Hyperthyroidism with periodic paralysis is common in clinic,the curative effect of peroral drugs on it is not satisfactory. In order to evaluate the treatment of 131 I for periodic paralysis in patients with hyperthyroidism, fouty two patients with hyperthyroidism complicated with periodic paralysis were put on p.o. 5.0 9.0 mCi 131 I Na treatment and the remission rate of periodic paralysis was observed.The total effective rate was over 95%. It can be concluded that 131 I could be used as a routine therapy for periodic paralysis in most patients with hyperthyroidism for its safety and efficiency.

Objective To study the relationship between voice acoustic analysis(VAA) and voice handicap index (VHI) in patients with vocal cord polyps,and to investigate the characteristic of the VHI.Methods 35 subjects with normal voice and 35 patients with vocal cord polyps underwent VHI,were tested by VAA.Results The parameters such as APQ、jitter、shimmer、NHR in patients with vocal cord polys were much higher than those in the normal voice group.The average score of VHI was 43.32?4.66,while the average score of the normal voice group was 12.51?1.88.There was no correlation between VHI and VAA.Conclusion Since there is no correlation between VHI and VAA in patients with vocal cord polys.One can not speculate the VHI score by the voice acoustic analysis.

Effective treatments of acute ischemic stroke include the specialist wards (stroke units) with multidisciplinary treatment team receiving treatment and intravenous thrombolytic therapy.However,only a few patients can receive these treatments.Telestroke can improve the thrombolytic rate of acute ischemic stroke on site in hospitals for lacking of specialists and enable stroke care maintained at a high level in rural areas.This article reviews telestroke in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke and the roles of nurses in telestroke.

Objective:To establish the industry standard for growth hormone quantitative labelling immunoassay kit, and to validate it by chemiluminescence labeling and time-resolved fluorescence labeling method which are suitable for the standard.Methods: Different assay method kits, including magnetic particle chemiluminescent assay, electrochemiluminescence assay, chemiluminescence assay and time-resolved fluorescent assay, were used to verified the blank limitation, linearity, accuracy, precision, specificity and stability in accordance with protocol industry standard.Results: Other verification results could meet requirements of the protocol industry standard besides accuracy in part of kits couldn't achieve to anticipative remand (relative deviation couldn't be more than ±10%).Conclusion: According to the verification results, the accuracy requirements was adjusted to ±15%. The other items of industry standard were maintained. The industry standard for growth hormone quantitative labeling immunoassay kit is ultimately established. The standard would contribute to unity quality standard of growth hormone quantitative labeling immunoassay kit, and provide the basis for the supervision and administration of its production, examination, circulation, clinical application and other areas.

Objective: To establish an HPLC method to detect the limit of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural in Yueju Baohe pills.
Methods: A Zafex Acutfex PW-C₁₈ column（4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm） was adopted with mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.1% formic acid aqueous solution（2:98）at the flow rate of 1.0 mL·min^-1. The column temperature was 40 ℃ and the detective wavelength was set at 284 nm.
Results: The linear range of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural was 0.491 9-122.98 μg·mL^-1 (r=1.000). The average recovery(n=6) was 97.99% with RSD 0.61%. All of the RSDs for precision,repeatability and stability met the methodological requirements. According to the proposed limit, 17 of the 65 batches of samples did not meet the requirements, and the failure rate was 26.15%.
Conclusion: The established method is suitable for the limit test of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural in Yueju Baohe pills.There was a significant difference in the content of 65 batches of samples. It is necessary to investigate the limit of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural in Yueju Baohe pills.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the serum dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate ( DHEAS) level and bone mineral density ( BMD) in aged women. Methods Two hundred and seven elderly women aged 60-84 years were enrolled in the study. Acquisition histories, including age, body mass index, and blood pressure were recorded. Serum steroid hormones ( DHEAS, testosterone, estradiol, and cortisol) and bone metabolic markers:β-C-terminal telopeptide of type Ⅰ collagen (β-CTx ) , osteocalcin, and total procollagen type Ⅰ N propeptide ( TPINP) were determined. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of different concentrations of arsenic trioxide (As(2)O(3)) on apoptosis and proliferation of human lung cancer cell line A549 in vitro under hypoxia and normoxia. METHODS: A549 cells were treated with 0, 1, 2, 4 micromol/L As2O3 for 12, 24 and 48 h under hypoxia (5% O(2)) and normoxia (21% O(2)). The proliferative inhibition rate of A549 cells was measured with methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay, and the apoptotic rate of A549 cells was detected by Annexin V/propidium iodide (PI) double staining. RESULTS: Under normoxia and hypoxia, 1, 2, 4 micromol/L As(2)O(3) could significantly inhibit the proliferation of A549 cells and induce the apoptosis of A549 cells. The results depended on the drug concentration and action time. And the hypoxia couldn't influence the effects of As(2)O(3). CONCLUSION: As(2)O(3) can inhibit the proliferation and induce the apoptosis of A549 cells under hypoxia and normoxia.

Objective To investigate the prevalence and the transmission of oqxAB gene in clinical strains of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae .Methods Nonduplicate clinical isolates of E.coli (n=72)and K .pneumoniae (n=49)were col-lected.The oqxAB gene was amplified by PCR.The product was sequenced.Plasmid conjugation experiments were done in oqxAB-positive E.coli and K.pneumoniae strains to detemine whether oqxAB gene is located in plasmid.The MICs and mu-tant prevention concentrations (MPCs)for ciprofloxacin were determined in transconjugants with oqxAB gene by agar dilution method.Results The oqxA,oqxB and oqxAB were identified in 15,4,and 7 of the 72 strains of Escherichia coli and 4,1,and 34 of the 49 strains of K.pneumoniae,respectively.The oqxAB gene was positive in 2 (2/16)ciprofloxacin sensitive and 5 (5/56)ciprofloxacin resistant E.coli strains,in 8 (8/14)ciprofloxacin sensitive and 26 (26/35)ciprofloxacin resistant K. pneumoniae strains,respectively.The E.coli and K.pneumoniae strains with or without oqxAB did not show different sus-ceptibility to ciprofloxacin.The oqxA and oqxB sequences from E.coli and K.pneumoniae showed 99% similarity to the se-quences of GeneBank accession number AB601773.1 and accession number FJ975561.1,respectively.The oqxAB gene was successfully transferred in 4 of the 5 oqxAB-positive E.coli strains.The MIC of ciprofloxacin was 0.25-0.5 mg/L against the transconjugants,31-62 times higher than the MICs for the recipient strains.The MPC of ciprofloxacin was 8-16 mg/L against the transconjugants,32 times higher than that for recipient strain J53.The oqxAB gene were not transferred in K. pneumoniae. When the MIC of ciprofloxacin was ≤0.062 5 mg/L,the MPC of ciprofloxacin was 0.25-0.5 mg/L for K.pneumoniae strains with or without oqxAB.When MIC was 0.25-0.5 mg/L,the MPC of ciprofloxacin was 2-16 mg/L for K .pneumoniae strains with or without oqxAB .Conclusions oqxAB gene is present in E .coli and K .pneumoni-ae .The oqxAB gene spreads through plasmid in E .coli.The nonsiginificant difference of oqxAB prevalence between ciproflox-acin sensitive and ciprofloxacin resistant strains indicates that oqxAB gene may mediate low level resistance to ciprofloxacin in E.coli.The E.coli transconjugants of oqxAB gene can produce high level resistance under the selection pressure of ciproflox-acin.The high level resistance in K .pneumoniae under selection pressure of ciprofloxacin is not associated with oqxAB gene, but related to the ciprofloxacin MIC against these strains.

Objective To analyze the genetic diversity of eight species of Caragana Fabr. in Ordos Plateau. Methods To study the genetic diversity of the eight species with ISSR method. Results The total percentage of polymorphic bands (PPB) of the eight species was up to 100%, which was extremely high and showed an abundant genetic diversity. However, the genetic diversity of different species was not the same. The genetic diversity of C. tibetica, C. korshinskii, C. stenophylla, C. roborovskyi, and C. intermedia was higher, while that of C. opulens and C. purdomii was lower, and that of C. brachypoda was the lowest. The analytic results of the Nei′s gene diversities and the Shannon′s information index were similar. Different species could be differentiated through UPGMA method and characteristic banding pattern of ISSR. Conclusion ISSR Molecular marker could be used in molecular authentication and hereditary background study of the species of Caragana Fabr. These results provide the scientific basis of developing effective protection measures for these species.
