Objective To investigate the significance of combined detection of serum tumor markers in the diagnosis of lung cancer,and to select the most sensitive serum tumor markers.Methods Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect the serum tumor markers of 62 lung cancer patients and 62 healthy persons,who were neuron specific enolase enzyme (NES),carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA 125),cytokeratin 19 (CYFRA21-1) and carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA).Results The level of serum CEA,CA125,CYFRA21-1,and NES of the lung cancer group were all higher than those of the control group (all P ＜ 0.05).Among the four kinds of tumor markers,CA125 had the highest sensitivity(59.7％),which was followed by CEA(53.2％).The sensitivity of the four kinds of joint detection was 87.1％,the highest sensitivity of three markers joint detection was CEA + CA125 + CYFRA21-1 (87.1％),while that of the two kinds of joint detection was CEA + CA125 (75.8％).Conclusion There are high clinical significance in the diagnosis of lung cancer with four kinds of serum tumor markers,CEA + CA125 + CYFRA21-1 can be used as the best markers for joint detection of lung cancer with high sensitivity.

Objective To investigate the role of hepatocyte growth factor(HGF),keratinocyte growth factor(KGF) and interleukin-1β(IL-1β) in tracheal aspirates (TA) in the genesis and development of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).Methods The levels of HGF,KGF and IL-1β in TA of 25 children with ARDS (ARDS group) and 23 children with non-ARDS (control group) were assayed by ELISA.Lung injury score was applied to all patients.Results The levels of HGF,KGF and IL-1β in TA were significantly higher in ARDS group than in control group(P<0.0 1).As compared with survivors,the levels of HGF,KGF and IL-1β in TA were markedly higher in dead patients(P<0.01).LIS had a positive correlation with the levels of HGF,KGF and IL-1β(P<0.01).Conclusion HGF,KGF and IL-1β participate in the development of ARDS.The degree of lung injury and prognosis of ARDS may be early estimated by the levels of HGF,KGF and IL-1β in TA.

Objective Measuring the concentration of PTH when pcDNA3.1?PTH was injected into the muscle of rabbits with hypoparathyroidism (HPT),studying the relationship between change of blood PTH and pcDNA3.1?PTH dosage.Methods Different dosages of pcDNA3.1?PTH(100?g/ml, 300?g/ml and 500?g/ml)containing human PTH gene were injected respectively into muscle of the experimental rabbits after parathyroidectomy in advance.Then the concentration of PTH in blood of rabbits was measured at following different times.Results PTH level began to increase from the first day,which reached in peak concentration at the seventh day after the injection of pcDNA3.1?PTH and persisting two months.Conclusion Human PTH gene was effective in therapying HPT rabbits,their best effective dosages were 300?g/ml and 500?g/ml respectively.

Objective To observe the neuroprotective effect of Gangliosides on rats with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion. Methods Rat models were established through middle cerebral artery occlusion and divided into sham-operation group, ischemia-reperfusion group and Gangliosides group. The volume of infarotion and changes of NAA and Lactate at different time point were evaluated by DWI and MRS examinations. ObjectiveTo discuss the causes, preventions and treatments of fractures after spinal cord injury (SCI).MethodsA retrospective survey was carried out in the clinical data of 22 patients who suffered fractures after SCI in China Rehabilitation Research Center (CRRC) during 1988-2001.ResultsAll the patients showed osteoporosis or osteopenia in different degrees,fractures occured unconsciously or during minor force,without symptoms after fractures.It was difficult to discover and often was neglected. 15 patients were cured by surgical operation.Conclusions Osteoporosis is the pathological base of fractures after SCI, excess loading stress in the diaphysis is the main cause during joint movement passively, it is important to emphasize preventions and treatments of osteoporosis on early stage and the health propaganda and education is needed.

Purpose To prepare streptavidin-tagged mouse interleukin-4(mIL-4-SA)bifunctional fusion protein and to study on its bioactivity.Methods The mIL-4 gene was cloned by RT-PCR and cloned into pET21 vector to get mIL-4-SA-pET21 expression plasmid.The mIL-4-SA fusion protein was expressed in BL21 (DE3)host bacteria and purified through the Ni-NTA affinity chromatography and refolded by dilution and dialysis.The effect of mIL-4-SA fusion protein on mouse thymocytes proliferation was evaluated by MTY.Flow cytometric analysis was performed to detect the mIL-4-SA fusion protein on the biotinylated B16F10 tumor cells.Results The mIL-4-SA-pET21 vector was successful by constructed and the mIL-4-SA fusion protein was expressed in BL21(DE3)at about 35%of total bacterial proteins.The purity of mIL-4-SA Was about 95% through Ni-NTA.The mIL-4-SA fusion protein exhibited bifunctional activities,i.e.,stimulative effect for mouse thymocyte proliferation and SA-mediated high-affinity binding to biotinylated cell surfaces(anchoring modified rate Was about 96.69%).Conclusion The mIL-4-SA fusion protein was expected to be developed for the treatment of tumors.
