaments and more intermediate filaments. Mitochondria were increased, the volume increased significantly vacuolization. The rough endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus were more prominent. Otherewise, mast cells and fibroblasts were close and glandular epithelial cells showed desmosome connection which villus thickening and dense. All features were more prominent at the junctional zone. Conclusions The down-regulation of Cx43 expression and ultrastructure changes in the junction zone might play an important role in pathogenesis of adenomyosis.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine in Intensive and Critical Care 2015;(6):619-621
Objective To explore the clinical effect of Chinese medicine enema combined with massage of Hui medicine for treatment of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC).Methods A prospective randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted, 390 patients with UC admitted to Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region People's Hospital from January 2013 to December 2014 were enrolled, and they were divided by using random envelope method into the western medicine control group (88 cases), simple TCM enema group (102 cases), simple massage of Hui medicine group (94 cases) and enema combined with massage group (106 cases). The patients in western medicine control group took sulfasalazine orally, once 0.75 g, thrice a day. The simple TCM enema group adopted the self prepared Shexue Fuyang decoction (ingredients: carbonized sanguisorba root 15-20 g, bletilla striata 15 g, patrinia 15-30 g, sculellaria barbata 15-30 g, Chinese goldthread 15 g, radix glycyrrhizae preparata 15 g, Fry terminaliachebuia 10 g, yam 15-30 g, india madder root 15 g) retention enema once a day. The following principles should be followed: firstly, the dose of drug should be large enough (250 mL), secondly the speed of enema should be relatively slow and it finished in 15-20 minutes, thirdly the temperature of decoction should be kept at moderate degree about 39-41 ℃ (a warm bag being around the enema tube), and lastly, the patient's posture should be changed (lying left-side for 20 minutes, lying at chest-abdomen position for 20 minutes, lying right-side for 20 minutes). In massage of Hui medicine group, based on the location and size, depth and seriousness of the lesion, the doctor would selectively use palm or index finger to carry out massage manipulations of pressing, fractioning, rubbing or grasping for different disease situations of patients, once 30 minutes pre day. The patients in enema combined massage group were treated with the same methods as above, and the therapeutic course of the four groups was 15 days; at the end of experiment, the therapeutic effects and the improvement of main symptoms in four groups were observed. Results The clinical total effective rates of Chinese medicine enema group, massage of Hui medicine group, enema combined massage group were obviously higher than the rate of western medicine control group [78.4% (80/102), 85.1% (80/94), 93.4% (99/106) vs. 62.5% (55/88), allP < 0.05]; the symptom integrals, such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, tenesmus, purulent blood stool, fever, etc. were significantly decreased after treatment in the TCM enema, massage and combined treatment groups, and the integrals of the three treatment groups were obviously lower than those in the western medicine control group (abdominal pain: 0.45±0.75, 0.56±0.57, 0.35±0.96 vs. 1.13±0.86, diarrhea: 0.76±0.91, 0.78±0.69, 0.55±0.81 vs. 1.43±0.34, tenesmus: 0.52±0.37, 0.44±0.23, 0.21±0.13 vs. 0.72±0.98, purulent blood stool: 0.43±0.34, 0.50±0.24, 0.52±0.76 vs. 0.68±0.44, fever: 0.32±0.56, 0.35±0.65, 0.26±0.45 vs. 0.49±0.77, allP < 0.05).Conclusion The therapeutic effects of Shexue Fuyang decoction enema combined with massage of Hui medicine for treatment of patients with UC are better than those of each of the following treatment alone: western medicine, Chinese medicine enema or medical massage treatment.
