Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2010;14(1):166-170
BACKGROUND: At present, bone defects usually repaired by autologous bone, allogenic bone, synthetic bone substitutes and other methods, which received poor clinical results. Preliminary studies have shown that adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs) possess strong proliferation ability and differentiation potential, and can be induced differentiate into bone. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the application of ADSCs in bone tissue engineering, and to identify whether ADSCs can be used as seed cells in bone tissue engineering. METHODS: The databases of PubMed (1999-01/2008-12) and Tongfang (2003-01/2008-12) was retrieved using key words of "adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells, adipose mesenchymal stem cells, adipose stem cell; osteogenic induction, osteogenic inducement, bone induction, osteoblastic induced; chondroblast induction, cartilage induction; bone tissue engineering, tissue engineering bone, tissue engineering of bone". RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: A total of 361 literatures were collected, including 246 in Chinese and 115 in English. Totally 29 literatures were accordant with the study criteria. ADSCs is a truly multi-directional differentiation potential cells, which possess strong amplification and self-renewal potential, and can be directional differentiated into osteoblasts, cartilage cells, bone cells and muscle cells. It can be used as seed cells in bone tissue engineering when matching appropriate stents.

Chinese Circulation Journal 2016;31(9):854-857
Objective: To study the relationship between insulin resistance (IR) and coronary collateral circulation in patients with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). Methods: A total of 227 patients with coronary angiography (CAG) were studied. There were 131 patients with male gender and the average patient’s age was (53.2 ± 11.0) years. IR (HOMA2-IR) index was measured by HOMA2 method, the severity level of coronary stenosis was assessed by Gensini scoring system, collateral circulation condition was determined by Rentrop classiifcation. 187 IGT patients were divided into 4 groups: Rentrop 0 group,n=55, Rentrop 1 group,n=42, Rentrop 2 group,n=39 and Rentrop 3 group,n=51; in addition, Control group,n=40 patients with normal glucose tolerance and coronary stenosis<50%. Results: Compared with Control group, all patients in 4 Rentrop groups had increased 2h-PBG, HbA1c, HOMA2-IR and Gensini score, while decreased fasting insulin (FINS), allP<0.05. Compared with Rentrop 3 group and Rentrop 2 group, the patients in Rentrop 1 group and Rentrop 0 group had elevated 2h-PBG, HbA1c, HOMA2-IR and Gensini score, while Rentrop 0 group had reduced FINS, allP<0.05. Multivariable regression analysis showed that HOMA2-IR index (R=0.518,P<0.05), HbA1c (R=1.916, P<0.05), 2h-PBG (R=2.130,P<0.05) and FINS (R=1.547,P<0.05) might be related to the severity of coronary stenosis. Binary regression analysis indicated that poor collateral circulation (the patients in Rentrop 0 group and Rentrop 1 group) was related to HOMA2-IR index (OR=1.679, 95% CI 1.101-2.558,P=0.016). Conclusion: HOMA2-IR index could be signiifcantly higher in patients with IGT combining chronic coronary occlusion. IR was the independent risk factor for the severity of coronary stenosis and coronary collateral formation.

Chinese Journal of Lung Cancer 2004;7(2):161-164
BACKGROUNDTo investigate the relationship between micrometastasis of bone marrow and neoadjuvant chemotherapy and prognosis in patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
METHODSSixty-five patients with stage III NSCLC were randomly divided into group A (32 patients treated with preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy plus operation) and group B (33 patients treated with operation and postoperative chemotherapy as control group). Expression of CK19 mRNA and CEA mRNA was detected in bone marrow samples from the rib segments of all patients obtained from operation by RT-PCR. The relationship between survival duration and CK19 and CEA expression was analyzed.
RESULTSThe positive rates of CK19 mRNA expression were 18.8%(6/32) and 45.5%(15/33) in group A and B, respectively (P=0.033), and the positive rates of CEA were 25.0%(8/32) and 51.5% (17/33) in group A and B, respectively (P= 0.041). A significant positive correlation was observed between CK19 and CEA expression (r s=0.671,P < 0.001). The response rates of neoadjuvant chemotherapy were 0%(0/5) and 56.5%(13/23) in patients with CK19(+)/CEA(+) and CK19(-)/CEA(-), respectively (P=0.044), and the median survival duration were 11 and 27 months, respectively (P=0.000 6). Cox's model showed that the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and the expression of CK19 or CEA were significantly prognostic factors in group A.
CONCLUSIONSNeoadjuvant chemotherapy can reduce the possibility of bone marrow micrometastasis in stage III NSCLC patients. Bone marrow micrometastasis may indicate a poorer prognosis for NSCLC.
