Objective To investigate the pathogenesis pathology,CT diagnosis and differential diagnosis of hydranencephaly. Methods CT manifestations and clinical data of 9 cases with hydranencephaly were analysed retrospectively. Results CT findins of 9 cases were almost defects of bilateral cerebral hemisphere and ventricle.Only a little remainder of occipital, frontal and/or temporal lobes were appearence. The structure of subtentorium was normal. Conclusion CT scan directly shows all appearances of hydranencephaly and is great valuable for diagnosing this disease.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Bilevel non -invasive positive air pressure ventila-tion(BiPAP)in the treatment of stable COPD patients with typeⅡrespiratory failure. Methods 36 patients had stable COPD with typeⅡrespiratory failure was treated with BiPAP.And observed the changes of clinical symptoms and arte-rial blood gases before and after the treatment. Results The Blood gas index[(7.28 ±0.04)vs (7.37 ±0.06)], heart rate[(116 ±11)times/min vs (85 ±10)times/min],breath rate[(26 ±4)times/min,(17 ±3)times/min], frequence of hospitalization[(3.50 ±0.89)times vs (0.23 ±0.11)times],and hospital days[(22.3 ±8.8)d vs (11.4 ±4.6)d]significantly changed after treatment(all P <0.01),the symptoms, including the shortness of breath, and chest distress improved greatly, and also the exercise tolerance were much better than patients did before treatment. Conclusion BiPAP is an efficient treatment method, and valuable for stable COPD patients with type Ⅱrespiratory failure.

Objective To discuss microvessel density (MVD) and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), androgen receptor(AR) in the prostates of men who received re-operation after TURP. Methods Fifty cases were performed re-TURP (re-TURP group) and the remaining 50 cases served as controls. 150 specimens were collected. Sections were stained for CD34 and VEGF, AR by immuno-histo-chemistry(S-P). Statistical analysis of the results was performed using t-test or Pearson Chi-Square test Results The expression of VEGF, AR and MVD were significantly higher in the re-TURP group compared to controls(P<0. 05),but in re-TURP group, difference in VEGF and AR expression as well as MVD were not found to be significantly different between the first and the second TURP(P>0.05). Conclusion Over expression of VEGF and AR as well as high MVD in prostatic tissue might play an important role in the pathological process of BPH after TURP.
