1.Factors Influencing Family Functioning in Families with Breast Cancer in the Mother.
Journal of Korean Academy of Adult Nursing 1998;10(2):369-384
The purpose of this study was : 1) to develop and test a theoretical model examining relationships among social support( and social network size ), illness demands, marital adjustment, family coping, and an outcome measure of family functioning in response to a mother's breast cancer in the early postdiagnostic phase ; 2) to investigate the sources of functional social support : and 3) to assess characteristics of social support networks for Korean families with breast cancer. This study used a cross-sectional, correlational design with a causal modeling methodology to test the specified relationships in the recursive theoretical model. the convenience sample of this study consisted of 82 married Korean couples with recently diagnosed breast cancer in the child-rearing mother. Six standardized questionnaires were used to measure the theoretical concepts : social support (ISSB), social network(ASSIS), illness demands(DOII), marital adjustment(DAS), family coping(F-COPES), and family functioning(FACESII). The theoretical model was tested on the aggregated couples' data( family data ) and on mothers and fathers data. Path analysis results from the mothers and the fathers revealed different patterns. A core set of predictive variables were identified with three data sets showing consistent effects on family functioning level-marital adjustment and family coping, marital adjustment and family functioning, and family coping and family functioning. Namely, the level of family functioning was directly and positively affected by family coping behavior and the level of marital adjustment ; the level of marital adjustment had a direct positive effect on family coping behavior. In two reduced models from couples' and mothers' data, three sets of predicted relationships were supported, social support and marital adjustment, and s and marital adjustment. The level of social support received had a direct positive effect on both the level of marital adjustment and family coping behavior, and the experienced illness demands had a direct negative effect on the level of marital adjustment. Few significant gender differences were found in terms of 1) actual and perceived network sizes, need for support, and satisfaction with the support received for each type of functional social support, 20 total network size encompassing all types of functional social support, as well as, 3) the amount of functional social support received. These findings may prove useful for health care professionals working with Korean families with breast cancer or other chronic illness.

4.Relationship between ECG Abnormalities and Prognosisin in Patients with Cerebrovascular Accident
Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(12):-
Objective To investigate the relationship between cerebrovascular accident and abnormal electrocardiogram. Methods The ECG abnormalities and clinical data of 314 patients with cerebrovascular accident were analyzed. Results 56.7% patients developed arrhythmia. Among them, the morbility of arrhythmia in patients with cerebral hemorrhage was higher than that of cerebral infarction ( P
5.Effects of Dibutyl Phthalate on the Ovary of Mice
Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(05):-
Objective To determine the effects of dibutyl phthalate(DBP) on female mice reproductive system. Methods The healthy Kunming adult female mice with body weight from 22 g to 30 g were randomly divided into 4 groups, one as reagent control group. The other three as treated groups, 12 female mice per group. In the exposure groups, the mice were administrated by peritoneal injection with DBP at the dose of 400?40?4mg/kg body weight, respectively. The mice in control group were administrated with the same amount of vehicle(dimethyl sulfoxide). All the mice were administrated once a day, continuously for 14 days. The estrous cycles were observed during the period of the experimental study. On the fifteenth and twenty-eightieth days, the mice were sacrificed. The organ coefficients of uterus and ovary were determined, and the histopathological changes of the left ovary were observed. Results The estrous cycles in 400 mg/kg body weight dose group and 40 mg/kg body weight dose group were markedly delayed with a significant dose-effect relationship. The organ coefficients of the uterus in the groups exposed to DBP were significantly higher than that of the control group. On the fifteenth days, the number of mature follicles in 400 mg/kg body weight dose group was less than that of the control group, but the number of atretic follicles in 400 mg/kg body weight dose group and 40 mg/kg body weight dose group were more than that of the control group. On the twenty-eightieth days, the number of atretic follicles in 400 mg/kg body weight dose group was more than that of the control group. Conclusion Dibutyl phthalate had adverse effects on the reproduction-endocrine system of adult female mice. DBP might demonstrate an estrogenic activity in vivo.
6.Expression of Twist protein and its relationship with epithelial-mesenchymal transition phenomenon in gastric cancer
Cancer Research and Clinic 2013;25(12):823-825
Objective To investigate the relationship between the expressions of Twist and clinical pathological parameters in gastric carcinoma,to explore its significance in judging the prognosis of patients, and to analyze the expression of Twist proteins in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) phenomenon. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expressions of Twist and EMT relative proteins E-cad,N-cad in 120 cases of gastric carcinoma specimens and corresponding adjacent normal tissue.Analysis The relationship between Twist expression and clinical pathological parameters, and the Twist expression and E-cad,N-cad were analyzed. Results In gastric carcinoma,Twist,E-cad,N-cad positive rates were 59.1%(71/120),36.6 % (44/120) and 47.5 % (57/120),and in adjacent tissues, the positive rate were 17.5 % (21/120),93.3 % (112/120) and 11.6 % (14/120).There were significant differences in each index between tumor tissues and adjacent tissues (P < 0.05).Patients with Twist positive expression showed higher incidence rates of lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05) and distant metastasis (P < 0.05) than those with Twist negative expression. The expression of Twist was significantly correlated in gastric carcinoma accompanied by low expression of E-cad and abnormal high N-cad expression (P < 0.05).Conclusions Compared with the adjacent tissue, the expression of Twist,E-cad and N-cad have significant differences, and the expression of Twist was closely related to the biological characteristics in gastric carcinoma. The expression of Twist in gastric cancer have negative correlation with the EMT relative factor E-cad,while positive correlation with the N-cad.

Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(04):-
Objective To compare the therapeutic effect of auricular acupuncture with that of hormone substitution on perimenopause syndrome patients to study the mechanism of auricular therapy. Methods Totally 68 female cases were randomized into the auricular acupuncture group and hormone group,34 cases in each. The auricular acupuncture group was given electro-acupuncture on Neifenmi(CD18),Ovarium,and Uterus;and the hormone group was given Tibolone. Before and after treatment, record Kupperman score and determine serum estradiol(E2),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)and luteotropic hormone(LH)respectively. Results After treatment, the Kupperman scores of both groups were decreased, the level of E2 increased obviously,FSH and LH decreased, the difference was significant(P0.05).Conclusion The auricular therapy can effectively relieve the perimenopause syndrome and improve the reproductive endocrine function of perimenopause females.
