Objective To evaluate the effect ofJiawei-Danggui-Buxue decoction in the treatment for the patients with hemorrhagic anemia after total knee arthroplasty (TKA).Methods A total of 63 TKA patients with hemorrhagic anemia were included, and were divided into the treatment group (31 patients) and the control group (32 patients). All patients started to take medicine the second day after surgery. The control group took the Ferrous Succinate Tablets and the treatment group took Jiawei-Danggui-Buxue decoction in the following 4 weeks. The Hb and Hct were detected, and the changes of TCM syndrome scores and the total effect rates of anemiawere observed. Results The total effect rate of TCM syndrome scores in the treatment group was 93.54%, which was significantly higher than control group 83.87% (P<0.05); The total effect rate of anemia in the treatment group was 90.32%, which is significantly higher than control group 75.00% (P<0.05). At the fifteenth day after operation,. And at the postoperative 29th day, the levels of Hemoglobin (129.61 ± 13.02 g/Lvs. 113.35 ± 15.46 g/L,t=6.245) and Hematocrit (0.45% ± 0.03 %vs. 0.41% ± 0.04%,t=5.962) in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions TheJiawei-Danggui-Buxue decoctionimprovethe Hb, HCT and the clinical effect rates of anemia and TCM syndromes for the patients with hemorrhagic anemia after TKA.

BACKGROUND:Recently, there are many documents al over the world reporting hypotoxicity infection after fracture internal fixation surgery, but reports are different on whether it is necessary for chronic hypotoxicity infection internal fixation removal post surgery. There are no fixed judgment criteria of curative effects, which leads to inexact conclusion of treatment method.
OBJECTIVE:To observe the curative effects of taking rifampicin and ciprofloxacin with transfer of skin flap in the treatment of chronic hypotoxicity infection with sinus formation after fracture surgery on tibial plateau and ankle. METHODS:A total of 56 cases of chronic hypotoxicity infection after fracture surgery of tibial plateau and ankle were col ected from September 2005 to December 2012. 30 cases in the therapy group were treated with
levofloxacin and rifampicin with transfer of skin flap. 26 cases in the control group were treated with conventional intravenous antibiotics with local debridement to remove internal fixation. In both groups, the course of disease was 3 to 6 months. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate, kidney function and radiographic indices were reviewed every 1 to 3 months, and curative effects were evaluated.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:During the fol ow-up visit of 6-24 months, no recurrence happened to the cured and improved patients. In the therapy group, 24 cases were cured, 4 cases were improved, and 2 cases were invalid, with a total effective rate of 93%. In the control group, 11 cases were cured, 6 cases were improved and 9 cases were invalid with the total effective rate of 65%.χ2 test showed that therapeutic effects were significantly better in the therapy group than in the control group (P<0.05). These data indicated that rifampicin and ciprofloxacin with transfer of skin flap for chronic hypotoxicity infection with sinus formation after fracture surgery of tibial plateau and ankle showed good curative effects.

Objective To investigate the relationship between occupational noise exposure and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels, as well as prediabetes diagnosed by HbA1c. Methods A total of 1 181 workers from a cigarette factory were selected as the research subjects using a judgment sampling method. Workers were divided into control, low-level noise exposure and high-level noise exposure groups, consisting of 236, 359, and 586 individuals, respectively. The blood sample was collected for HbA1c test and occupation noise exposure intensity in workplace was detected by an area-sampling method. Results There were no statistical significant differences in HbA1c levels and prediabetes prevalence among the three groups of workers (all P>0.05). After adjusting for potential confounding factors such as years of service, gender, smoking, pack-years of smoking, alcohol consumption, and body mass index, multiple linear regression analysis showed that the high-level noise exposure group had higher HbA1c level than the control group (P<0.05). Multivariable logistic regression analysis results showed that the high-level noise exposure group had higher risk of prediabetes compared with the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Occupational noise exposure could be a risk factor for the increased HbA1c levels and prediabetes incidence among the occupational population. More attention should be paid to the effects of occupational noise exposure on the HbA1c level in occupational health surveillance.

The current document is based on a consensus reached by a panel of experts from the Chinese Society of Allergy and the Chinese Society of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Rhinology Group. Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) affects approximately 8% of Chinese adults. The inflammatory and remodeling mechanisms of CRS in the Chinese population differ from those observed in the populations of European descent. Recently, precision medicine has been used to treat inflammation by targeting key biomarkers that are involved in the process. However, there are no CRS guidelines or a consensus available from China that can be shared with the international academia. The guidelines presented in this paper cover the epidemiology, economic burden, genetics and epigenetics, mechanisms, phenotypes and endotypes, diagnosis and differential diagnosis, management, and the current status of CRS in China. These guidelines—with a focus on China—will improve the abilities of clinical and medical staff during the treatment of CRS. Additionally, they will help international agencies in improving the verification of CRS endotypes, mapping of eosinophilic shifts, the identification of suitable biomarkers for endotyping, and predicting responses to therapies. In conclusion, these guidelines will help select therapies, such as pharmacotherapy, surgical approaches and innovative biotherapeutics, which are tailored to each of the individual CRS endotypes.
