1.Effects of reinforcing qi and nourishing blood recipes on vascular endothelial growth factor and microvessel count in granulation tissue in rats with chronic skin ulcers
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2008;6(10):1049-53
OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of reinforcing qi and nourishing blood recipes on vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and the microvessel count (MVC)in granulation tissue in rats with chronic skin ulcers. METHODS: A total of 90 male SD rats with back full-thickness skin lesion were used in this study. Except for the normal control group, the rats were injected with hydrocortisone for inducing chronic skin ulcers, and were randomly divided into untreated group, Sijunzi Decoction group, Siwu Decoction group and Bazhen Decoction group. The time of wound healing was observed; immunohistochemical method and image analytical method were used to test the expressions of VEGF and MVC in granulation tissue of dermal chronic ulcers in the rats. RESULTS: In the untreated group, the time of wound healing was significantly longer than that in the normal group (P<0.01). The time of wound healing was obviously shortened in the three treated groups as compared with the untreated group (P<0.01, P<0.05). In the Sijunzi Decoction group, the time of wound healing was obviously shorter than those in Siwu Decoction group and Bazhen Decoction group (P<0.05, P<0.01). In the untreated group, the expression of VEGF and MVC were significantly lower than those in the normal control group (P<0.01). The expression of VEGF and MVC were obviously increased in the three treated groups as compared with those in the untreated group (P<0.01, P<0.05). In the Sijunzi Decoction group, the expression of VEGF and MVC were obviously lower than those in Siwu Decoction group and Bazhen Decoction group (P<0.05, P<0.01). CONCLUSION: Reinforcing qi and nourishing blood recipes can promote wound healing in rats through up-regulating the expression of VEGF in granulation tissue of dermal chronic ulcers, and inducing angiogenesis.
2.Effects of Automobil Exhausts on Immune Adherence Function of Erythrocytes in Mice
Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(02):-
Objective To explore the effects of automobil exhaust on immune adherence function of erythrocytes in mice Methods The male Kunming mice were exposed to gasoline fueled engine exhausts 20 minutes per day continouusly for 20 days After the whole exposure, the ratio of spleen to body weight and total count of erythrocytes in peripheral blood of mice were observed The immune adherence function of erythrocytes was determined by complement sensitized yeast cell hemagglutination test in mice Results The ratio of spleen to body weight [(4.84?0.53)mg/g] and total count of erythrocytes [(5 83?10 12?0 25?10 12)/L] of mice exposed to automobil exhausts were significantly lower than those of control group [(5 55?0 68)mg/kg,(7 71?10 12?0 29?10 12)/L] respectively The positive rate of blood coagulation of exposure group (12 5%) was significantly lower than that of control group (82 5%) at blood coagulation titer of 1∶8,? 2=39 2,P
3.Study on the Quality Standard of Embelia laeta
China Pharmacy 2016;27(21):3009-3010,3011
OBJECTIVE:To establish the quality standard for Embelia laeta. METHODS:TLC was adopted for the qualitative identification. HPLC was adopted for the content determination of embelin:the column was Waters C18 with mobile phase consisted of methanol-5%methanoic acid(90∶10,V/V)at a flow rate of 0.9 ml/min,the detection wavelength was 288 nm,the column tem-perature was 40 ℃,nd the injection volume was 10 μl. RESULTS:The TLC of E. laeta showed clear spots and good separation. The linear range of embelin was 4.012-40.12 μg/ml(r=0.999 4);RSDs of precision, stability and reproducibility tests were lower than 2%;recovery was 96.54%-99.57%(RSD=1.20%,n=6). CONCLUSIONS:The established standard can be used for the quality control of E. laeta.

5.Chinese classical formulas for treatment of essential hypertension.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(5):929-933
Essential hypertension is one of the most prevalent and important public health concerns in both westernized and developing countries. Recent studies have demonstrated that successful long-term treatment of hypertension has a significant impact on morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and stroke. Chinese classical formulas, which are important components of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), have been increasingly accepted by patients with CVDs worldwide. According to TCM theory and syndrome differentiation, hypertension could be categorized into 3 patterns including fire syndrome, fluid retention syndrome, and deficiency syndrome. Chinese classical formulas, including Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli tang, Tianma Gouteng yin, Zhen Gan Xifeng tang, Banxia Baizhu Tianma tang, Liu Wei Dihuang wan, etc, play an important role in the treatment of essential hypertension, which could be further research priorities.

6.Uncontrolled factors of blood pressure in essential hypertension: from "patient's high blood pressure" to "hypertensive patient".
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(7):1329-1334
Hypertension is a significant medical and public health issue which puts an enormous burden on health care resources and the community. It is a chronic medical condition in which the systemic arterial blood pressure (BP) is elevated. Serious complications including cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases would be preventable if the rise in BP with age could be prevented or diminished. The majority of hypertensive patients require long-term treatment. Oral antihypertensive drugs, lifestyle modification including exercise and dietary modification are milestones for hypertension therapy. However, the control rate of hypertension hasn't reached the expected requirements currently. "Three lows" status quo, just low awareness, low treatment, and low control, are still the major problems confronting modern medicine. Recently, uncontrolled factors of blood pressure are widely concerned, which include insomnia, constipation, mood disorders, exogenous, etc. What's more, the control strategies of hypertension should not only pay close attention to "patient's high blood pressure", but also to "hypertensive patient". Therefore, the treatment of uncontrolled factors of blood pressure plays an important role in hypertensive therapy, which could be further research priorities.

7.Generation and regulation of Leydig cells.
National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(3):273-276
Leydig cells, located in the loose interstitial tissue of seminiferous tubules, are the major site for androgen synthesis and secretion, and play an important role in the reproductively and fertility of males. The dysfunction of Leydig cells may lead to various male diseases, such as primary hypogonadism, cryptorchidism, and hypospadias. This review outlines the recent findings concerning the generation, development and regulation of Leydig cells.

Jie WANG ; Qingyong HE ; Yanwei XING
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(02):-
Objective: 139 documents (10,646 cases of angina pectoris in patients with coronary heart disease) which were treated with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) of angina pectoris were researched, the application and existing problems of TCM evaluation standards of the efficacy of angina pectoris were studied to determine constructive items (candidate indicatrix) of TCM evaluation standards. Methods: The efficacy evaluation database of angina pectoris was established by the literature search and the software Epidata2.0, recorded in the database, and statistical analysed. Results: There are many kinds of evaluation standards of TCM efficacy of angina pectoris, but the utilization rate of each standard is lower than 40%. The main constructive item in evaluation standards of angina pectoris should include: the effect of the disease, syndrome effects, physical and chemical indicatrix, important clinical event, quality of life, and so on. Conclusion: The current evaluation standards of TCM efficacy of angina pectoris can not meet the clinical needs. A received evaluation standard should be established. The evaluation of TCM efficacy of angina pectoris should adopt integrated multi-dimensional index system.
