Purpose:To study the apoptosis and proliferation in ovarian cancer and the relationship between gene and the histological grading as well as response to chemotherapy. Methods:In our study apoptosis in fifty fresh samples of epithelial ovarian carcinomas were evaluated by TDT (terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase) assay. We used the techniques of immunohistochemistry to detect the proliferation and the protein expression of bcl-2,bax and p53 gene.Results:In 66% (30/50) samples of fresh epithelial ovarian carcinoma apoptosis was observed in different degrees. BACKGROUND: With good biocompatibility, osteoconduction and biodegradability, calcium phosphate ceramics is considered as a substitute of autologous bone; furthermore, it also has the potentiel of osteoinduction after structure optimization. OBJECTIVE: To review the physicochemical properties of calcium phosphate ceramic and its osteoinduction. METHODS: A computer-based search of databases such as PubMed, Springer, ResearchGate and Baidu Academic was performed for articles relevant to calcium phosphate ceramics published from January 2000 to October 2015. And the keywords were “calcium phosphate, osteoinduction, tissue engineering, scaffolds” in English. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: To date, there are four ideal kinds of calcium phosphate materials including hydroxyapatite, tricalcium phosphate, amorphous calcium phosphate and hydroxyapatite/tricalcium phosphate biphasic ceramic material. Hydroxyapatite has better strength and cel adsorption capacity, but has poor biodegradation. Tricalcium phosphate has good abilities of osteogenesis and degradation, but its degradation rate is hard to match the new bone formation,and its strength is also relatively poor. Amorphous calcium phosphate has neither strength nor solubility. In contrast, biphasic calcium phosphate ceramics has moderate degradation rate between hydroxyapatite and tricalcium phosphate, and therefore, it either can be replaced by autologous bone after degradation or exhibits proper strength. While how to further improve the physical properties and promote osteogenesis stil need much deeper research.

Aim To evaluate the antitumor activity of ruthenium polypyridyl complexes and the underlying mechanism. Methods The right complexes 2b were filtered with highest activity and lowest toxicity by MTT assay. The change of cell cycle was detected by flow cytometry . The expression of p53 and p21 was detected by Western blot. The in vivo antitumor activity of 2b was evaluated by the assay of tumor bearing nude mice. Results 2b potentially inhibited proliferation of a variety of hepatoma cell lines, among which Hep 3B cell was the most significant ( IC50 was 12. 1 μmol · L-1 ) . The apoptosis of Hep 3 B cell was induced by 2b, as evidenced by DNA fragmentation, chromatin condensation and appearance of subG1 peak. The ac-tivities of caspase-9 and caspase-3 were activated by 2b. The phosphorylation of p53 was induced by 2b. The expression of p53 and p21 was also up-regulated by 2b. The growth of tumor of nude mice was signifi-cantly inhibited by 2b in vivo experiment. Conclusion 2b has good in vitro and vivo antitumor activities, and it can inhibite growth of Hep 3 B cells by inducing apoptosis.

Objective To summarize the experience of operation on gastric carcinoma combined with severe pulmonary dysfunction and reduce the incidence of postoperative fatality and complications.Methods According to FVC,MVV,FEV1 from high to low grouping,and interfere with ambroxol hydrochloride,doxofylline,budesonide,terbutaline,ipratropium bromide,tiotropium bromide to 20 patients who suffered gastric carcinoma combined with severe pulmonary dysfunction before and after operation,and interfere with different anesthesia methods.Results Postoperative complications occurred in 20 patients within one month,Hydrothorax in 2 cases,pulmonary infection in 2 cases,respiratory failure in 2 cases,acute pulmonary edema in 1 cases,acute pulmonary embolism in 1 case.After active treatment,19 patients cured,1 case died due to acute pulmonary edema.Conclusion The complications rate and risks are high in the gastric carcinoma patients combined with severe pulmonary dysfunction,and strict preoperative and postoperative managements are key to the operation.

Objective To investigate the relationship of serum uric acid level to the risk of coronary artery disease in young adults.Methods One hundred and fifty six young adults(≤45 years) hospitalized in Peking University First Hosipital during January 2005 to April 2008 were divided into coronary heart disease(CHD) group(96 cases) and control group(60 cases),according to coronary angiography.The CHD group was then sub-divided into 3 groups: single-vessel group(n=55),double-vessel group(n=21) and multi-vessel group(n=20).The relationship of serum uric acid level to the risk of CHD was analyzed.Results The serum uric acid level in CHD group was higher than that in control group(347.3?77.8 ?mol/L vs 306.1?76.6 ?mol/L,P

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of locking compression plate (LCP) in treatment of comminuted fractures of distal end of radius. Methods A retrospective analysis of the clinical data was done for the 24 patients with comminuted fracture of distal end of radius who had been treated by locking compression plate fixation from August 2002 to August 2003. Results The follow up duration averaged 7.8 months. The satisfactory rate of functional outcome with LCP fixation was 91.6 percent. Conclusion Although LCP can provide the outstanding stability theoretically, it has not resulted in more exciting outcomes in treatment of comminuted fractures of distal end of radius than traditional methods.

Post-stroke fatigue is a common symptom after stroke independent of depression. It impacts functional recovery of limbs, psychological rehabilitation and quality of life, and has been linked w ith a higher mortality rate. Identifing the risk factors of post -stroke fatigue and clarifying the diagnosis and conducting effective intervention may contribute to the early rehabilitation. This article review s the advances in research on the incidence, risk factors, mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of post -stroke fatigue.

Objective To explore the value of procalcitonin (PCT) in diagnosis and treatment of neonatal ventilator associated pneumonia(VAP).Methods Sixty neonates needed invasive mechanical ventilation admitted to our NICU from Jan 2012 to Dec 2013 were divided into VAP group (30 cases) and nonVAP group (30 cases),depending on whether the neonates developed to VAP or not in 7 days.The VAP group then was randomly divided into PCT group (15 cases) and control group(15 cases) according to random number table.The levels of serum PCT,C-reactive protein(CRP) and WBC count were detected when the neonates suspected VAP before and after mechanical ventilation.Besides,the sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive values for PCT,CRP and WBC were calculated in the diagnosis of VAP.Results The serum levels of PCT in VAP group had significant difference before and after mechanical ventilation (t =1.58,P =0.000),the levels of PCT were (0.37 ± 0.25) μg/L and (2.17 ± 1.46) μg/L respectively.The levels of PCT in non-VAP group had no significant difference (t =3.67,P =0.055).The levels of CRP and WBC showed no significant differences between VAP and non-VAP group before mechanical ventilation (P ＞ 0.05).Taking PCT ≥0.40 μg/L,CRP≥ 28 mg/L and WBC ≥ 10 × 109/L as the cut off value,the sensitivity of the three indicators diagnosis of VAP were 93.3％,73.3％ and 66.7％ respectively.PCT had the highest sensitivity 93.3 ％,specificity 73.3％,positive predictive 77.8％ and negative predictive 91.7％.The antibiotic duration of PCT group was (12.6 ± 5.6) d compared with (15.1 ± 9.1) d in control group (P =0.018).Conclusion Serum PCT has high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of VAP,PCT combined with clinical pulmonary infection score can improve the diagnostic accuracy of VAP,early diagnosis and timely monitoring of serum PCT is helpful in VAP.PCT guidance substantially reduces antibiotic use in VAP,so that timely surveillance of PCT is necessary for patients on ventilator.

Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of 64-channel multislice spiral computed tomography(MSCT) in subjects with presentations suggestive of stable angina or acute coronary syndrome. Methods: Subjects received both 64-channel MSCT and coronary angiography, from Feb. 2006 to Feb. 2007, were enrolled for retrospective analyses. Results of the quantitative coronary angiography were used as the "Golden criteria", accuracy of 64-channel MSCT were evaluated in the overall sample, as well as in subjects suspected of stable angina and acute coronary syndrome. Results: A total of 120 subjects were enrolled in the analyses. On the patient level, the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of 64-channel MSCT in detecting significant stenoses were 92.5%, 50%, and 87.5%, respectively. The overall ROC area under curve was 0.71. On the artery level, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and ROC area under curve of 64-channel MSCT were 69.9%, 83.8%, 81.1%, 73.7%, and 0.77, respectively. Further analyses showed the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and ROC area under curve of 64-channel MSCT in subjects presenting as stable angina and in subjects presenting as acute coronary syndrome were as follows: 70.2% vs 69.2%, 76.2% vs 86.0%, 74.7% vs 85.6%, 71.9% vs 69.9%, and 0.73 vs 0.78. Conclusion: The accuracy rates of 64-chanel MSCT in subjects presenting as stable angina and in subjects presenting as acute coronary syndrome were similar.

Training of ecological ethics awareness based on the professional education for medical students refers to the training which takes the education of medical profession as a breakthrough point,infiltrates ecological concepts to doctors,cultivates medical students with ecological ethics awareness in order to meet the needs of modern medical model development to ensure the spiritual maturation of medical students and achieve the desire of eco-ethics education.In terms of specific implementations,classroom lectures should be taken as the entry point,social practice as the ecological extension,and meanwhile the overall quality of teachers be improved to provide solid guarantee for the cultivation of medical students.
