To strongly promote the activity of reading classics among medical students, Chongqing University of Medical Sciences has made a sampling survey on the state of reading and their literature knowledge among the medical students. The survey shows that the medical students agree to the necessity and probability of reading classics, that they also show some obvious preferences for interest in reading and that there is a huge difference in hierarchy,grade and sex with regard to the grasp of literature, history, philosophy, arts and technology for medical students. The outcome of this survey will undoubtedly make a great revelation on how to carry out the activity of reading classics.

Objective To investigate the hemostatic effect and influence on coagulation function of hemecongulase during neurosurgical operation.Methods Sixty patients with neurosurgical trauma at American statistical association(ASA) Ⅰ-Ⅱ were randomly divided into hemocoagnlase treatment group (n =30) and control group(n =30).Both two group were injected Baquting 2U at the day before the operation,30 min before the operation,every two day after the operation and end up 3 d.Treatment group were pedormed with Baqyting 4 U + physiological saline 10 ml topical spraying.The intelligibility of operating region,the volume of intraoperative,the volume of bleeding during the operation,transfusion of blood,postoperative drainage,and drainage tube exelcymosis time were recorded in all the patients.Prothrombin time (PT),activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT),fibrinogen level(FIB),fibrinogen degradation product(FDP) and the two D-dimer and platelet count(PLT) before and after the surgery were also determined.All the patients were postoperatively followed up.Results The intelligibility of operating region was 70.0％ (21/30) in the hemocoagnlase treatment group,higher than that in control group (0％,P ＜0.05).The volume of bleeding during the operation in the hemecoagulase treatment group was (680.00 ± 95.22) ml,significantly fewer than that in the control group((790.00 ±47.00) ml,P =0.034).PLT significantly decreased after the surgery in both of the groups compare to that in preoperation (P ＜ 0.05 or P ＜ 0.01) and no significant difference was seen between two groups (P ＞ 0.05).No severe adverse events were found in both groups.Conclusion Hemocoagulase treatment during the operation can improve the intelligibility of operating region,reduce the volume of bleeding and transfusion of blood,and do not affect the coagulation function in the patients.Therefore,hemocoagulase is a safe and effective hemostatic and through local application during the operation it can improve curative effect.

Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy, especially the comprehensive improvement of blood glucose and lipid of probucol and metformin in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus with hyperlipidemia. Methods:Totally 105 patients with type 2 di-abetes mellitus complicated with hyperlipidemia were randomly divided into the control group1 (35 cases), the control group 2 (34 ca-ses) and the observation group (36 cases). The control group 1 was treated with diet control, exercise and metformin, the control group 2 was treated with rosuvastatin calclum tablets based on the group 1, and the observation group was treated with probucol based on the group 1. The three groups were continuously treated for 12 weeks. The improvement of the fasting blood-glucose (FPG), 2h postprandial blood glucose (PBG), hemoglobin A1C (HbA1C), fasting insulin levels (Fins), insulin resistance indices (HOMA-IR) and TC, TG and HDL-C, and the adverse reactions among the three groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate in the ob-servation group was higher than that in the control group 1 and 2 (P<0. 05). After the treatment, all the indices of blood glucose and lipid in the three groups were significantly improved (P<0. 05), and those of blood glucose in the observation were better than those in the control group 1 and 2(P<0. 05), those of blood lipid in the observation group and the control group 2 were better than those in the control group 1 (P<0. 05), and the level of HDL-C in the observation group was much higher than that in the control group 2 (P<0. 05). The adverse drug reactions in the three groups were mild without statistical significance (P>0. 05). Conclusion:Probucol as one of lipid-lowing drugs with antioxidant action combined with metformin can improve blood lipid and lower blood glucose at the same time, which is worthy of promoted application in clinics.

Objective To observe the expression of Glu、mGluR 5 and EAAT 1 in bone tissues of ovariectomized osteoporotic rats and the effects of Total Flavonoids of Rhizoma Drynariae (TFRD) on it. Methods 45 SPF 3-month-old Sprague-Dawley (SD) female rats were randomly divided into sham operation (Sham, n=15) group and ovariectomized (OVX, n=30) group. The osteoporotic(OP) model was established by bilateral ovariectomy, 14 weeks later, we measured bone mineral density(BMD) by dual-energy X-ray and determined that OP model was successfully replicated, OVX group rats were then divided into OVX group (n=15) and OVX+TFRD group (n=15). The OVX+TFRD group was given TFRD for 12 weeks. Glutamate (Glu), metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 (mGluR 5), and Glutamate/Aspartate Transporter (GLAST/EAAT 1)’s expression of femur was examined in order to clarify the characteristics of bone glutamate signaling pathway and the effects of TFRD on it. Results Glu and ionotropic receptors mGluR 5 mainly distributed in bone marrow cells and osteoblasts closed to the bone marrow cavity walls. There were no significant differences in Glu expression among Sham group, OVX group and OVX+TFRD group. The mGluR 5 expression of OVX+TFRD group was significantly higher than that of Sham group and OVX group(P=0.009), while no significant difference was found between the latter two groups. In addition to large distribution in bone marrow cells, small amount of transporter EAAT 1 was noted to express in bone cells of the bone lacunae. There were no significant differences in EAAT 1 expression among the three groups. Conclusion In bone glutamate signaling pathway, this study demonstrated that TFRD could significantly improve the ionotropic receptor mGluR 5’s expression, but had no inlfuence for Glu and EAAT 1.

Objective The relationship was analyzed between clinic and the expression intensity of HBsAg and HBcAg with in the hepatic tissue from the serum HBeAg negative group and the positive group.Methods A total of 317 liver biopsy specimens were divided into the HBeAg negative group and the positive group,and the relationship was analyzed between the expression inten sity of HBsAg and HBcAg within the hepatic tissue and their age,gender,ALT level,serum HBV-DNA load,hepatic inflammatory activity grading and fibrosis staging in the two groups.Results Age,ALT level,hepatic inflammatory activity grading and fibrosis of the serum HBeAg negative patients were greater than those of the serum HBeAg positive patients,while their serum HBV-DNA load and the expression intensity of HBcAg within the hepatic tissue were lower than those of the serum HBeAg positive patients (P＜0.05).The expression intensity of HBsAg within the hepatic tissue between the serum HBeAg patients and the serum HBeAg positive patients was not significantly different,and it was not correlated with age,ALT level,hepatic inflammatory grading and fi brosis staging (P＞0.05).After the serum HBeAg turned negative,the expression intensity of HBcAg within the hepatic tissue was decreased (P=0.00,t=12 349.0),and it became positively correlated with the serum HBV DNA load(P=0.007,r=0.251) and its negative correlation with the hepatic inflammatory activity and fibrosis was weakened.Conclusion After the serum HBeAg turned negative,other antigenic components of HBV may still maintain the adequately active immune status within the hepatic tis sue of organisms.After the serum HBeAg turned negative,the expression intensity of HBcAg within the hepatic tissue was de creased and became positively correlated with the serum HBV DNA,while its negative correlation with the hepatic inflammatory activity grade and fibrosis stagings was weakened.

OBJECTIVE:To study the intervention mechanism of puerarin on expressions of HSP70 and Fas proteinum in rats with acute cerebral ischemia injury.METHODS:12 rats with acute cerebral ischemia injury were randomly divided into ischemia control group(saline) and puerarin treated control group,with 6 in each group,each rat under took own control by ischemia side(exp.group) and non-ischemia side(control group);And rats with acute cerebral ischemia injury were randomly divided into control group (saline,ischemia side),puerarin treated control group and normal group (non-ischemia side),with 6 in each group.And then the expressions of HSP70 and Fas proteinum is determined by HE staining and immunochistochemistry SP.RESULTS: The expression of HSP70 was negative or weakly positive in ischemia control group and puerarin treated control group, while that in ischemia experiment group and puerarin treated experiment group was significantly increased(P0.05);The numbers of dead cells in control group and puerarin group were found to be significantly larger than that in normal group(P

AIM: To observe the ameliorative effect of Puerarin Injection on blood hyperviscosity in acute blood-stasis model rats. METHODS: The acute blood-stasis model rats were made by injected adrenaline repeatedly and soaked in ice water. The markers of whole blood viscosity and plasm viscosity in the rats were measured with Auto-Viscometer. RESULTS: The whole blood viscosity and plasm viscosity was significantly raised in the acute blood-stasis model rats and Puerarin Injection had ameliorative effects on them. CONCLUSION: Puerarin Injection can ameliorate the blood-high-viscosity in rats of blood-stasis model.

BACKGROUND:With the medical development, prognostic outcomes of spinal cord injuries have not been improved significantly, and most patients also suffer from severe complications. Nowadays, lots of laboratories and clinical researches have suggested that celltherapy has a great potential, especial y the application of umbilical cord blood stem cells in nervous system diseases. OBJECTIVE:To explore the feasibility and clinical effect of umbilical cord blood neural stem cells transplantation for patients with obsolete spinal cord injury. METHODS:Umbilical cord blood was harvested from newborns under aseptic condition, and differentiated into neural stem cells in vitro that were prepared into cellsuspension at a concentration of 109/L. The cellsuspension (3 mL) was injected via the L 3-4 or L 4-5 into the subarachnoid space. American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) scores and the residual urine were assessed before and 3 months after transplantation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After transplantation, al the patients showed a stable life indication. Three months later, ASIA scores were increased and the residual urine decreased, which significantly differed from those before transplantation (P<0.05). These findings indicate that umbilical cord blood neural stem cells transplantation is a new treatment that can improve the limb function and life quality of patients with obsolete spinal cord injury.

ObjectiveTo observe anatomy of the blood vessel arches and their blood circulation in the ileum and further establish surgical strategy for preventing excessive tonicity and ischemia of the ileum after anastomosis of the ileum pouch and the anal canal.MethodsThe blood vessel arches were dissected in the ileum of 45 corpses and their blood circulation routes were observed.ResultsThe 2-tier blood vessel arches were found in 2 cases (4％), the 3-tier blood vessel arches in 35 cases (78％), the 4-tier blood vessel arches in 5 cases (11％), and the 5-tier blood vessel arches in 3 cases (7％).ConclusionsUnder the right colic artery, curing the superior mesenteric artery and vein can release the length of the small intestines, prevent tonicity and ischemia of the ileum after anastomosis of the ileum pouch and the anal canal, and supply enough blood to the ileum by the 2 -5 tier blood vessels.

Objective To explore the method and management of pre-hospital care and raise the level of traffic injuries in pre-hospital care by summarizing the clinical features of death patients with severe tragic accident trauma Methods The basic data of 62 death patients with severe traffic accident trauma was analyzed according to death report statistics of severe traffic accident trauma from January 1st,2005 to December 31th,2008 Results Brain injury death accounted for most of traffic accident trauma death.The mortality rate of brain injury in the wounded wag 8.28%(13/157),but of asphyxia and hemorrhagic shock was 2.55%(4/157),3.18%(5/157)respectively in 2005.With the development of treatment and rescued in time, the mortality rate reduced to 6.11%(11/180),0,0.56%(1/180)in 2008.Conclesions It should be trying to shorten the time of pre-hospital care for pafients with trsffic accident trauma,especially in patients combined with hemorrhagic shock,asphyxia,severe brain injury.It is concluded that rapid and effective pre-hospital care can significantly reduce death rate and self-help or each other rescue training would also be effective to reduce mortality.
