Objective To evaluate the optimal dosage of misoprostol administered in the rectum for dilation of the cervix. Methods Two hundred and forty women at 40-60 day gestational age without vaginal delivery history were randomly divided into three groups, with 80 cases in each group. Patients received 200,400 or 600μg of misoprostol rectally one hour before electrical vacuum abortions in group A,B and C,respectively. Cervical dilation, blood loss, and drug side effects in the three groups were compared. Venous blood samples were taken before vein anesthesia, and misoprostol acid concentration in the serum was tested by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results The analgesic rate was 100. 00%in all three dose groups, and cervical dilation rate was 23. 75%,46. 25%and 70. 00%in groups A,B and C,respectively. The severity of drug side effects such as vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain is dose-dependent. Blood concentration of misoprostal acid was(117±65),(206± 98),and(303±149)pg·mL-1 ,in groups A,B and C,respectively. Conclusion The recommended dose of misoprostol is 400 μg administered in rectum. Rectal administration of misoprostol is cheap, safe, and convenient, and therefore could be widely applied.

Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (Medical Sciences) 2009;29(1):64-7
Voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs) are known to be involved in the initiation and progression of many malignancies, and the different subtypes of VGSCs play important roles in the metastasis cascade of many tumors. This study investigated the functional expression of Nav1.5 and its effect on invasion behavior of human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231. The mRNA and protein expression of Nav1.5 was detected by real time PCR, Western Blot and immunofluorescence. The effects of Nav1.5 on cell proliferation, migration and invasion were respectively assessed by MTT and Transwell. The effects of Nav1.5 on the secretion of matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) by MDA-MB-231 were analyzed by RT-PCR. The over-expressed Nav1.5 was present on the membrane of MDA-MB-231 cells. The invasion ability in vitro and the MMP-9 mRNA expression were respectively decreased to (47.82+/-0.53)% and (43.97+/-0.64)% (P<0.05) respectively in MDA-MB-231 cells treated with VGSCs specific inhibitor tetrodotoxin (TTX) by blocking Nav1.5 activity. It was concluded that Nav1.5 functional expression potentiated the invasive behavior of human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231 by increasing the secretion of MMP-9.

Objective To determine the effect of endomorphin (EM) on colonic electromyography activity and investigate the pathogenesis of slow transit constipation (STC). Methods An experimental rat model of slow transit constipation was constructed by contract laxatives mixed with the feed. The changes of colonic electromyography and reaction to endomorphin 1 and endomorphin 2 were examined. Results Compared with the control group, the frequency and amplitude of slow wave in cathartic colon rats were decreased significantly. Endomorphin 1 and endomorphin 2 significantly decreased the amplitudes of slow wave, but did not change the frequencies of slow wave. The effect of endomorphin 1 was more pronounced than that of endomorphin 2, which could be reversed by the morphine antagonist Naloxone in concentration-dependent manner. Endomorphin could not block the stimulating effect of acetylcholine. Conclusions Endomorphin can influence the colonic electromyography activity and intestine motility of cathartic colon rats, and may be involved in the pathologic mechanism of slow transit constipation.

The paper is to systematically evaluate the effect and safety of Shenqi Fuzheng injection (SFI) combined with first-line chemotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on Shenqi Fuzheng injection (SFI) combined with first-line chemotherapy (experiment group) and chemotherapy alone group ( control group) were electronically retrieved from Medline, EMbase, Clinical Trials, Cochrane Library, CBM, CNKI, VIP, and Wanfang Data base. All trials were assessed for quality according to the Cochrane Reviewer's Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Intervention and then Meta-analysis was performed withRevMan5. 2 Software. A total of 43 RCTs (3433 patients) were included after screening and selecting. Results of Meta-analysis showed that: Objective remission rate (ORR): ORR of experimental group was about 20% higher than that of control group [RR = 1.23, 95% CI (1.11,1.35), P < 0.0001]. Disease control rate (DCR):DCR of SFI combined with first-line chemotherapy was 11% higher than that of first-line chemotherapy alone [RR = 1.11, 95% CI (1.07, 1.16), P < 0.000 01]. Life quality evaluated by Kosovan performance status (KPS) showed that: life quality improvement rate of experimental group was about twice of that in control group [RR = 2.02, 95% CI (1.81, 2.26), P < 0.000 01]. Toxic and side reaction analysis showed that: the incidence of side reactions in experimental group was about 50% lower than that in control group [RR = 0.59, 95% CI (0.53, 0.66), P < 0.000 01]. Immune function test showed that: the function of experimental group was 3.2 (standard deviations) times greater than that of control group [MD = 3.23, 95% CI (2.86, 3.60), P < 0.000 01]. We can see that SFI combined with first-line chemotherapy for NSCLC can increase objective efficacy, improve life quality, decrease toxic and side reactionsinduced by chemotherapy, and improve the immune functions. As most of the included studies in this systematic evaluation had poor quality, the evidence to support conclusion was weak, so it was necessary to conduct more multi-center clinical trials with high quality methods and rigorous design.

Herald of Medicine 2015;(3):344-346
Objective To evaluate the effect of neoadjuvant chemotherapy by different arteriovenous ways on ovarian function of patients with locally advanced cervical cancer after surgery. Methods We retrospectively studied 38 cases of young women (surgical age <45 years) who were diagnosed with locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix and undergone radical hysterectomy with ovaries. According to the way of adjuvant chemotherapy, these cases were divided into 20 cases of group A (arterial embolization chemotherapy), 18 cases of group B (intravenous chemotherapy). Each patient underwent a course of chemotherapy. Then we retrospectively analyzed and compared serum estradiol (E2 ), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), lute-inizing hormone (LH) in two groups before and after surgery to assess ovarian function. We compared E2 ,FSH and LH levels 2-3 weeks after chemotherapy (before surgery) and 1 month after surgery, and 6 months after surgery in two groups. Results The E2 levels in group A 1 month before and after surgery significantly decreased, while FSH increased compared with those be-fore chemotherapy(P<0. 05). LH levels in two groups at different time points and 6 months after surgery showed no significant difference (P>0. 05) compared with those before chemotherapy. the E2 , FSH and LH levels in group B at different time points presented no significant difference (P>0. 05). Only E2 level in group A was significantly lower than that in group B before surger-y. Conclusion For patients with locally advanced cervical cancer, the effect of arterial embolization chemotherapy before sur-gical intervention on ovarian function is transient and reversible, while intravenous chemotherapy before surgery exerts few effects on ovarian function. Retaining ovaries in radical hysterectomy is a safe and effective method to protect the endocrine function for young patients with locally advanced cervical cancer.

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(09):-
The rennin angiotensin system has been recognized for many years as a key regulator in systemic blood pressure and the metabolism of water and salt. Angiotensin converting enzyme 2(ACE2) is the first human homolog of angiotensin converting enzyme which efficiently hydrolyze the angiotensin Ⅱ to vasodilator angiotensin 1-7.ACE2 is now implicated in cardiovascular, renal, lung disease and serves as a receptor for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus.
