Objective:To investigate the relationship between psychological factors and the serum level of estrogen in menopausal women with glossdynia.Methods:87 menopausal women with glossdynia and a randomly selected control group (n=82) were comprehensively investigated with the method of case-control study.The serum level of estradiol(E2) and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH) were measured.All cases with glossdynia and control were evaluated by the Self-Rating Annxiety Scale(SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS). 2.Investigation of Demodex Infection among Students in a University

Objective To investigate the relationship between Demodex infection and season , sex, different parts and the infectious rate of Demodex in human faces among students of a university and to prevent diseases caused by Demodex infection.Methods The samples of Demodex were collected from sophomores in December 2006 to May 2007.Results The results showed that the infectious rate in male,31.5% in winter and 38.0% in summer respectively, higher than those in female.On the face, the highest infectious rate was on the nose.The infectious rate on the cheeks was lowest.The relationship between Demodex infection and season, sex was observed.Conclusion The infectious rate of Demodex in human faces is associated with the season and sex.

4.Detection of ASC in spleen cells and GALT after immunization with two bivalent Shigella vaccines in different administration rout in mice

Abstract Objective:FSM-2117 and FS-5416 are two bivalent hybrid strains of S.flexneri and S.sonnei, constructed by this laboratory-The FS-5416 expresses four invassive plasmid antigens(IpaA、IpaB、IpaC and IpaD) and has a good contact heamolysis activity(CHA+ ), butFSM-2117 hasn' t. To observe the immunogenicity of Shigelk vaccines through three different mucosal administration rout, the changes of ASCin the spleen and Peyer's patch(PP) , mesenteric lymph nodes(MLN) lymphocytes are detected.Methods:BALB/c mice were divided intothree groups, 20 mice per group. Mice were immunized respectively with the Ipa+ or Ipa- vaccines(4 x 10~7 CFU) three times with an intervalof two weeks by intranasal、intragastric or intraintestinal administration routs. The spleen , PP , MLN lymphocytes were isolated of seventh dayat random after immunization. An BA-EIISASPOT was done to account the numbers of ASC.Results:The numbers of SIgA and SIgG ASC ofspleen , PP , MLN lymphocytes of intranasal and intraintestinal group were significantly increased . Significant difference were only observed inthe number of spleen lymphocytes SIgA and SIgG ASC of intranasal group between Ipa+ and Ipa- . Conclusion:Two bivalent Shigelk vaccinescan induce spleen and GALT immunity reaction by nasal or small intestinal mucosal in a low dosage compared with intragastric rout (about 1/20). Ipa can significantly increased the number of spleen lymphocytes SIgA and SIgG ASC of intranasal group.
5.The expression and correlation between VEGF and TSP in oral submucous fibrosis

Objective:To study the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), and thrombospondin (TSP) in oral submucous fibrosis(OSF), and to determine the relationship between VEGF and TSP, so as to investigate their roles in the pathogenesis of OSF. Methods:30 patients with OSF, including early (10 cases), middle (10 cases), late stage (10 cases) were studied. 5 healthy volunteers were chosen as control group. Buccal mucosa biopsies were taken in all samples. Expressions of VEGF and TSP were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results:The expression of VEGF increased in early stage compared with normal oral mucous, and decreased in middle and late stage. The expression of VEGF in early stage had statistical difference compared with control group, middle stage and late stage respectively(P<0.05).The expression of TSP upregulated in early and middle, and downregulated in late stage. There were no statistical significant differences among groups(P>0.05). The expressions of VEGF and TSP had negative correlation(r=-0.620,P<0.05). Conclusions: The abnormal expressions of VEGF and TSP may be a pathogenesis factor of OSF.
6.A retrospective study of OSF coexisted with OLK or OLP

Objective To analyze the clinical feature and pathological characteristics of oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) coexisted with oral leukoplakia (OLK) or oral lichen planus (OLP),and summarize both the common and each clinical and pathological characteristics of two kinds of diseases.Methods The clinical and pathological data of 74 patients with OSF coexisted with OLK and 57patients with OSF coexisted with OLP were retrospectively reviewed.Results Most of patients with OSF coexisted with OLK or OLP were mainly young and middle-aged male patients,and all had the habit of eating betel quid chewing.Most of them had the habit of smoking and alcohol drinking; while their limitation of mouth opening were not obvious.Patients coexisted with unilateral OLK or OLP all had a unilateral mastication of chewing betel nut;the prevalence rate of erosive OLP was lower in the patients with OSF coexisted OLP than that of OLP patients never chew betel nut.The pathology of both OSF coexisted with OLK or OLP was with the respective characteristics of OLK or OLP on the basis of OSF,and the epithelium was thickened more than atrophic.No relationship was found between the degree of epithelial hyperplasia and the severity of fibrosis in patients with OSF coexisted with OLK.Conclusions OSF coexisted with OLK and OSF coexisted with OLP were the occurrence of OLK or OLP on the basis of OSF,which were not a simple superposition of two diseases,but combination with their own characteristics of OSF coexisted with OLK or OLP.

Objective:To study the dynamic expression of Nogo-A in hippocampus of rats after carbon monoxide poisoning,and to explore the effect and influence of Nogo-A in the damage to nervous system after carbon monoxide poisoning.Methods:Thirty male SD rats were randomly divided into NC group(n=6),CO group(n=6),CO-24 h group(n=6),CO-48 h group(n=6),CO-7d group(n=6).The method of injection CO gas was used to establish the carbon monoxide poisoning model.Then immunohistochemical (IHC) and Western blot (WB) techniques were used to observe dynamic expression of Nogo-A in hippocampus of rats at several time intervals after carbon monoxide poisoning and to analyze its change law.Results:IHC results showed that the average optical density value of expression of Nogo-A in NC group,CO group,CO-24 h group,CO-48h group and CO-7d group were 0.0928± 0.0038,0.01172± 0.0042,0.1452± 0.0056,0.1271 ± 0.0057,0.1088± 0.0055.WB results showed that the expression of Nogo-A in hippocampus after carbon monoxide poisoning was significantly higher than that in NC group(P<0.05),and reached the highest level at 24 h,then had a gradual recovery after 24h.The expression of Nogo-A decreased obviously,but still higher than that of NC group by day 7 (P<0.05).Conclusions:In this study,the increase of expression of Nogo-A was associated with carbon monoxide poisoning.The expression of Nogo-A reached the highest level at 24h,then had a gradual recovery after 24 h.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the mechanism of action on compatible using of total alkaloids of Radix Aconiti Praeparata and total glycosides or polysaccharides of Radix Paeoniae Alba therapy on rheumatoid arthritis in rats.
METHODThe rat models of rheumatoid arthritis of cold and dampness syndrome were treated with total alkaloids of Radix Aconiti Praeparata and total glycosides or polysaccharides of Radix Paeoniae Alba. Observed the contents of hypothalamic L-ENK, hypothalamic-END, plasmatic SP, serumal IgG, serumal cell factors (IL-1beta, TNF-alpha, IL-6, IL-2, IL-10) by radioimmunity method and ultrastructural change of synovial cell in electron microscope.
RESULTTotal alkaloids of Radix Aconiti Praeparata and total glycosides or polysaccharides of Radix Paeoniae Alba could relieve arthrocele and arthralgia and elevate the contents of L-ENK, beta-END, IL-2 and degrade the contents of SP, IgG, IL-1beta, IL-6 and inhibit abnormal secretion accentuation of synovial cell like fiber.
CONCLUSIONTotal alkaloids of Radix Aconiti Praeparata and total glycosides or polysaccharides of Radix Paeoniae Alba could be used to treat rheumatoid arthritis of cold and dampness syndrome. The mechanism of action might be that the contents of center endogenous opioid peptides had increased, the synthesis and release of SP had been inhibited, the disturbance of serumal cell factor had been adjusted, and the synthesis and secretion of serum immune globulin and abnormal secretion accentuation of synovial cell had been inhibited.
