Objective To analyse CT findings of pleural mensothelioma caused by crocodolite in their living environment. Methods CT findings of malignant pleural mensothelioma in 55 cases were reviewed and analyzed retrospectively. Results Of 55 cases there were localized pleural mensothelioma in 1 accompanied with less pleural effusion and malignant diffuse pleural mensothelioma in 54 ,of which 13 cases had no pleural effusion,30 cases had less or more effusion and 11 cases had a large amount of pleural effusion. In 4 cases, mensotheliomas localized in low-right thorax accompanied pleural effusion in left thorax. The CT findings of these four patients were pleural thickening more than 2 cm.The lesion was manifested as decorative border, nodule and mass of soft tissue and there was much enhancement. Conclusion CT scan is very helpful in detecting the location, extent of pleural mensothelioma and follow-up of patients.

AIM: To study the effects of taurine on ATP sensitive potassium channel (IK_~-ATP ) during hypoxia in single ventricular myocyte. METHODS: The model of myocardial hypoxia was induced by unmixed and saturated nitrogen. IK_~-ATP activities were measured by whole-cell patch clamp recording. RESULTS: Activities of IK_~-ATP in the cell membrane of hypoxia ventricular myocyte significantly increased, compared to that in the normal. Extracellular injection of taurine (5,10,20 mmol/L) inhibited the increase in the IK_~-ATP activity in the hypoxia myocardium in a concentration-depend manner. Injection of taurine also recovered shorten APD during hypoxia. CONCLUSIONS: Taurine produces its cardioprotective effect by inhibiting the activity of IK_~-ATP in the hypoxia cardiomycytes of guinea pig. The results suggest that the depletion of taurine during myocardial hypoxia contributes to the early activation of the K_~ATP channel. [

AIM: To observe the changes of Ca-L current (ICa-L) and to investigate the mechanism of salvia miltiorrhizae (SM) for eliminating Ca~2+ overloaded in cells during acute hypoxia/reoxygenation. METHODS: The whole cell patch clamp technique was applied to study the changes of ICa-L. Different concentrations (32, 320, ~3 200 mg/L) of SM were added to the ventricular myocytes isolated from guinea pigs by enzyme digestion. RESULTS: SM (32, 320, ~3 200 mg/L) decreased the amplitude of ICa-L in a concentration-dependent manner regardless of these cells were under normoxia, hypoxia or reoxygenation. Furthermore, SM at low concentration (32 mg/L) was more effective to hypoxia or reoxygenation-treated cells than that to the cells under normoxia condition. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that SM effectively decreases the abnormal raised amplitude of ICa-L in ventricular myocytes under hypoxia or reoxygenation conditions, preventing Ca~2+ overloaded in the cells. AIM: To investigate the effect of hypoxia on persistent sodium current (I_Nap ) in single ventricular myocyte isolated from acute myocardial infarction (AMI) heart of rats and to study the mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias that occur after AMI. METHODS: AMI model was induced by ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery in rats. The whole-cell patch clamp technique was used to record the current in epicardial myocytes in infarcted region from rats at 3 week after AMI. RESULTS: In normoxic conditions, the current density of I_ Nap in cardiomyocytes of fake operation (FO) and AMI hearts was 0.144?0.022 pA/pF (n=9), 0.121?0.013 pA/pF (n=9,P

[Objective]To study the changes of the histomorphology and content of hydroxyproline that irradiated by 2.87 Mrad ?-rays in human tendon. [Methods]Forty fresh human tendons were freezed in-80℃ for six weeks, and randomly divided into two groups: the experimental group(group A) and control group(group B).Group A stored in dry ice was exposed to ?-rays until the absorbed dose reached 2.87 Mrad. The tendons was stained with HE and VG methods, and then observed by common light microscope and transmission electron microscope respectively. The content of hydroproline in tendon collagen hydrolysate was determined by the high performance liquid chromatography with precolumn derivation.[Results]①The results of histomorphology observation revealed that compared to the control group, the gaps between collagen fiber bands in irradiation group were enlarged, incompact, disordered and some of them fractured. The electron microscope observation showed that the transverse striation of the collagen fibers became unclear or disappeared. The membrane of tendon cell was dissolved, the cell nuclear was disintegrated and the organelles was reduced.②The content of hydroxyproline in the collagen hydrolysate of irradiation group was significantly higher than that in non-irradiation group under the same hydrolysis condition(P

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2000;0(05):-
Objective: To compare the fracture resistance of pulpless teeth restored with three types of post core. Methods: A total of 21 recently extracted sound upper incisors were randomly distributed into 3 groups. In group A the teeth were restored with prefabricated glass fiber post and composite core; in group B with custom cast titanium alloy post and core; and in group C with Ni Cr alloy dowel core. The size and shape of posts were identical in the 3 groups. All teeth were fully covered with Ni Cr alloy cast crown. Fracture resistance was measured by applying a point force at 130 degrees to the long axis of the teeth. Results: Mean fracture threshold was (276.6?15.1)N in group A, (394.7?29.1)N in group B and (373.4? 53.8 )N in group C. In group B and C, however, fracture always affected the tooth itself, whereas in group A,the core always failed first. Conclusion: Fiber reinforced composite(FRC) post may meet the clinical need, FRC post combined with composite core may prevent tooth root from fracture.

Journal of Interventional Radiology 2017;26(8):753-755
Objective To compare the interventional operation room air disinfection effect of circulatingair disinfection method by an ultraviolet air disinfector with that of air-purifying screen disinfection method in order to provide scientific basis for formulating optimal measures to control hospital infection. Methods By using plate natural sedimentation method, air sampling was conducted at different period of time after the start of air disinfection in operation room. The air sterilization results of the two disinfection methods for the operation room where several consecutive interventional procedures had been performed were compared. Results Both disinfection methods had better preoperative air disinfection effect (P>0.05).When ultraviolet disinfection method was used, the differences in colony detection results among the air samples that were collected at different time periods were statistically significant (P>0.01).With the increasing of time after the start of air disinfection, the number of bacterial colonies was increased. If air-purifying screen disinfection method was employed, the air in the operation could be continuously and dynamically purified, the number of bacterial colonies determined in the whole course of operation met the national hygienic standard for air disinfection. Conclusion Continuous air purification by using air-purifying screen disinfection method can shorten the interval between consecutive surgeries, meanwhile, the operation room can be kept in a condition for any emergency surgery at anytime, besides, nosocomialtion can be effectively prevented.
