Lung cancer is one of the malignant tumors with the highest morbidity and mortality. Epidermal growth factor receptor is expressed in the majority of non-small cell lung cancer tumor cells, making it possible to give these patients more precise and targeted therapies. The mechanisms of abnormal EGFR regulation are closely related to the efficacy of targeted therapy and the occurrence of drug resistance. Therefore, this review will review the expression mechanism of EGFR in NSCLC and the acquired drug resistance of epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor after treatment of NSCLC.

OBJECTIVETo use a rat model of nonalcoholic liver disease (NAFLD) to observe effects of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-a (PPAR-a) agonist fenofibrate on hepatic steatosis in nonalcoholic fatty liver and to investigate the underlying mechanism.
METHODSSixty-six Sprague-Dawley rats were given adaptive feeding for 1 week and then randomly allocated into the following three groups: unmodeled control (group C,n =18), untreated NAFLD model (group M, n =24), and fenofibrate-treated NAFLD model (group F, n =24).Group C rats were given a normal diet, while group M and group F rats were given a high-fat diet. After model establishment, the group F rats were treated with fenofibrate (10 mg/kg/d, intraperitoneal) and the group C and group M rats were given sham-treatment with cosolvent (5 mL/kg/d, intraperitoneal). At the end of treatment weeks 4, 6 and 8, one-third of rats in each group were euthanized.Liver tissues were assessed by hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining to determine level of steatosis and inflammaion activity, and by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling to measure changes in hepatocyte apoptosis index. Changes in expression levels of the PPAR-a receptor and apoptosis factors (bcl-2, bax and caspase-3) were assessed by reverse transcription-PCR and immunohistochemistry.
RESULTSThe NAFLD modeled rats showed appropriate induction of hepatic steatosis, hepatic inflammation, and hepatocyte apoptosis. Compared to the group M rats, the group F rats showed lower expression of PPAR-and bcl-2 and higher expression of bax and caspase-3 at both the mRNA and protein level.
CONCLUSIONFenofibrate can ameliorate hepatic steatosis in an experimental rat model of NAFLD, and the mechanism may be associated with inhibition of hepatocyte apoptosis.

【Objective】 To explore the antidepressant effects of acupuncture at Baihui and Zusanli acupoints on mice with chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS)-induced depressive-like behavior and its association with changes in gut microbiota. 【Methods】 Sixty mice were randomly divided into four groups: control group (Ctrl), control+acupuncture group (Ctrl+AP), CUMS group, and CUMS+acupuncture group (CUMS+AP). The CUMS and CUMS+AP groups underwent 6-week CUMS treatment. During the last three weeks of CUMS, mice in the Ctrl+AP and CUMS+AP groups received 20 minutes of acupuncture at Baihui and Zusanli acupoints daily. Sucrose preference test and tail suspension test were used to assess the depressive-like behavior in mice. After the behavioral tests, fecal samples were collected from the mice, and the gut microbiota composition was analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. 【Results】 Acupuncture alone had no effect on sucrose preference or tail suspension test results in mice (P>0.05). CUMS induced depressive-like behavior in mice, as evidenced by decreased sucrose preference (P<0.001) and increased immobility time in the tail suspension test (P=0.003). The CUMS+AP group showed increased sucrose preference (P=0.035) and decreased immobility time in the tail suspension test (P=0.045) compared to the CUMS group. Acupuncture and CUMS did not alter the richness of gut microbiota in mice (P>0.05), but they caused significant changes in gut microbiota composition (P=0.002). CUMS increased the abundance of six bacterial genera, including Patulibacter, and decreased the abundance of 26 bacterial genera, including Faecalibacterium (P<0.05). The CUMS+AP group showed increased abundance of 10 bacterial genera, including Faecalibacterium, and decreased abundance of four bacterial genera, including Patulibacter, compared to the CUMS group (P<0.05). Each group of mice had specific gut microbiota. The CUMS group showed significant enrichment of gene functions related to retinol metabolism, ubiquitin system, N-glycan biosynthesis, steroid hormone biosynthesis, apoptosis, and thermogenesis compared to the control group (P<0.05), while acupuncture reduced the enrichment of these gene functions in the CUMS+AP mice (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 Acupuncture at Baihui and Zusanli acupoints has antidepressant effects and can partially restore the depression-induced dysbiosis of gut microbiota. Acupuncture at Baihui and Zusanli acupoints may exert antidepressant effects by influencing gut microbiota composition and metabolism functions of retinol, ubiquitin, N-glycan, and steroids.

Plastics are widely used in human daily life, which bring great convenience. Nevertheless, the disposal of a large amount of plastic wastes also brings great pressure to the environment. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a polymer thermoplastic material produced from petroleum. It has become one of the most commonly used plastics in the world due to its durability, high transparency, light weight and other characteristics. PET can exist in nature for a long time due to its complex structure and the difficulty in degradation, which causes serious pollution to the global ecological environment, and threatens human health. The degradation of PET wastes has since become one of the global challenges. Compared with physical and chemical methods, biodegradation is the greenest way for treating PET wastes. This review summarizes the recent advances on PET biodegradation including microbial and enzymatic degradation of PET, biodegradation pathway, biodegradation mechanisms, and molecular modification of PET-degrading enzymes. In addition, the prospect for achieveing efficient degradation of PET, searching and improving microorganisms or enzymes that can degrade PET of high crystallinity are presented, with the aimto facilitate the development, application and molecular modification of PET biodegradation microorganisms or enzymes.

ObjectiveTo analyze the migrating components absorbed into blood of the aqueous extract of Euphorbia helioscopia, and to explore the pharmacodynamic material basis of the aqueous extract of E. helioscopia against chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD). MethodUltra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS) was used to detecte the migrating components absorbed into blood of rats after intragastric administration of aqueous extract of E. helioscopia. An Agilent RRHD SB-C18 column(3 mm×100 mm, 1.8 μm) was used with 0.1% formic acid aqueous solution(A)-acetonitrile(B) as the mobile phase for gradient elution(0-15 min, 5%-30%B; 15-20 min, 30%-50%B; 20-30 min, 50%-95%B; 30-35 min, 95%-5%B), and the detection wavelength of 190-800 nm, column temperature of 40 ℃, flow rate of 0.3 mL∙min-1 and injection volume of 4 μL. The electrospray ionization(ESI) was used in positive and negative ion modes, and the detection range was m/z 50-1 250. Network pharmacology was used to screen out the key components and the key targets of COPD through the interaction analysis. Metascape database was used to predict the molecular function, biological process, cellular composition and signal pathways mainly involved in the anti-COPD effect of E. helioscopia. Molecular docking technique was used to determine the affinity of key targets with key components. ResultA total of 29 migrating components absorbed into blood of rats were identified after intragastric administration of aqueous extract of E. helioscopia, 9 of which were prototype components and 20 were metabolites. Network pharmacological analysis showed that luteolin, quercetin, apigenin, naringenin and helioscopinolide C were the key components of E. helioscopia against COPD, and vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGFA), albumin(ALB), protein kinase B1(Akt1), tumor necrosis factor(TNF) and interleukin-6(IL-6) were the key targets. Molecular docking results showed that one diterpene lactone(helioscopinolide C) and three flavonoids(naringenin, luteolin, apigenin) in the migrating components absorbed into blood all had strong binding activity to the key targets of E. helioscopia against COPD. ConclusionNaringenin, helioscopinolide C, luteolin and apigenin may be the main anti-COPD active substances of E. helioscopia.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the effect of miR-324-5p on the proliferation of rat glomerular mesangial (HBZY-1) cells and the role of Syk/Ras/c-fos signaling pathway in mediating this effect.
METHODS:
HBZY-1 cells cultured in vitro were transiently transfected with miR-324-5p mimics or miR-324-5p-mimics-NC followed by treatment with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). MTT assay was used to detect the proliferation activity of HBZY-1 cells, and RT-qPCR was used to detect the expressions of miR-324-5p and the mRNA expressions of Syk, Ras, MEK1/2, ERK1/2 and c-fos mRNA. The protein expressions of p-Syk, Ras, p-MEK1/2, p-ERK1/2 and c-Fos were detected by Western blotting and immunofluorescence assay.
RESULTS:
MTT assay showed that exposure to LPS significantly enhanced the proliferative activity of HBZY-1 cells. Compared with the cells treated with LPS and LPS + mimics NC, the cells transfected with miR-324-5p mimics prior to LPS exposure exhibited significantly lowered proliferative activity. Transfection with miR-324-5p mimics significantly lowered the mRNA expressions of Syk, Ras, MEK1/2, ERK1/2 and c-fos and the protein expressions of p-Syk, Ras, MEK1/2, ERK1/2 and c-Fos (

OBJECTIVESince 1986, the reference of birth weight for gestational age has not been updated. The aim of this study was to set up Chinese neonatal network to investigate the current situation of birth weight in China, especially preterm birth weight, to develop the new reference for birth weight for gestational age and birth weight curve.
METHODA nationwide neonatology network was established in China. This survey was carried out in 63 hospitals of 23 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. We continuously collected the information of live births in participating hospitals during the study period of 2011-2014. Data describing birth weight and gestational age were collected prospectively. Newborn's birth weight was measured by electronic scale within 2 hours after birth when baby was undressed. The evaluation of gestational age was based on the combination of mother's last menstrual period, ultrasound in first trimester and gestational age estimation by gestational age scoring system.
STATISTICAL ANALYSISthe growth curve was drawn by using LMSP method, which was conducted in GAMLSS 1.9-4 software package in R software 2.11.1.
RESULTA total of 159 334 newborn infants were enrolled in this study. There were 84 447 male and 74 907 female. The mean birth weight was (3 232 ± 555) g, the mean birth weight of male newborn was (3 271 ± 576) g, the mean weight of female newborn was (3 188 ± 528) g. The test of the variables' distribution suggested that the distribution of gestational age and birth weight did not fit the normal distribution, the optimal distribution for them was BCT distribution. The Q-Q plot test and worm plot test suggested that this curve fitted the distribution optimally. The male and female neonatal birth weight curve was developed using the same method.
CONCLUSIONUsing GAMLSS method to establish nationwide neonatal birth weight curve, and the first time to update the birth weight reference in recent 28 years.
