Objective Explore the effect of case method on clinical teaching of Medical Oncology. Methods The case method was taken in the teaching of Clinical Oncology for trial group, and the traditional method teaching was taken for contrast group of our university. At the end of term, we made a questionnaire and statistics examination records. Results (1) It was conducive to good learning ability. Case method teaching in Clinical Oncology could cultivate student's ability to study independently. (2) Comparing examination records of the two groups, it also showed a significant difference ( <0.05) . Conclusion (1) Case method teaching has good teaching effect, and it can cultivate student's ability to study independently. (2) Application of case teaching method in Clinical Oncology received a very good teaching result, but the assessment system should be established and improved.

Several antigen epitopes were designed according to the sequences of Swine influenza virus hemagglutinin (HA) genes and lined with the interval. The gene was amplified by PCR and sub cloned into pET30a (+) vector. The fusion protein was expressed in E. coli BL21 (DE3) by induced with IPTG and purified by affinity chromatography. The molecular weight of the protein was about 20 kD in SDS-PAGE. Immunological activity of the fusion protein was analyzed by Western blot. The results showed that the fusion protein could interact with anti-His antibody and the rabbit antiserum against SIV. The immunized mouse can produced antibodies against the target peptide and HI antibody against SIV H1N1 or H3N2. This study provides a new vaccine candidate for SIV.

Objective To explore the associations between vitamin D receptor ( VDR) Fok- Ⅰ and Apa- Ⅰ polymorphisms and myasthenia gravis (MG) in Chinese Han population. Methods Polymorphisms of VDR Fok- Ⅰ and Apa-Ⅰ were determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method. The frequencies of genotypes and hyplotypes were compared among 286 normal controls and 267 MG patients in different subgroups classified by gender, age of onset, presence of thymoma, and Osserman classification sat maximal severity in the follow-up.The association between the genotypes and maximal severity of MG and short-term glucocorticoid treatment were also investigated. Results There were no significant differences in frequencies of genotypes and hyplotypes of both Fok-Ⅰ and Apa-Ⅰ between MG group and control group, and among subgroups of MG.The Fok- Ⅰ showed no statistical difference between the patients with better and less improvement after short-term treatment of glucocorticoid. The frequency of Apa-Ⅰ alleles in the patients with better improvement (55/186,29.6% ) significantly differed from the less improved group ( 7/48,14.6%,OR = 2.46,95% CI 1.04-10.43,x2 = 4.400,P = 0.036).The patients with the genotype A A/Aa were more likely to improve better after the treatment(48/93,51.6%) than in the worse group(7/24,29.2%,OR =2.59,95% CI 0.98-14.60,x2 =3.858,P= 0.049).Conclusions Alleles and genotypes of VDR-Fok- Ⅰ and Apa-Ⅰ were not found to be related with MG onset and severity.MG patients with VDR-Apa-A allele may have better improvement short-term treatment of glucocorticoid.

The lung is an important organ in systemic toxicity test of medical devices and is significant in safety evaluation. Based on the authors' understanding of medical devices, this study provides a brief analysis of the lung examination and common problems in systemic toxicity, so as to provide references for the pre-clinical safety evaluation of medical devices. It should be noted that a reasonable risk assessment should be made after comprehensive assessment for specific medical device products.

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of Yushi Huayu Zhixue prescription (Huayu prescription) combined with levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) in the treatment of adenomyosis (AM). Methods A prospective,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial was designed and 102 patients with AM admitted to the outpatient department of International Peace Maternal & Child Health Hospital and The First Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University (Second Military Medical University) from Dec. 2019 to Dec. 2022 were enrolled. The patients were randomly divided into Huayu prescription group and placebo group for double-blind clinical trial. The Huayu prescription group was treated with Huayu prescription 1 month after LNG-IUS placement, while the placebo group was treated with placebo 1 month after LNG-IUS placement, and both Huayu prescription and placebo were taken for 3 months. A total of 95 patients completed the follow-up,including 47 in the Huayu prescription group and 48 in the placebo group;and 7 were shed, with a shedding rate of 6.86%. The pictorial blood loss assessment chart (PBAC) score, uterine spotting days, visual analogue scale (VAS) score, uterine volume, serum carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) level and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome quantitative score were compared between the 2 groups, and the safety was evaluated. Results After 3 months of treatment, compared with the placebo group, the PBAC score, spotting days, uterine volume, serum CA125 level and TCM syndrome quantitative score of patients in the Huayu prescription group were all decreased (all P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the VAS score of dysmenorrhea (P>0.05). During the follow-up,no patients in the Huayu prescription group but 2 patients in the placebo group received surgical treatment (including 1 case of laparoscopic hysterectomy and 1 case of laparoscopic adenomyomectomy),and there was no significant difference in the surgical rate between the 2 groups (P>0.05). Meanwhile,no obvious adverse reactions were found in both groups. Conclusion Huayu prescription can significantly improve the spotting of patients with AM,promote uterine volume reduction, reduce serum CA125 level, and significantly improve the TCM syndrome of AM. It is suggest that AM patients should take Huayu prescription after placing LNG-IUS,so as to reduce the adverse reactions of LNG-IUS.
