BACKGROUND:An increase in activity of muscle contraction can induce transcription of a variety of signaling molecules to activate a large number of gene expression within the nucleus through proprietary signaling pathway OBJECTIVE:To review studies related the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma coactivator 1(PGC-1)and exercise induced skeletal muscle adaptations.METHODS:A computer-based online search of Pubmed was performed for relevant English articles published from January 1995 to January 2009 with the keywords of"PGC1,skeletal muscle, exercise, adaptations"The relevant articles about PGC-1 and exercise induced skeletaI muscle adaptations were included.and repetitive contents were excluded.PGC1 and mitochondrial oxidative metabolism, and exercise-induced skeletal muscle adaptation and PGC1s changed served as the evaluation indicators.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Of 57 collected articles,34 were classified and sorted according to the criteria.Endurance training results in profound adaptations for skeletal muscle, including mitochondrial biogenesis, capillary density, and fiber composition.Transcription factors are highly dependent on coactivator molecules to regulate training physiologic adaptation processes. The majority of transcription factors target genes are involved in mitochondrial biogenesis and metabolism. These transcriptional patterns may provide a basic framework for understanding the integration of mitochondrial biogenesis and function with signaling events that exercise induced energetic properties Post-transcription of PGC-1 alpha protein, there are a variety of protein modifications, with a variety of biological processes closely related to the possible adaptive mechanism of exercise-induced skeletal muscle.

National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(9):847-851
Epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a process of normal cell physiological development, in which epithelial cells transform into mesenchyme cells through a specific program. EMT plays a key role in inflammatory reaction, cell development, tumor invasion, and metastasis and has an interrelation with prostate cancer stem cells. Recent researches show the involvement of EMT in the development and metastasis of prostate cancer. This article reviews the specific roles and action mechanisms of EMT in the progression of prostate cancer.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2016;43(8):352-357
The activation of the proto-oncogene STAT3 is strongly controlled under physiological conditions. However, obtained evi-dence revealed that STAT3 is persistently activated in cancer cells and contributes to cancer initiation and progression. Studies demon-strated the various functions of activated STAT3 in promoting cancer development and aggravation, including cancer cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis, drug resistance, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, regulation of the tumor microenvironment, and promo-tion of the self-renewal and differentiation of cancer stem cells. Canonically, STAT3 is regulated by signaling pathways mediated by cy-tokines and growth factors. Many studies determined that STAT3 was also regulated by G protein-coupled receptors, cadherin engage-ment, Toll-like receptors, microRNA, and acetylation. We summarized the recent developments in the research on the regulation of STAT3 activation.

Chinese Journal of Interventional Cardiology 1996;0(01):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical and stenting relating risk factors on the in-stent restenosis. Methods One hundred and thirty seven patients whose data were available were enrolled in this study, and the patients were divided into the groups of in-stent restenosis and non in-stent restenosis according to the results of coronary angiograms. Then the clinical and stent relating factors affecting in-stent restenosis were analyzed. Results There were no statistical differences in age and prevalence of smoking, drinking, hypertension and diabetes mellitus between two groups. Narrowing of target coronary vessels before the procedures in the group of in-stent restenosis was more severe than that in the group of non in-stent restenosis ( vs , P=0.033). The average diameter of stents used in the group of in-stent restenosis was obviously smaller than that used in the group of non in-stent restenosis ([3.19?3.90]mm vs mm, P=0.005), the average length of stents, however, used in the group of in-stent restenosis was apparently longer than that used in the group of non in-stent restenosis ([21.91?8.98]mm vs [18.20?6.07]mm, P=0.011). The total duration of stent inflation in the group of in-stent restenosis was obviously shorter than that in the group of non in-stent restenosis ([22.74?19.56]s vs [29.12?25.72]s, P=0.026). There was no statistial difference between the two groups in the inflation times and pressure of stents implantation. Conclusion The results suggested that the rate of in-stent restenosis was not significantly influenced with age, smoking, drinking, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and inflation times and pressure of stent implantation, but the narrowing of target vessels before procedures and the lengths of the stents were positively related to in-stent restenosis, while stent diameters and total inflation durations of stent were negatively related to in-stent restenosis.
