Objective To study the dynamic changes of posttraumatic focal brain edema. Methods 120 patients who underwent multiple CT scans after head injury with hematoma or brain contusion in our hospital from 1998 to 2002 were enrolled in this study. Their CT image parameters and clinical data were recorded, and statistically analyzed. Results 96.7%(116/120) patients had perihematoma or pericontusion edema. Edema appeared 7 hours after head injury and reached its climax at the ninth day. Edema shape trended taper during its development, and cortex escaped from edema. Conclusion Focal brain edema was very common in the patient with head injury. Taper shape's formation and escape of cortex may mainly attribute to the difference in construction topology and blood supply between cerebral white and gray matter.

Anhedonia, or markedly diminished interest or pleas-ure, is a hallmark symptom of depression.As a psychopathological symptom, anhedonia was first noted in the early 19th century.The neurobiological mechanisms that underline anhedonia and its role in diagnosing depression disorder or evaluating antidepressant response have long been aroused attention for nearly a century.Consequently, there are many measuring methods established in both the animal study and human research, which would be reviewed in the present study.

Nesfatin-1, discovered in 2006 by Oh-I as an 82-ami-no-acid peptide derived from the precursor protein nucleobindin2 (NUCB2), has been identified to play an important role in the regulation of food intake and energy metabolism. Recently, it has also been found that Nesfatin-1 might be associated with the pathogenesis of depression. This article reviewed the advances in related studies on Nesfatin-1 at home and abroad, which should throw light in expliciting the physiological function of Nesfatin-1 and understanding the neurobiological mechanism of depression.

To evaluate the role of color Doppler flow imaging in the portal vein chemotherapy by ultrasound guided percutaneous transhepatic portal injection, the blood supply of liver tumor and portal hemodynamics were studied in 15 patients with primary hepatic carcinoma and one patient with secondary hepatic carcinoma. The continuous wave in the lesion and forward continuous wave in the portal vein seen by pulsed Doppler in nine cases, were indications for this therapeutic method. The distribution of the drugs in the liver could be observed by color Doppler flow imaging when injection was being done. The therapeutic efficacy of portal vein chemotherapy in liver tumor may be evaluated by color Doppler folw imaging and puncture biopsy.

Objective To investigate the release pattern of insulin after the load of glucose in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome ( PCOS ) and normal oral glucose tolerance.Methods Sixty-three patients with PCOS were undertaken oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and insulin release test,while 34 women with normal menstrual cycle served as control.Results Among 63 patients with PCOS,33 cases were obese with body mass index over 25 kg/m2,including 5 with abnormal OGTT.All 30 non-obese patients with PCOS had normal OGTT.The prevalences of insulin resistance were 78.8％,16.7％,and 9.0％ in obese PCOS,non-obese PCOS,and control groups,respectively.Abnormal insulin release curve were found in 84.5％,70.0％,and 14.7％ of subjects in these 3 groups,respectively.In 58 PCOS patients with normal OGTT,the prevalence of insulin resistance was 44.8％,and 75.9％with abnormal insulin release curve. Among them,body mass index of 32 patients,whose homeostasis model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and fasting insulin remained in normal range,was similar to those of control group [ ( 20.52 ± 2.86 vs 20.01 ± 2.54 ) kg/m2,P＞0.05].Conclusion These findings indicate that insulin release test is useful in detecting insulin resistance.Insulin release is elevated in PCOS patients even with normal OGTT.

Objective To evaluate the effect of inpatient early palliative care (EPC) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients receiving concurrent radiochemotherapy. Methods Totally 130 NPC patients were divided into the experimental group (64 cases) and the control group (66 cases) according to random digit table. Both groups received routine nursing and anti-cancer therapy, in addition, the experimental group received inpatient EPC. Psychological pain, myelosuppression and hospitalization expenses were compared between two groups. Results After the inpatient EPC intervention, the Distress Thermometer (DT) scores of the control group vs. the experimental group was 3.53±1.45 vs. 4.32±1.29, the scores of quality of life was 86.03±6.24 vs. 101.7±8.82, the incidence of myelosuppression was 95.45% (63/66) vs. 56.25%(36/64), and the hospitalization expenses of the patients was 110 862.82±4 849.58 vs 105 047.75±2 751.41 yuan, there were significant differences between the two groups (t=3.274,-11.665, Z=-6.701, t=8.441, P<0.01 or 0.05). Conclusions Inpatient EPC can be effective in reducing psychological distress, myelosuppression and the hospitalization expenses as well as improving the quality of life in NPC patients receiving concurrent chemoradiotherapy.

Objective To separate the CD133 + subpopulation in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and investigate the tumorigenicity.Methods The human liver cancer tissues were subcutaneously transplanted into nude mice to generate xenograft tumors which were then isolated to prepare single cell suspension.The expression of CD133 + subpopulation was further detected using flow cytometry.The CD133 + subpopulations were separated and depurated with magnetic-activated cell sorting system.Immunofluorescence was performed to identify the histological phenotype of CD133 + subpopulation.The in vitro and in vivo clone formation assay and in vivo xenograft formation assay were performed, respectively.Results Flow cytometry analysis revealed that a percentage of (4.1 ± 0.6) ％ CD133 + cells were detected in xenografts.Immunofluorescence studies showed that (86.8 ± 7.5) ％ of the isolated cells were CD133 +.Compared with CD133-population, CD133 + cells showed a higher capability to generate clone sphere in vitro and a higher tumorigenicity in nude mice (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The CD133 + subpopulation in human hepatocellular carcinoma had a potent tumorigenicity and was enriched in cancer stem cells.

Aim To explore the proteomics mechanism of the differentiation induction effect of 4-amino-2-trif-luoromethyl-phenyl retinate(ATPR)on human leukemi-a K562 cells. Methods Human leukemia K562 cells were incubated with the same concentration (1 × 10 - 6 mol·L - 1 ) of ATPR or ATRA for 48 hours. The total cell proteins were collected, purified and digested by trypsin, solid phase extraction, and the peptides were detected by ESI-LC-MS / MS. The difference of the pro-tein expression between the cells treated with ATPR and ATRA was compared by using the Discoverer Pro-teome 1. 2 software, and the molecular function, the biological process and other information of those pro-teins were analyzed based on the DAVID, KEGG, STRING databases. Results 120 specific proteins were identified only in the ATPR group, 143 only in the ATRA group, and 422 other proteins in both groups. Results of DAVID analysis showed that ATPR-induced specific proteins were mainly involved in 39 biological processes of proteins and macromolecules metabolism, protein transport and localization and so on. Results of KEGG analysis revealed that ATPR-in-duced proteins participated in signal pathways, mainly metabolic pathways, PI3K-Akt signal pathway, TGF-beta signal pathway and other pathways in cancer. String protein interaction network analysis displayed that ATPR-induced proteins, like EIF3A, EIF6, RPL3, RPL8, RPL13, RPL7A, RPL21, RPS3, RPS14, NACA, BTF3, NHP2L1, PPP2CA proteins had direct interactions with more than or equal to 10 associated proteins. Conclusion The differentiation induction effect of ATPR on K562 cells might be as-cribed to the ATPR-induced proteins interaction net-work and the specific central proteins it induced, which are involved in the regulation of cell prolifera-tion, differentiation and apoptosis.

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of nedaplatin and cisplatin combined with docetaxel in the treatment of cervical cancer.Methods 80 patients with cervical cancer were selected as the research subjects.According to different chemotherapy regimens,they were divided into observation group(40 cases)and control group(40 cases).The observation group adopted nedaplatin combined with docetaxel chemotherapy regimen,while the control group used cisplatin plus docetaxel chemotherapy regimens.The clinical curative effect,adverse reaction of chemotherapy,hospitalization related indicators,etc were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 85.0%,which of the control group was 77.5%,the difference was not statistically significant(x2=0.739,P=0.739).The incidence rate of gastrointestinal reaction(Ⅰ-Ⅳ)in the observation group was 25.0%,which was lower than 82.5% in the control group(x2=26.560,P=0.000).The incidence rate of renal toxicity(grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ)of the observation group was 2.5%,which was lower than 17.5% of the control group(x2=5.000,P=0.025).The length of hospital stay of the observation group was(2.93 ±0.39)days,which was shorter than(4.97 ±0.81)days of the control group(t=14.352,P=0.000).The incidence rate of bone marrow inhibition(grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ)of the observation group was 43.0%,which was significantly higher than 25.0% of the control group(x2=4.381,P=0.036).1 year overall survival(OS),no local recurrence rate(LRF)and no distant metastasis survival rate(DMF)between the two groups had no statistically significant differences(all P>0.05).Conclusion Efficacy of nedaplatin or cisplatin combined with docetaxel in adjuvant chemotherapy of cervical cancer has similar prognosis,nedaplatin has less toxicity,and can shorten the time of hospitalization,patients are more likely to accept,it is worthy of clinical promotion.

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of endoscopic sinus surgery in the treatment of sinusitis and nasal polyps and its effect on nasal ventilation and olfactory function.Methods:80 patients with sinusitis and nasal polyps were selected in our hospital from January 2014 to June 2016,who were randomly divided into observation group and control group,each group of 40 cases.The control group was treated with traditional enucleation,while the observation group was treated with endoscopic sinus surgery.The clinical efficacy,the symptom scores,nasal airway resistance and olfactory function score before treatment and 3 months after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.00％,which was significantly higher than that of the control group 77.50％ (P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in nasal congestion,purulent nasal discharge,olfactory dysfunction,pain and total symptom score between the two groups before treatment (P＞0.05),nasal congestion,purulent nasal discharge,olfactory dysfunction,pain and total symptom score between the two groups at 3 months after treatment were lower than before treatment,and nasal pus,smell disorder,pain and total symptom scores of the patients in the observation group were lower than the control group (P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in nasal airway resistance and olfactory function score between the two groups before treatment and 3 months after treatment (P＞0.05),nasal airway resistance,olfactory function score of patients in two groups at 3 months after treatment were lower than before treatment,and the observation group was lower than that ofthe control group (P＜0.05).Conclusion:Endoscopic sinus surgery for sinusitis and nasal polyps is helpful to improve the clinical symptoms,promote the olfactory function and recovery of nasal ventilation,which is an effective method for treatment of sinusitis and nasal polyps.
