1.Next generation sequencing technologies in clinical virological detection

Next generation sequencing technologies,providing high speed and throughput that contribute greatly to DNA sequencing,have many applications in clinical virology,including identification of novel or unsuspected viruses,evaluation of human viromes,investigation of viral genetic diversity and evolution,monitoring of antiviral drug resistance,and analysis of virus-host interaction.Meanwhile,due to the complexity in bioinformatics data processing and lack of quality management standards,further efforts and explorations need to be put in the application and quality management of NGS in clinical laboratory.
2.Discussion on the research instruments management in medical college

Objective:According to the existing problems on research instruments management in medical colleges, we proposed the reasonable purchasing and application advices and how to improve the efficiency. Methods: Aiming at the use and management of instruments of teaching and researching in universities, this paper expounds how to reasonably purchase and improve the use efficiency of large-scale instruments. Results:Five suggestions were proposed. Conclusion: To give full play to the investment benefit and its important role of large-scale instruments in the teaching and scientific research.
3.Optimum culture media and liquid conditions in shaking flasks for laccase production by Ganoderma lucidum

Objective To study the optimum culture media and liquid conditions in shaking flasks for laccase production by Ganoderma lucidum. Methods Taking S_3 stain of G. lucidum as test materials and laccase activity of G. lucidum as measurement index to optimize the culture media and liquid conditions through orthogonal test. Results The optimum culture components of media were: Glucose 30 g/L, cotton 0.2%, (NH_4)_2HPO_4 0.66 g/L, casein 0.5%, Tween-80 0.15 mL; the optimum conditions were: initial pH value of medium was 5.5, 75 mL medium was in 250 mL-flask, inoculation was 12.5%, mycelium age was 5?24 h for 9?24 h culture. Conclusion Laccase activity of G. lucidum has been improved remarkably in the optimum culture media and liquid conditions.
4.Research progress of application of human hair keratin materials in regenerative medicine

As many naturally-derived proteins,keratins have intrinsic biological activity,good biocompatibility and are biodegradable.Human hair keratins,as one type of the autogenous proteins,also have low immune rejection.Compared to other autogenous materials,human hair keratins come from a variety of sources and show attraction in field of regenerative medicine.The human hair keratins applied in neural implant materials,wound dressing,cell culture substrates,drug delivery system and soft tissue reconstructions,which are based on hydrogels,scaffolds coating,films and composite materials present huge development potential in regenerative medicine.
5.Value of Color Scale Ultrasound in the EUS Diagnosis of Stomach and Gallbladder Diseases

With the method of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) and Color scale ultrasound, 156 patients with stomach and gallbladder diseases were examined, The features revealed by the EUS and color scale ultrasound for these diseases were compared with the pathological changes. The findings were that:the mean color quantity scale of benign gastric ulcer was higher than that of gastric cancer(p<0.01).The gallbladder stone was two color quantity scales higher than did polypoid lesions of gallbtadder(p<0.01).The color scale ultrasound can improve the clear degree of lesion pictures.The correct rates of diagnosis were no significant differences between color scale ultrasound and grev scale ultrasound.
6.Cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke: pathophysiological mechanisms and predictors

Cognitive impairment caused by ischemic stroke is becoming more and more concerned.It is crucial to explore its pathophysiological mechanism and related clinical predictive indexes for understanding the occurrence,development and treatment of the disease.This article discusses the pathophysiologic mechanism of cognitive impairment after stroke from the aspects of white matter damage,amyloid abnormal deposition,blood-brain barrier damage,and synaptic plasticity injury,and reviews the risk factors,imaging and biological markers that can be used to predict cognitive impairment after stroke.
7.Rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy: 4 cases report

Objective To study the current situation of diagnosis and treatment of rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy through 4-cases report. Methods We made a clinical study of 4 cases of rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy admitted to our hospital between 1995 and 2005. Results Three patients had been undergone artificial abortion before they were admitted to our hospital. All the patients were asymptomatic. Ultrasonography was made in 3 cases. Two cases were diagnosed as rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy. Three patients were cured with surgery. Conclusions Rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy is rare and with atypical clinical manifestation in the first trimester. Although diagnosis before surgery is difficult, ultrasonography and MRI make a great role. Surgery is the most important therapeutic method.
8.Protective effect of cocaine-and amphetamine-regulated transcript peptide in ischemic brain injury

Cocaine-and amphetamine-regulated transcript (CART), an endogenous neuropeptide, is widely distributed in human organs and tissues, such as brain, gastrointestinal tract and pancreas. It has a variety of important physiological functions, including eating and obesity, stress, mental anxiety, drug addition, and endocrine regulation. Previous studies have suggested that CART is widely distributed in the central nervous system, and it involves in the regulation of a variety of physiological processes and has some central protective effects. It is a potential neuroprotective agent. This article reviews the recent progress in research on the neuroprotective effect of CART on stroke and neurodegenerative disease and its mechanisms, as well as its therapeutic effect in central nervous system diseases.
9.Clinical study of phacoemulsification combined with trabeculectomy for treatment of cataract and glaucoma

Objective To evaluate the effect of combination of phacoemulsification and trabeculectomy on patients with cataract and glaucoma.Methods 19 patients(23 eyes)with co-existing glaucoma and cataract were treated with triple procedure by means of scleral tunnel flap.The mean follow-up period was(15.8 ±3.5)months.Results Compared with preoperative visual acuity,16(64%)of 25 eyes had a best corrected visual acuity of ≥0.6 at the last follow-up(0.1~1.0)(P<0.01);The mean preoperative intraocular pressure(IOP)was(23.01 ±2.63)mmHg which decreased to(14.02 ±2.05)mmHg(P<0.05 ,P <0.01)after treatment.Conclusion The triple procedure is effective for treating patients with co-existing cataract and glaucoma,which could enhance the visual acuity,control IOP and reduce complications.
