1.Research Progress,Bottlenecks and Strategies in the Plant Bioreactor
China Biotechnology 2006;0(05):-
Past decade, plants as production systems for recombinant proteins has been actively investigated, and is one of the most active research fields in life sciences. Plants are attractive as protein factories because they with advantages of cost, scale, and safety, and emerge capability to produce pharmaceutical production with bioactivity proved by previously studies. The plant-made pharmaceuticals possess enormous viability for market and wide prospects for application. Based on those reasons, the rise of plant bioreactor was reviewed, and research advance on the expression systems and plant-made recombinant proteins was introduced. Bottleneck problems and adopted strategies using plant system to produce recombinant proteins and research hotspot in the near future were summarized, and prospect of plant bioreactor in future was described. Synchronously, some opinions including research progress of plant bioreactor, differences to foreign and strategies in the future were discussed.

ObjectiveA survey of the status quo of community nursing health resources in Shao xing countryside was carry out in order to rationally allocate medical resource, optimize quality of medical employees and construct modern rural community nursing patterns.MethodsA survey for 19 health service organizations and 381 nurses in rural communities was carried out with questionnaires. Results There existed regional differences in medical resources. The medical resources per ten thousand people were limited, only 0.7 health education room,1.2 recovery rooms,0.4 women and children′s health center. There was 1 nurse for every 1877 rural residents. The average age of nurses was (30.84±6.88) years old.Nurses on professional health education, community arevention of diseases only accountel for 43.8%.Community nuses of different ages and with different degrees had different knowledge requirements.ConclusionsThe medical resources are limited and imbalanced. The employees are too young and they have only low level of education and are not professional enough.Rational allocation of resources, optimization of personnel structure and abundance of on-the-job training is urgently needed.

Clinical Medicine of China 2011;27(5):515-518
Objective To compare the effect of compression hollow screw fixation, artificial femoral head replacement and total hip replacement in the elderly. Methods From August 2007 to April 2009,152 cases of femoral neck fracture in the elderly were divided into three groups: compression hollow screw fixation group(54 patients,24 males, with an average age of 59.8±5.3 years);artificial femoral head replacement group(48 patients,16 males, with an average age of 65.3±6.7 years);and total hip replacement group(50 patients,18 males, with an average age of 77.3±6.5 years). The evaluation indicators, including the average sugical time, the average amount of bleeding, the average length of stay and the average postopererative bed time, were compared respectively among the three groups. The postoperative evaluation was made according to Harris Score. Results Harris score in the three groups were 21 excellent and 23 good in the compression hollow screw fixation group, with an average score of 80.52±2.70;26 excellent and 14 good in the artificial femoral head replacement group, with an average score of 86.57±1.90;and 42 excellent and 3 good in the total hip replacement group, with an average score of 96.04±2.10.The total hip replacement group was significantly better than the other two groups(H=0.589,F=12.151,Ps<0.05).The rate of postoperative complications were 25.93%(14/54) in the compression hollow screw fixation group,18.75%(9/48) in the artificial femoral head replacement group and 4.00%(2/50) in the total hip replacement group(H=1.291,P<0.05).Conclusion Compared among the three surgery, total hip replacement could resume function and improve the quality of life better, with lower rate of complications. However, the surgical injury and the amount of bleeding were largest. Therefore,we suggest selecting appropriate surgery with considering the patient′s age, physical condition, displacement degree of the fracture,et al.in old femoral neck fractures patients.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2010;37(6):309-312
Objective: To investigate the roles of Bcl-xl and Bcl-xs in the development and progression of endometrial carcinoma, and to explore their correlation. Methods: The expression of Bcl-xl and Bcl-xs in 32 cases of endometrial carci-noma, 12 cases of endometrial atypical hyperplasia, 6 cases of endometrial simple hyperplasia and 10 cases of normal en-dometrial tissues were examined by RT-PCR and Western-blot.Results: The expression of Bcl-xl mRNA and protein was significantly higher in endometrial cancer tissues than in normal endometrial tissues (P<0.05), and was statistically associat-ed with the pathological stage of endometrial carcinoma.(F=5.33, P=0.02).The expression of Bcl-xs mRNA and protein in atypical endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial carcinoma tissues were significantlly lower than that in normal endometri-al tissues (P<0.05), which was also associated with clinical stage and lymph node metastasis of endometrial carcinoma (P<0.05).The expression of Bcl-xl was negatively correlated with the expression of Bcl-xs in different endometrial tissues (r=-0.76).Conclusion: The abnormal expression of Bcl-xs and Bcl-xl was a factor for the pathogenesis and development of endometrial carcinoma. The negative correlation between Bcl-xl and Bcl-xs in different endometrial tissues as well as their relative expression ratio may have certain impact on the genesis of endornetrial cancer.

Objective:To explore the changes of NK and NKT cells and the expression levels of their activated, inhibitory receptors in the peripheral blood of patients with newly diagnosed rheumatoid arthritis ( RA), and to reveal the potiential role of NK and NKT cells played in the pathogenesis of RA.Methods:32 patients with new onset RA and 15 healthy controls were recruited.Activated and inhibitory NK and NKT cells in peripheral blood were quantified by flow cytometry. The frequency of spontaneous and stimulated IFN-γ+NK and NKT cells and CD107aγ+NK cells were examined. Finally, the potential relationship between the frequency of NK and NKT cells subsets and clinical indexes were analyzed. Results:The frequencies of NK cells in peripheral blood in RA patients were sig-nificantly lower than those in the controls ( P=0.026 ).The frequencies of NKG2D+, NKP46+activated NK cells and NKG2C+, NKG2D+,NKP46+activated NKT cells in RA patients were significantly higher than those in the controls (P=0.011,P=0.010,and P<0.001,P=0.032,P=0.001,respectively),whereas the frequencies of KIR2DL3+,KIR3DL1+and NKG2A+inhibitory NK cells and KIR2DL3+,NKG2A+inhibitory NKT cells in RA patients were significantly lower (P=0.002,P=0.002,P=0.014,and P=0.027,P=0.002,respectively).Moreover, the frequencies of stimulated IFN-γ+NK cells and IFN-γ+NKT cells, spontaneous and stimulated CD107 aγ+NK cells in RA patients were significantly higher than that in the controls ( P=0.037, P=0.004 and P=0.001, P=0.001, respectively).Furthermore, the frequencies of NK cells,NKG2Aγ+and KIR2DL3γ+inhibitory NK cells were correlated significantly with the values of DAS28 in RA patients (r=0.357,P=0.045;r=0.399,P=0.024;r=0.468,P=0.021,respectively).Conclusion:Lower frequencies of NK cells, higher frequencies of activated NK cells and activated NKT cells, lower frequencies of inhibitory NK cells and inhibitory NKT cells, and higher NK cell activity may induce the autoimmune reaction involved in the pathogenesis of RA.
