Thirty patients with vitiligo were treated by cupping of skin lesion and compress of Chinese herbs, compared with western medical treatment. After 3-course's treatments the total effective rate ws 96.7% in treatment group and 76.7% in control group. There was a significant difference (P＜0.05)between the two groups shown by statistical analysis.

OBJECTIVE: To establish the quality standard of Yishen granules.METHODS:Polygonum multiflorum,Ganoderma,Radix Astragali and Angelica sinensis in the formulation were identified by TLC.The content of stilbene glucoside in polygonum multiflorum was determined by HPLC.RESULTS: The TLC identification method exhibited good specificities.The samples were similar to the references /control in that their TLC spots assumed identical color at the corresponding places,yet without the interference form the negative samples.The linear range of stilbene glucoside was 0.037 75～0.755 ?g(r=0.999 5) and the average recovery was 99.44%(RSD=1.79%,n=6).CONCLUSION: The established standard is accurate,reliable and applicable for the quality control of Yishen granules.

The effect of dark tea fermentation liquid with Eurotium Cristatum on the activity of digestive enzyme was researched, as fellowing amylase, protease, lipase. The results showed that dark tea fermentation liquid with Eurotium Cristatum may increase remarkably the activity of ?-amylase and protease, but decrease efficiently the activity of lipase. The fermentation liquid improves the digestion and absorption of starch and protein, but inhibits the decomposition and absorption of fat, so it can explain the mechanism of Fu-brick tea's health functions.

Objective:To investigate the effect of saw palmetto extract ( SR ) on GL261 glioma in rats and immune system.Methods:The 40 rats were divided into 4 groups randomly,one was the control group without tumor( the blank group) ( n=10) ,the other 30 rats were given subcutaneous inoculation of tumor cells and then divided into 3 groups:the tumor-bearing group( n=10) ,low dose SR group( n=10) ,and high dose SR group( n=10).After 1 week fed,the rats of SR groups were given the saw palmetto extract,low dose group 50 mg/kg once a day every other day and 300 mg/kg of high dose group every other day.The tumor-bearing groups received the same dose of distilled water.After 4 weeks fed, we measured the tumor weight and the inhibition rate was calculated.The tumor cell apoptosis was detected by TUNEL staining.The activity of splenic macrophages was detected by macrophage phagocytosis of chicken erythrocytes and CD4+lymphocytes by flow cytometry.Results:①The SR groups compared with tumor group, the tumor weight was significantly reduced(F=62.678,P=0.000).The tumor inhibition rate was significantly higher in high dose group.②The apoptosis of tumor cells in tumor-bearing group was significantly less than SR groups and the apoptosis was significantly increased after treatment with SR ,especially in high dose SR group(F=1.287,P=0.000).③Compared with the blank group,the macrophage activity decreased remarkablely.SR enhanced the macrophage activity obviously, positively related to doses of SR ( F=141.205,P=0.000;F=126.903,P=0.000).④In the tumor-bearing group,the CD4+lymphocyte count decreased significantly.After SR treatment,the CD4+lymphocyte increased and were positively related to the dose of SR.Conclusion: Saw palmetto extract can strengthen the immune system.

Objective To evaluate the effect of labor analgesia on the development of postpartum depression.Methods Seventy nulliparous parturients who were at full term with a singleton fetus in vertex presentation,aged 20-35 yr,with body mass index＜27 kg/m2,at 38-41 weeks of gestation,of ASA physical status Ⅰ,were enrolled and divided into 2 groups (n =35 each) using a random number table:vaginal delivery group (group VD) and labor analgesia group (group LA).In LA group,the epidural catheter was placed at L2,3 interspace for combined spinal-epidural analgesia when their cervical dilations were in 2-3 cm.VAS score was maintained below 3 after the analgesia.Parturients completed Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale questionnaires 42 days after the labor.The development of depression was recorded.Results The incidence of postnatal depression was significantly lower in LA group (17％) than in VD group (40％).Conclusion Labor analgesia can decrease the development of postpartum depression.

Background and purpose: Primary signet ring cell carcinoma(SRCC) of the bladder is rarely diagnosed in the clinic. Few cases have been reported in the literature, so there was lack of understanding of the primary bladder SRCC in terms of diagnosis and treatment. Our study was to investigate the clinical features and treatment strategy for primary SRCC of the bladder and review the status of the disease along with the literature. Methods: 3 cases of primary bladder SRCC were studied, including clinical features, treatment, follow-up and their prognosis.The literature was reviewed. Results: All cases received ultrasound, computerized tomography, cystoscopy, biopsy and other related lab tests for diagnosis and differential diagnosis. Laparoscopic radical cystectomy and orthotopic ileal neobladders were performed in 2 cases, while the other case received laparoscopic radical cystectomy and ileal conduit diversion, Chemotherapy (cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil) was delivered in one case after surgery. One patient died at 6 months postoperatively because of multiple metastasis. The other 2 cases have been followed-up only for 8 and 12 months postoperatively, and no recurrence or metastasis have been observed. Conclusion: Primary SRCC of the bladder lacks distinctive clinical and imaging manifestations. The tumor grows very invasively. Radical cystcctomy is one of the optimal approaches for treatment of SRCC of bladder.

Background and purpose: The prognostic factors on survival for the patients with prostate carcinoma are still underdeterrnined. This study was to analyze the survival of three common treatment methods for prostate carcinoma and the prognostic factors on survival. Methods: 494 male patients who were diagnosed as prostate cancer were enrolled into the retrospective study. All of the data like age, stage, grade, PSA level, ALP, Hb and treatments were collected. Overall survival and disease specific survival rates for patients were analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. Prognostic factors on disease specific survival were also analyzed by Log-rank test and Cox proportional hazards model. Results: Disease specific survival rates at 1, 3 and 5 year were 96.0%, 89.0% and 80.0% for all 494 patients, respectively. Disease specific survival rate at 3-year was 92.4% for brachytherapy, 100.0% for radical prostatectomy and 80.6% for hormonal therapy (P=0.008). Multivariate analysis by Cox model showed that stage, PSA level and age significantly impacted on disease specific survival. Conclusion: Brachytherapy and radical prostatectomy provides longer survival time than hormonal therapy for patients with prostate cancer. Clinical stage and PSA level and age of prostate cancer are independent factors impacting on survival significantly.

Objective To determine,the clinical significance of serum myocardial enzymes (Mb,cTNI, CK,CK-Mb,AST,LDH) in the classification of the disease severity of non-cardiogenic critically-ill patients. Compared with APACHEⅡscore concerned as the standard diagnosis of the critical ills,these biomarkers were investigated for the evaluation possibility of the degree and the prognosis of the critical ills.Method Patients admitted to our EICU were consecutively collected for the research from April to December in 2005 and the myocardial enzymes,and routine serum biochemical test and APACHEⅡscore were detected simultaneously.All the patients were classified to three groups according to the APACHEⅡscore (mild group,APACHEⅡ25) and two groups (survive group and death group) according to the prognosis.All the patients were followed up till recovery/discharge or death.
