1.Association between epicardial adipose tissue thickness and left ventricular remodeling in dilated cardiomyopathy

Objective To explore the association between epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) thickness and left ventricular remodeling,left ventricular dysfunction in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).Methods One hundred and sixteen patients with DCM (DCM group) and 76 healthy subjects (control group) were examined by ultrasoundcardiogram.Left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic volume (LVESV),left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume index (LVESVI),left ventficular end-diastolic volume index (LVEDVI),left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and EAT thickness were measured or calculated,and the relationship was evaluated.Results EAT thickness in DCM group was significantly lower than that in control group [(4.7 ± 1.2) mm vs.(7.6 ± 2.1) mm],and there was statistical difference (P < 0.05).The linear correlation analysis results showed there was positive correlation between EAT thickness and LVESD,LVEDD,LVESV,LVEDV,LVEDVI,LVESVI (r =0.236,0.220,0.245,0.256,0.282,0.279,P < 0.05),and there was no relationship between EAT thickness and LVEF (r =0.134,P >0.05).Conclusions In patients with DCM,there is a correlation between EAT thickness and ventricular remodeling.There is no correlation between EAT thickness and left ventricular dysfunction.
2.Culture,purification and differentiation in vitro of human retinal progenitors

Objective To study the expansion and purification of human retinal progenitors cultured in vitro.(Methods Human) embryonic retinal progenitor cells(RPCs) were cultured.The characteristics of neural stem cell were observed.The expression of Nestin was examined flow cytometry(FCM) for the comparsion between the primary and secondary passages.The differentiation of RPCs had been observed after that they had been cultured in different conditions.Results Human RPCs had proliferated and formed cell clusters with a shape of neurosphere.After digestion,the scattered progenitors formed secondary neurosphere-like cell clusters.The cells in those clusters expressed Nestin and were negative for the mature retinal cell proteins.After spontaneous differentiation,the retinal progenitors expressed special proteins of mature retinal cells,including neuron specific enolase(NSE),glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP),protein kinase C(PKC) and Syntaxin-1.The expression of Nestin in the secondary culture passage was(39.3?18.9)%,which was significantly higher than that of the primary passage [(28.7?17.7)%](P

Objective To study the protective effect of Qidan Tongmai Tablet (QDTMT) on the (injury) induced by acute myocardial ischemia. 5.Research progress of the protection strategies of female fertility in radiotherapy

Radiotherapy is an important treatment for malignant tumors, but it will have a negative impact on the reproductive function of young female patients.In recent years, the measures to protect female fertility are increasing, including clinical mature technologies such as embryo cryopreservation and mature oocyte cryopreservation; highly experimental technologies such as immature oocyte in vitro fertilization and ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation.In addition, the application of stem cells and the proposal of artificial ovary also show great prospects in the protection of female fertility.This paper reviews the research progress of female fertility protection strategies in radiotherapy.
6.Hepatoblastomas in childhood:a clinicopathologic analysis of 58 cases

Purpose To study the morphological features, immunohistochemical phenotype, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of hep-atoblastoma in children. Methods The pathologic data of 58 child patients with hepatoblastoma were enrolled in this study, and histo-logical classification with distinct clinical associations were used. Prognostic data were also collected. Results Pure epithelial type was 33 cases, pure fetal type 18 cases, including 8 cases of low mitotic activity type, 9 cases of high mitotic activity, and 1 case of fo-cal pleomorphic type. 11 cases were embryonal type, 3 small undifferentiated type and 1 transitional liver cell tumor. All the 25 cases of mixed epithelial and mesenchymal type were without teratoid features, including fetal epithelial and mesenchymal type (6 cases), embryonal epithelial and mesenchymal type (17 cases), transitional liver cell tumor and mesenchymal type (2 cases). Follow-up data were available in 14 cases, in which 12 cases were sensitive to chemotherapy. Conclusions Pathologic type of hepatoblastoma rely mainly on the histology, which has a certain clinical prognostic significance. The stage of the tumor and the histopathologic type are two key prognostic factors in determining the survival of children with hepatoblastoma.
7.Preliminary study on the pharmacognosy and toxicology of Mallotus panicutus (lam) Muell.Arg

Objective To identify Mallotus panicutus (lam) Muell.Arg and explore the acute toxicity.Methods Pharmacognostic identification and chemical reaction methods were adopted to the identification.The maximum concentration and maximum volume of ethanol extracts of M.panicutus (lam) Muell.Arg were given via intragastric administration in mice to observe the toxic and side effects after 14 days.Results The chemical reaction showed M.panicutus(lam) Muell.Arg concluded the constituents such as flavone and saponin and there was no acute toxicity in mice.After 14 days,the growth rate of mice weight of blank group and drug group were 73.5% and 62.9% (P > 0.05).Conclusion The results could be taken as the reference for analyzing the quality of this drug and guiding the clinical medication.
8.Clinical outcomes of C3F8 and air tamponade after vitrectomy for the treatment of idiopathic macular hole

Objective To compare the clinical effect of C3F8 and air tamponade after vitrectomy for the treatment of idiopathic macular hole (IMH).Methods A total of 54 eyes of 54 patients with IMH that had undergone 23G pars plana vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling were retrospectively studied.All patients received optical coherence tomography ()CT) examination and the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA).They were divided into 2 groups.26 eyes in group A were filled with air and 28 eyes in group B were filled with C3F8.In group A,6 eyes at stage Ⅱ,20 eyes at stage Ⅲ,the minimum diameter (Dmin) of macular hole in 14 eyes was less than 400 μm,and in the other eyes was larger than 400 μm.In group B,10 eyes at stage Ⅱ,18 eyes at stage Ⅲ,the Dmin of macular hole in 15 eyes was less than 400 μm,and in the other eyes was larger than 400 μm.The differences of age,course of the disease,BCVA,fundus diameter,Dmin,height,index,diameter of outer retina diameter (Dord) between the two groups were not significant (P>0.05).The basic data before surgery and the closure rate,BCVA,Dord 1 month after surgery between two groups were compared.Results At 1 month after surgery,the IMH closure rate was 100.0% in group A and 92.9% in group B,the difference between these two groups was not significant (P=0.491).The closure rate of eyes with Dmin<400 μm were both 100.0% in two groups,and the closure rate of eyes with Dmin>400 μm were 100.0% in group A and 84.6% in group B.There was no statistically significant differences between two groups (P =0.480).The mean BCVA of two groups were 0.35±0.22 and 0.33 ±0.16 respectively.The mean Dord were (782.2 ± 478.0) μm and(792.1 ± 432.7) μm respectively.All cases got better BCVA (t=-7.310,-10.506;P<0.01) and shorter Dord (t=6.704,7.770;P<0.01).But there was no statistically significant differences between groups 1 month after surgery in BCVA and Dord (t =0.381,0.800;P =0.705,0.937).Conclusion Air tamponade after vitrectomy has the same efficacy as C3 F8 tamponade in the treatment of IMH.
9.Paying attention to the research on IgG4 related orbital disease

IgG4 related disease (IgG4-RD) is a systemic disease which was named and accepted in recent years.IgG4-RD is a multiorgan-involved disease, mainly including pancrease, parotid gland, bile duct, liver, etc.The study on the relationship between IgG4 and orbital disease is relatively few.In recent years, our study group aimed directly to the relationship between IgG4 and common orbital disease, including benign lymphoepithelial lesion of lacrimal gland,idiopathic orbital inflammatory pseudotumor, orbital lymphoma, etc.We found that IgG4 was associated with the pathogenesis and progression of these diseases.This article addressed systematically the pathogenesis of IgG4 related orbital disease and evaluated the values of IgG4 in diagnosis,differential diagnosis,treatment and montoring of these orbital diseases based on related literature and reseaching results from our study group,in order to deepen the recognition of IgG4 related orbital diseases in ophthalmologists.
