Livedoid vasculitis is a kind of skin disease caused by local vascular occlusion.It mainly manifests as erythematous and purpuric maculas or papules on the legs and ankles,which may progress into intensely painful ulcers and heal leaving porcelain-white atrophic scars called atrophie blanche.Histopathologically,inflammatory response is weak or absent in local lesions of livedoid vasculitis,hence,it is commonly considered to be related to local thrombosis and other autoimmune diseases.Now,it is mainly managed with anticoagulation-based comprehensive treatment in clinic.

Objective To observe the effect of high glucose on the expression of activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4) in cultured retinal Müller glia cells.Methods The retinal tissue of Sprague Dawley (SD) rats was collected,and Müller cells were isolated and cultured.The glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and glutamine synthetase (GS) of Müller cells were identified by streptavidin-biotinperoxidase complex.Cultured rat Müller cells were divided into control group (5.5 mmol/L glucose),group A (20 mmol/L glucose),group B (30 mmol/L glucose) and group C (40 mmol/L glucose).ATF4 protein expressions in Müller cells of four groups were measured by Western blot four days after cultured.Results GFAP and GS expressed in more than 95％ of Müller cells.Over 95％ of Müller cells of group A,B and C were positive for GFAP and GS.Western blots indicated that ATF4 protein in group A,B and C increased obviously compared with the control group (q=0.293,0.754,0.484; P＜0.05).Conclusion High glucose can increase the expression of ATF4 protein and cause endoplasmic reticulum stress in retinal Müller glia cells in vitro.

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of bandage contact lens on patients after the pterygium excision surgery.Methods 200 patients with pterygium excision were used retrospectively analysis and were divided into control group and observation group by random digital table method.Patients in observation group wore bandage contact lens while those in control group did not (traditional method).The degree of pain in both groups was evaluated at 8 hours,24 hours and 48 hours after surgery.In addition,patients were surveyed for the satisfaction of our treatment when discharge.Results The ocular foreign body sensation,eye burning,tears and eye open difficult were obviously decreased in observation group (t=5.643,10.315,P ＜ 0.01).The overall comfort level of the patients in observation group was obviously improved.pain feeling of the eye after surgery in 8h,24h and 48h markedly decreased in observation group (t=6.196-12.495,P ＜ 0.01).The degree of satisfaction scores of preoperative guidancein,postoperative pain control,emotion,mental nursing,self-care ability,comfort in observation group were (1.59-0.62) points,(1.83±0.70) points,(1.42±0.68) points,(1.42±0.68) points,(1.48±0.67) points,(1.29±0.77) points,(1.43-0.64)points which were obviously increased than (0.76±0.55) points,(0.83±0.64points,(0.82±0.56) points,(0.80±0.47) points,(0.79±0.61) points,(0.66±0.54) points (t=4.311-9.354,all P＜ 0.01).Conclusions Compared with traditional treatment,bandage contact lens can significantly reduce the discomforts after the pterygium excision surgery,and increase the postoperative comforts of patients.It proves that bandage contact lens have extensive clinical value.

[Summary] Glucagon-like peptide-1 ( GLP-1 ) agents play important roles in glycemic control in type 2 diabetes. Moreover, these agents also show various protective effects on cardiovascular system. GLP-1 agents improve vascular endothelial function, ameliorate the risk factors of cardiovascular disease including obesity, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia and hypertension, delay the occurrence and progression of atherosclerosis, and protect against cardiac ischemia-reperfusion injury and heart failure. Therefore, GLP-1 agents may have beneficial effects on cardiovascular diseases at different stages and in multiple aspects.

Objective To investigate the role of Gly82Ser polymorphism of receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE) in the genesis and progression of colon cancer in Chinese population.Methods Using the method of PCR-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP),the Gly82Ser genotype of RAGE were examined in 90 colon cancer patients and 78 control subjects age and sex matched.Analyses stratified by TNM and tumor differentiation were conducted to check the associations of the Gly82Ser gene polymorphisms in RAGE and development of colon cancer.Results The genotype distribution was in agreement with that predicted under Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium for both patients and controls (both P ＞ 0.05).With the GG genotype as reference,the odds ratio (OR) for heterozygous GG and carriers with S allele (GS and SS) were 2.037 (95％ CI:1.207-3.438) and 2.022 (95％ CI:1.275-3.208),respectively,which had a significantly higher risk of colon cancer.Moreover,the elevated colon cancer risk was especially evident in patients with TNM (Ⅲ + Ⅳ) and/or patients with poor differentiation by stratification analysis (OR,3.575,95％ CI:1.495-8.550 and OR,3.580,95％ CI:1.390-9.217,respectively).Conclusions The RAGE Gly82Ser polymorphism may confer not only an increased risk of colon cancer but also with invasion of colon cancer in the Chinese population.
