Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the influence of controlling multiple cardiovascular risk factors on early renal impairment in patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods 619 in-patients were categorized, according to the diseases they were suffering from into essential hypertension group (EH, 144 cases, m/f=74/70), type 2 diabetes mellitus group (T2DM, 134 cases, m/f=79/55), and metabolic syndrome group (MS, 341 cases, m/f=167/174). The effects of controlling the blood pressure, blood glucose and plasma lipid on early renal impairment were evaluated. Results 1. There were more than one half of the patients in MS and EH with blood pressure above 140/90 mmHg, more than one half of the patients in MS and DM with HbA1c above 7.0%, and more than one half of the patients in MS with triglyceride≥1.7mmol/L with or without high density lipoprotein

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 1995;0(02):-
Eight mongrel dogs were involved in the investigation of sevoflurane effects on renal blood flow (RBF). After intravenous anesthesia and surgical preparation, RBF, MAP, HR, CVP, CO and SV were recorded as baseline. Sevoflurane was then administered to achieve end-tidal concentrations of 1, 2, 3 and 4% in succession. Following 20 mins equilibration at each concentration, and 30 mins after the termination of inhalation, the above parameters were measured repeatly for comparing. Results showed significant dose-related depressions of RBF, MAP, HR and CO with sevoflurane. RBF didn't reduce significantly until MAP decreased to 9.3kPa, with end-tidal concentration of sevoflurane no less than 3%, it didn't recover in step with improved hemodynamic parameters after sevoflurane withdrawal. This study indicates that sevoflurane may influence little on autoregulation of RBF, its dose-related cardiac depression may be responsible for the reduction of RBF.

China Oncology 2016;26(5):452-457
Background and purpose:Radiotherapy and endocrine therapy are both important parts of adjuvant therapy for breast cancer, yet few studies have been conducted focusing on the interaction between radiation and endocrine therapy. Up to now, no conclusion has been drawn on the timing sequence of adjuvant radiation and endocrine therapy, which is indeed crucial in clinical practice. This study intended primarily to investigate the effect of concurrent or sequential exemestane combined with radiation on radiosensitivity of MCF-7 cells and its possible mechanism, and further to provide rationale for optimal clinical treatment modality.Methods:MCF-7 cells were arranged into three trial groups: the radiation group, exemestane sequenced with radiation group and exemestane followed radiation group. Radiosensitivity was evaluated by clonogenic assay, cell proliferation was measured by MTT assay, the ability to induce cell apoptosis was evaluated by DAPI staining assay, the changes of Bcl-2 and Bax were detected by Western blot. Results:Sensitive enhancement ratios (SER) were 1.51 and 1.37 in the exemestane sequenced with radiation group and exemestane followed radiation group, respectively. Compared with the radiation group, the percentage of cellular proliferation inhibition and apoptosis increased obviously in the exemestane sequenced with radiation group and exemestane followed radiation group. Exemestane combined with radiation made the Bax protein increase obviously and the Bcl-2 protein lowered significantly. Conclusion:Exemestane can enhance the radiosensitivity of MCF-7 cells, whose mechanism might be relevant to the promotion of cellular apoptosis. However, the treatment sequence does not affect the outcome.
