Objective To understand the body burden and the distribution characters of organochlorine pesticides and residues in non-occupational exposure population. Methods A cross-section study was conducted from Mar. 2004 to Jul. 2004, 107 men and 142 women, who were all healthy community residents, were investigated. Serum DDTs and HCHs level were determined by EC-ECD. The relationship between organochlorine pesticides in serum and age and BMI were analyzed by liner regression. Results Organochlorine pesticides and residues in serum with high detection rate were ?-HCH≥82.2%, p,p'-DDE≥94.4%, p,p'-DDT≥91.6%, and the level of the three organochlorine pesticides in the serum of women was significantly higher than that in men Mann-Whitney Test, P

AIM: To observe protective effects of sanguis draxonis flavones on myocardial ischemia in rats and dogs. METHODS: Acute myocardial ischemia in rats was produced by iv pituitrin and ECG indexes were observed. Myocardial ischemia was induced by ligating coronary artery in anaesthetized dogs, and then EEC, CK,LDH, and LD in serum were determined respectively. RESULTS: J point and T wave in rats changed evidently after iv pituitrin, which was reversed by sanguis draxonis flavones (360, 180 mg?kg~ -1). In coronary artery ligation model, infraction range, △N-ST, △?-ST and some serum indexes (such as CK, LDH and LD) was decreased after ig sanguis draxonis flavones (120, 60, 30 mg?kg~ -1). CONCLUSION: Acute myocardial ischemia is protected effectively by sanguis draxonis flavones.

Objective To quantitatively evaluate the image quality, stability and volume precision in kilovoltage cone beam CT (CBCT) on Varian linear accelerator. Methods The Catphan (R) 600 phantom was repeatedly scanned in the full-fan and half-fan CBCT scanning modes. A simulation fan-beam CT (FBCT) was used as a benchmark and results related to the low contrast resolution, spatial resolution,uniformity and image noise were compared with the CBCT using the treatment planning system. The comparison of image quality and long-term stability and volume precision was analyzed. Results Spatial resolution was no differences observed between FBCT and CBCT ( 6 lp/cm: 6 lp/cm , T = 18. 00 , P＞ 0. 05 ) .Low contrast resolution was, on average, 1. 65％ and 1. 74％ for both CBCTFull-Fan and CBCTHalf-Fan , and 1. 03％ for the FBCT ( T =6. 00, P ＜ 0. 05). Uniformity was, on average, 0. 005 and 0. 033 for both, and 0. 003 for the FBCT ( T=6. 00 , P ＜0. 05). In terms of image noise, the FBCT images were superior to the CBCT (T=30. 00, P＜O. 05). In valid scan range of the CBCT, reconstructed precision was high. There was no significant time trend in the image quality. Conclusions The image quality of kilovoltage CBCT is inferior to the conventional CT. However, tumor and soft tissues are visible in the CBCT images. The image stability and reconstructed precision is satisfying.

Objective To investigate the effect of ReCell technique on diabetic foot and explore main nursing measures. Methods Forty patients with diabetic foot were divided into control group(n=20)and experiment group(n=20)according to admission time. With wound bed prepared, the control group received only free skin flap grafting and the observation group was managed with ReCell technique plus free skin flap grafting.The skin flap survival and treatment time in two groups were observed and compared. Result The skin flap survival in the experiment group was better than the control group and the treatment time was shorter. Conclusion ReCell technique is effective in raising the survival rate of skin flap in diabetic foot and shortening treatment time.The improvement of nursing measures is critical for the success of ReCell technique.

Objective To evaluate early diagnostic and guiding therapeutic value of MRI in children’s acute supparative osteomyelitis.Methods The axis,sagittal and coronal planes were performed with Philips 0.5 T superconduct MR scanner in 16 cases with acute suppurative osteomyelitis of lower extremity 2 to 14 days after onset.Results Abnormal signals in marrow were displayed in all 15 cases 3 to 14 days after onset. No abnormality was found in 1 case 2 days after onset. The interface between nomal and abnormal marrow became clear as time going on. The lesion presented as patchy low intensity on T 1WI and high signal on T 2WI. The signal changes were marked especially on STIR. Acording to MR imaging, all cases were divided into abscess type and non-abscess type.Abscess were operated and non-abscess were not. The mean follow up was 1 year, cure rate was 100%.Conclusion MRI is of significant value in early diagnosis and guiding therapy of acute suppurative osteomyelitis.

Endemic dental fluorosis has been reported in some regions of the world. China seemed to have high prevalence of endemic dental fluorosis, especially in southwest China. It is now most likely that excessive fluoride intake during enamel development play a key role in the pathogenesis of dental fluorosis. However, excessive intake of fluoride-induced cellular and molecular mechanisms of dental fluorosis are not entirely conclusive. Scholars at home and abroad have made a lot of research on pathogenesis of enamel fluorosis by using various experimental techniques. More recent studies mainly suggest that endoplasmic reticulum stress and calcium overload-associated apoptotic pathway may participate in fluoride excess-evoked pathogenesis of dental fluorosis. Furthermore, the functional changes of enamel matrix protein and protease activity may be involved in the pathological event. This paper summarized the recent research progress on this topic.

Aim To observe the change of amyloid, acetylcholine transferase and glial fibrillary acidic protein expression in Macaca Rhesus hippocampal after infused the Aβ_(1-42) and thiorphan and explore the possibility of the establishment of Macaca Rhsus AD model in brain.Method The Rhesus monkeys were anesthetized (im), the skull was exposed by a midline scalp incision, and oriented craniotomy was performed on left side by dental drill.First, neprilysin in cerebral cortex and basal nucleus was consumed by infusion thiorphan. Then cerebral cortex and basal nucleus were slowly infused with fibrilla Aβ_(1-42). Finally, the cannula for thiorphan infusion was implanted into the basal nucleus.Miniosmotic pump (Alzet MODEL 2ML4,) was subcutaneously fixed by bio gel 454 on the calvaria (Loctite Co. Ltd,USA) according to the manufacturer's instructions.After 50 days' survival, animals were deep anesthetized with ketamine and sacrificed. The pathological changes were observed by HE staining and immunostaining in monkey brains.Result Neuronal loss and a proliferation of microglia were detected in hippocampal formation by HE staining.Immuno-staining showed Aβ_(1-42),ChAT and GFAP positive cells density were 0.59±0.05,0.21±0.04 and 0.19±0.04 separately.Compared with control group, the density in experimental groups showed distinct difference in statistic analysis (P<0.01).Conclusion The same pathological change was detected in the thioaphan and Aβ_(1-42) infusion in Macaca Rhesus hippocampal formation as what was found in AD patients.

Aim To evaluate the mucosal-protective effects of carboxymethylpachyman( CMP) on Fluorou-racil(5-Fu)-induced mice intestinal mucositis and ex-plore its mechanisms. Methods ICR mice were as-signed randomly to four groups:normal group( n=8;re-ceiving pure water orally for 14 d) ,CMP group( n=8;200 mg·kg-1 CMP for 14 d orally),5-Fu group(n=8;25 mg·kg-1 5-Fu for 7 d,intraperitoneally( i. p. ) , and CMP+5-Fu group( n=8;200 mg·kg-1 CMP for 14 d orally and 25 mg·kg-1 5-Fu for 7 d,i. p. ). At day 14the mice were sacrificed. The intestinal propel-ling rate and the colon length were measured. ROS, GSH and IL-1βcontents,and CAT,GSH-Px activities in homogenate supernatant of PPs were measured by kits for observing the effects of CMP on mice lipid peroxida-tion and intestinal mucosal inflammatory induced by 5-Fu. Colon tissues were used for hematoxylin and eosin ( HE ) staining for the determination of the effect of CMP on mice colon histopathology, immunohistochem-istry for the protein levels of NF-κB and p-p38 . Results CMP significantly extended colon lengths,accelerate the intestinal propelling rates, reduced colonic mucosa epithelium goblet cell loss, inflammatory cells infiltra-tion,and crypt depth shallow induced by 5-Fu. CMP obviously reduced ROS and IL-1β contents, and pre-vented reductions in homogenate supernatant of PPs GSH content, CATand GSH-Px activities by 5-Fu ad-ministration,and also reduced the expression of NF-κB and p-p38 in colon tissues. However, CMP alone had no effect on the colon of normal mice. Conclusion The current study demonstrates that CMP may have sig-nificant protective effects against 5-Fu-induced intesti-nal mucositis. Its mechanism may be related to enhan-cing the antioxidant activity,anti-inflammatory and an-ti-apoptotic effects.

Objective To investigate the clinical applications of 64-MSCTA for the follow-up of endovascular stent-graft exclusion (EVE). Methods Between Oct 2006 and Feb 2008, forty-four 64-MSCTA examinations were performed in 30 patients with aortic dissection (AD) and 5 patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) who underwent EVE. Imaging reconstruction including MPR, MIP and VR were finished on workstation. The outcomes and complications after EVE of aortic dissection and aortic aneurysm were evaluated. Results (1) Of 30 patients with aortic dissection, large thrombosis in false lumen was observed in 28 cases and small thrombosis in 2 cases. The cavity of aortic aneurysm outside the stent was thrombosed completely in 5 patients with AAA. (2) Thrombosis in the innominate artery on follow-up CTA after EVE was found in 1 AD patient with the innominate artery involved, Thrombosis in the superior mesenteric artery was observed on 15 days follow-up CTA but thrombolysis on 3 months after EVE in 1 case, lntimal tear in right common iliac artery was found in 1 case. Of 5 patients with AAA, occlusion of right inner iliac artery was observed in 1 case, and instent thrombosis in distal right common iliac artery was found in 1 case. (3) Endoleak was found in 14 patients with AD, including 8 with type Ⅰ and 6 with type Ⅲ endoleaks, one type Ⅲ endoleak was disappeared on follow-up CTA after 3 months. Conclusions 64-MSCTA with fast, non-invasive and effective merits, combining multiple reconstructive methods, has become one of preferred imaging methods in post-operative evaluation of EVE.
